When I'm listening to music and I want to put it down on a table or something, I just hold the red button to lock the phone... after around 30 seconds the screen shuts off, but the music stays on. |

I really like the layout of the built in music player, but why in the hell can it only sort songs in alphabetical order? I want to be able to listen to full albums in their intended order. I tried a work around of adding playlist files (.m3u and .pls) but it detected neither. Funny thing is the actual files should be in the proper order because the way I have them named is (BAND) - (track #) - (SONG NAME). Does anyone know if theres a way to get this player to sort these files the way they should be sorted? I have mort player for the time being, but I like the built in player better. |

its pretty crappy in the US as well. People here love those blackberry things though... Also the razor, which is infuriating (the buttons are so damn impossible to push) |

I live in the US. I currently go thorugh Cingular for my phone service. Their internet offerings seem a bit on the stingy side. The special smartphone internet packages are $10/month extra for 5MB or $25/month extra for unlimited. I cant justify $25 a month, as I pay that for my home internet, but how much exactly can you do with 5MB? It seems like that much would be used up only after a few minutes of searching forums between classes. Am i looking at this wrong? does anyone think this is worth the money? |

Ive had this phone for a few months and have been loving it. I take good care of it and whatnot, hoping that it will last. Not too long ago, ive started having a problem. The send button seems to be going out on me. Often in order for the keypress to register, the button must be pushed very hard. Im the second owner of the phone (got it off ebay.. it appeared to be in pristine condition upon arival) so I have no idea how to get warranty service done... if that is even possible. so is my phone that is otherwise perfect about to be totally unusable? is there an easy way for me to fix this? I havent taken it appart or anything... could it just need a de-dusting under the case? |

Hey, I just tried PocketSnes on my C500 and it works fine, its really cool. One problem I have is that the only buttons u can press together are the movement keys and the 'Start' and 'Contacts' keys. I know this is a fault in some computer keyboards, I was just wondering is their anyway to overcome it? I have the audiovox 5600 wich i assumed was the exact same phone, but I cant use the softkeys in conjunction with any other keys... for me it only withs with the * key. I think the only way to solve this problem is to upgrade to a new phone. on the plus side, upgrading also means qvga screen... still i wont be upgrading any time soon. |

awesome another SNES emulator. is this one able to play SuperMario RPG or Cronotrigger? Ill download when i get to a computer that has active sync edit - doesnt seem to be working. with bust-a-move it works for about 3 seconds then exits to the desktop with supermarioRPG it crashes and burns... it froze up on a black screen and when i hit camera to get out, it gave me a low memory error then nothing worked at all, had to pop the battery off. double edit - ok for some reason it works now with bust-a-move. Way faster than Paralax's version, but realy slow with sound. SupermarioRPG doesnt work still. Just stays at a black screen, I can exit through the menu. |

QUOTE(jack @ Feb 12 2006, 05:45) I think that the miniSD is under the battery so that you can't take it out while the phone is On.. this makes the phone's battery life longer because when you take the SD card out the phone must call an event to remove it.. when you insert it back again.. I think this was a HTC trick to "improve" the battery life. I always thought it was under the battery so you dont accidently pop the card out in your pocket letting it get damaged/lost... those things are expensive and losing data isnt fun. |

i think you guys are dropping the edrama bomb rather quickly here. If he cant do it, he cant do it. nobody loses anything... If tech is successful then we all get a badass program to gain. one request of tech though - can you give us a rough esimate as to when you will have something for us? I check this thread almost daily in hopes of some news on this. |

QUOTE(shareef @ Jan 16 2006, 12:26) Ok, I've tested incoming calls while running both mamece and pocketgnuboy on my SP5. In the end, I was able to receive and end phone calls with both, although the experience was much better with pocketgnuboy. pocketgnuboy: exactly the same experience as in pocketnester - I launched the emu, loaded a rom, started playing and then called my cell. The emu immediately paused my game, and then the incoming dialogue box came on the screen... I accepted the call, and then after hanging up the call I was able to resume my game mamece: I launched the emu, loaded up tempest (fun game!) So, could it be the fact that mamece doesn't incorporate pause/resume and also possibly because it is running full screen instead of windowed, that it doesn't handle incoming calls as elegantly as both pocketnester and pocketgnuboy..?? hrm... try I had the most problems with the picodrive (thats when it restarted on its own) It could just be my phone though, or the fact that i have the games on the phones storage instead of a card (dont have the $$$ for that at the moment). |

could the reasoning be that the European market has taken to mobile phone technology more than America has? I dont know if this is true, but ive heard that some European countrys have done away with land lines because cellular phones are more cost effective. (i dont know if thats true, Ive never gone further outside the US than Canada) While shopping for a new phone I tried to find smartphones in the stores and clerks looked at me like i was a madman when i said there were other devices than blackberrys. I checked ebay, and the audiovox smt 5600 was the one of the very few that was consistantly offered. |

I know this forum is run from somewhere in that dark and mysterious place called "yourope" where people talk strange and wear funny hats (so ive heard). But it seems as though the market for smartphones is nonexistant here in the US. I see lots of business types walking around with blackberrys wearing goofy suits and acting important, but that seems to be as far as it goes here. The only smartphone i was able to find was the audiovox smt 5600 (c500) wich i like, however I would like a phone that has better capability. I cant find any stores or websites for that matter that sell the higher class models (like the c550 or c600). I hear alot of talk about Orange. Are they an all smartphone provider? Is there any reason the smartphone market is so small here? just wondering. edit - adding the obligitory "DONT MESS WITH TEXAS". |

i think my last comment got burried, and it in my opinion warrants a repost.. How do other peoples phones handle when a call is recieved while playing one of the emulators? Mine sort of freeks out and flashes the mainscreen softkey buttons over the emulator, i can usually answer the call, but after im done i have to restart the phone as there is no way of exiting the emulator or even playing it. Is there a way to make it automatically pause the game, and minimize the emulator while a call is recieved? |

did you use software to do it? or where you trying to turn down the volume of your phone and it got dark? that would be kinda frightening. |

I dont know how much it is in the UK, or wherever the hell you orange users reside, but here in the states im with cingular, and they charge me $10 a month for 5mb. 5mb is a bit tiny. $10/month is a bit steep. I dont understand it, but I pay it. im cingulars zombie until my contract runs out. |
