Guys,

The following works very well to restore the main dialer screen, however it seems not to change the call history screen and the speed dial screen. Any idea on how to de-skin those?

3. Change the value of the above so that that you get: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin\Enabled = 0'

Hi,

I tried this method to have fitaly as a default SIP. When I dod this I systematically have the device getting stuck during boot time and have to hard reset. Any suggestions?

Hello,

I discovered the following issue that I would like to get feedback/thoughts on.

I have a netgear wireless AP (802.11g). My K-Jam (US Tmobile MDA) connects fine to it in b or g mode.

Due to poor coverage in teh house, I added a wireless range expander from linksys (WRE54G v1). My laptop connects fine to the internet either from teh AP or the range expander.

For some reason, the k-jam cannot access the internet if it connectes to the range expander. It finds the network, gets an IP address, but cannot resolve any pages.

Thoughts?

Folks,

I am contemplating puting the latest A2K imate rom on my TMobile MDA. After doing so, is it safe to restore teh system usinga backup done under te previous rom or is that likely to corrupt registry settings?

Also, while we are at it, does anyone have experince with these two roms? how stable is the latest imate rom? My tmobile MDA rom is:
ROM version 1.8.10.2 WWE
ROM date: 12/10/05
Radio Version: 01.09.10
Protocol version: 4.0.13.20

thanks

probabl;y a dumb question, but:

I got my mpx220 on ebay SIM unlocked (I used it on TMobile). Doing the upgrade will not sim lock it again, correct?

If you have Sprite Backup, can you take a backup of your apps/registry/settings with the previous ROM; upgrade the rom, then do a restore? or does that mess up the registry?

I had the same issue with the imate rom and a jabra BT200. The workaround I found is the following: make sure your headset is on before you turn BT on on the E200. In this case, the headset works. If BT is turned on the phone is on before the headset is turned on, the headset would not work.

Don't know if this will work with the Orange update, but it may be worth a shot.

Folks,

Do you know if there are drivers for the eleksen keyboard on the imate smartphone 2. From reading ppcw.net it is unclear if the driver are compatible with the rom in the imate (rom 1.9.15).

Anyone has direct experience?

The minisync for E200 is the same as the minisync for the HTC Himalaya. I remember reading on ppcw.net that there were issues with charhing and that boxwave fixed their model a couple of months back.

I use one and am having no problems at all. You may have a defective minisync.

What APN are you using in your GPRS settings? If you use wap.voicestream.com, it blocks many ports.

You have to use internet2.voicestream.com and make sure your contract allows you too (I find TMobile terminology confusing, not sure if tzone pro @ $9.99/month gives you access to internet2. I ahve the $19.99/mon GPRS plan)

let me know if you need more help with settings

Has anyone been testing the application on a smartphone 2003 device?

I am currently running the trial version and am experiencing a lot of system deadlocks (device hangs, does not respond to incoming calls, need to remove battery to reset).

This seems to happen when PowerCalendar needs to read data about certain days in the calendar. In particular, this happens when:
- The application is open (sometimes)
- Swicthing from single day view to multi day view
- Increasing the # of days of multi day view

asked the question to DeveloperOne support, but did not hear back.

Has anyone observed that?

I actually have an imate device, so it is not locked by Orange.

In terms of installing a certificate for development, I guess I would have to craete an xml description of it. How do I tie that to unprotecting the registry? probably a silly question, but am not a windows developer.

Any certificates available that could be used to do that (quick and dirty approach). I have not used the SDK for dev purposes

Folks,

Couple of questions on registry editing:

- Is there an alternative to PHM regedit on teh device? My issue with it is that it crashes my sm2003 if I do a search throughout the registry (managed to hard reset the machine this way  ). Anyone noticed that too.

- It seems that some areas of the registry are protected. I was trying to create a key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINECommTcpipHosts. Using either PHM or remote regedit from 2003 SDK, I always get an error message stating that a key cannot be created. I can create keys in other areas though.

Any hint?

