I tried a WM 6.1 ROM on my M700 and lost the ability to send and recieve MMS, Had to go back to WM6. The only difference i found between 6 and 6.1 was the threaded SMS.

I had a look at the elegance ROM but it looked very cluttered with too many programmes preinstalled

I got one of the refurb ones from Orange.
Unfortunately I didn't get any of the accessories with it just the phone and a charger.

But I agree with all that you have said, The phone is really good.

I am using mine with Tom Tom and a program called Memory Map which both use the inbuilt GPS, The only gripe is that Memory map takes too long to get a fix between 90secs and 2 mins but Tom Tom takes about 30 secs??

The screen updates much faster than what i have seen on a mates Touch Dual, with the maps scrolling on Sat Nav software as smooth as you like.

The only thing I am missing is the phone pad software that used to be on my M500, much easier for SMS than taking out the stylus and typing!! Does anyone know how to get this installed on WM5?

I work in one of Royal mails mail centre's and would recommend that you only use special delivery as there is no chance of the package reaching a sorting machine as all special delivery items are kept separate from normal mail. Because these are sorted manually you would need to make sure that it can withstand a drop from height? they tend to be thrown into bags when sorted. If you use normal mail you need to make sure that it is at least 25mm thick to stop it being put into a machine.

E650 and Vista Home Premium and they have synced perfectly since i got the phone.

Bit of a shame that it was only a trial version of Outlook and WMDC doesnt sync with Windows Contacts, sort of forcing you to Buy outlook!!

They are compatible with Word and Excel files as long as you have Dataviz "Documents to go" installed.

I never said paypal were infalible, but there arent really any alternatives which are as flexible. Like i say though, as long as you're careful you *should* be ok (obviously not always though smile.gif)

There may well be an alternative soon.......Google have started a checkout service and it looks as though they are gunning for loads of business offering it free to online shops...

Have tried with bluetooth on and off, with the gps paired and not paired and it stiil wont start?? It doesn't show up in the list of running programs neither.

Any suggestions

Can anybody out there that uses a laptop with Intels GMA 950 graphics chips tell me if they play 3d games well?

I'm after a laptop that I can use for pleasure (ie. games, not neccessarilly brand new games) as well as serious? stuff.

I like the look of the Macbook, does it run windows well? (need windows for the games).

Any comments would be helpful.

thanks

I got an M500 with older software so things may have changed but all my sounds for ringtones and texts are in the windows folder, not sure about the task manager, I use file explorer to send files to others, just keep the stylus pointed at the file and it will show another menu and you just choose "beam file", like i said this is with WM2003SE so things may have changed with WM5.

Hope that helps

What about "xbackup"? This is on my M500 and backs up everything to the SD card, then after a hard reset you just restore. It runs a bit slow but has worked every time I have needed it.

Can anybody tell me how much it costs to get your phone looked at by HTC??

My M500 has stopped showing the lovely operating system and is just showing loads of lines all across the screen, the trouble is that it has been in bits before, thanks to the instructions on this site, to cure a speaker problem, so is out of warranty.

Has anybody here sent a phone for repair? and would mind sharing some prices?

Thanks

Adam.

If it is on Orange there is a program called xbackup (maybe on all magicians, I dunno) which will save all your contacts and appointments onto the SD card, may run a bit slow but will be worth the wait before you hard reset and loose everything, My M500 runs slow sometimes but I use the small reset button on the bottom of the phone to reset it (stick the stylus in the small hole in the bottom right) but I wouldn't see that making any difference?

The same for me, many soft reset with SD card in, no problems.

When I changed to a 1Gb card in my M500 the card would not work properly untill it had been used in the by the PPC and then formatted in a card reader, it was starting programs from the card when it wanted to, After a format all seems well (few days ago now)

I just tried to play a video podcast (*.M4V) in The Core player and it wont play because of missing codec's.

Can someone suggest some software that will play these files (on M500) or a location of where to get the codec's?

Thanks

I have this same problem, but always in the same place on the map. If I go north from my house the software crashes, east west and south it is fine. I think there may be "glitches" in the maps?

Have been told that the 5.2 software update will cure it.

I use TT with a Holux bluetooth GPS reciever and it works very well, If you go off route it reroutes in seconds, is very easy to use, with nice and clear instructions. It even turns the bluetooth on when you start the program up.

No complaints from me, but this is the only satnav software i have used. 8)

Hope it helps