The reason I want to create that key is in troubleshooting a particular app on my smartphone, which cannot seem to connect to its server (infowave SymmetryPro).

Actually the unit is not approved by Voicestream. They do not offer smartphones yet. Only AT&T offers the MPX200.

In my case, I got this unbranded unit off ebay.

I was thinking: places that may have this firmware (or a newer version of it) are www.clubimate.com or Arne Hess as he resells imate smartphones.

BTW, after trying BT dialup a little more over the weekend, it is not super reliable: Sometimes the connection does not happen and the PPC and Voyager have to be soft-reseted.

I am also impacted on the BT side by the fact that the pairing of my voyager with my BT200 headset does not survive a powercycle of either unit.

Definitely less than impressed by the BT implementation in this unit!

Yes, you are right. You may just have to do the upgarde in bootloader mode to bypass some version check that might be made, other than that, you should be fine.

I did this proceure on an old SPV when I moved from an Orange ROM to an imate ROM on that one.

The trick is to find the ROM installer....

Hi,

This ROM has the following languages: Danish, German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian, portugese, Swedish for T9 and the following for UI: Dutch, Danish, spanish, italian, french, german, US & UK english.

In terms of availability, remember, this being an imate rom, it is not customized to any operator.

Thanks. This sounds much more promising than my experience with the BT200 (which so far as been great with my t68i).

I wish someone can confirm the plantronics M3000 performs just as well. CUrrently there is a much better deal on ebay for that one.

let me kow, guys!

Folks,

Just got my HTC Voyager unit a few days ago and was experimenting with BT dialup from a PPC. Seeing previous reports, I was not very hopeful. However, it turns out I can dial over BT, even without having to manually enter the dial string as suggested in a different post.

I assume this is due to the rev of the ROM of my smartphone.

In case it helps, here is my setup and configuration data:

Smartphone: HTC Voyager, branded by i-mate.
Smartphone 2003, version 4.20.0 (build 13291)
Radio 1.12.00
ROM: operator 1.9.15.1; manufacturer 1.9.15.0, MS 4.20.13291.0; language 1.9.15.0

PocketPC: ipaq 5455, WM 2002.

Mobile operator: TMobile US

Configuration:
Paired the Voyager with the ipaq
Created a dialup as so:
Baud rate 57600. default settings for port settings
Dial number: *99#
Extra dial string: +CGDcont=1,,”internet2.voicestream.com”
(internet2.voicestream.com is TMobile US’s APN)
Connection
- ensure the smartphone is not connected to GPRS (can’t tell you how many times I ran into this duh! Factor)
- open bluetooth manager and select connect to “Smartphone: SSA”

It seems that the dial up has to be consistently retried twice, but then it connects and I can access web pages, email, etc.

Hope this helps.

On my HBH-35 accepting a call is easy but I also accidentally managed to reject a call yesterday too - just held my finger on the button a tad too long .... so I guess that works too.

So, with the HBH-35, you do not have issues of the pairing not being maintained after having power cycled the devices?

Can you just turn both on (after intial pairing obviously) for the headset to be recognized?

Hello,

Is anyone out there using Infowave's Symmetry Pro (corporate mail redirector) on the E200?

It works fine on my ipaq and was working fine on my original SPV, but I have issues with my imate smartphone 2. From the smartphone, I can login to my account but cannot download email.

thoughts?

Folks,

What is the final word on the Jabra BT200. The headset seems to work for me except that the pairing is no longer recognized if I turn the heaset off or teh E200 off. Has anyone solved that issue. From the posts on the forum it seems that some people have experienced that, others maybe not.

What is the best BT headset to get for an E200. Can anyone confirm that their headset does not loose pairing after being turned off and on ?

Of the following headser, which one would you recommend and which one guarantees that I can accept/reject calls from the headset:

Sony Ericsson HBH 65
Sony Ericsson HBH 35
Plantronics M3000
Others?

thanks

Folks,

Just wanted to doublecheck: Is the bottom connector for the E200 similar to that of teh E100 and original SPV? i.e. can I use the same cradle, USB sync cable and power adapter?
