I never thought I would say this... but the Vario II has driven me crazy and maybe away from windows mobiles for a while. I loved my Compact II, it was something of a joy to use, in fact, but this hunk o junk is the buggiest thing I've ever used! It crashes all the time, it cuts calls off constantly, the battery lasts literally 4 hours. I'm getting a SE k850i instead - still have push email and internet, but hopefully without soft resetting 5 times a day!!!! Roll on simplicity! |

Click on the settings button in the camera application (The little spanner), and then select "capture settings" (The little picture of the person, being pointed to with a magic wand), and then the menu for increasing the resolution is there. Also make sure you have selected video camera and not mms video. |

Pester power is getting there slowly but surely...just received this email (on a Sunday - poor buggers!!!): QUOTE Hello Impy, Thank you for your further Email. There have been discussions regarding a ROM update for the MDA Vario to to Windows Mobile 6, however there has been no clarification as to whether T-Mobile will be providing this as yet. Any ROM update that is available for any of T-Mobile`s SDA and MDA range of handsets will always be updated onto the following T-Mobile run download website, the link for this is as follows: www.tm-phonedownloads.com I would recommend trying this site periodically for any updates or possibly enquire at a later date for any developments. Thank you for contacting T-Mobile Cathy and if we can help further please do not hesitate to contact us. Best regards Customer services bod T-Mobile Come everyone who hasn't done it already, email t-mobile!!!! |

Just a thought, close WM player and delete the folders MSMETADATA and WMDRM from the storage card and also if there is a microsoft folder (Check its contents first - should be media related) in the Application Data folder in the main memory. Launch WM player again and update library (it might tell you that you need to anyway) and see how you get on....otherwise see my previous post about xda devs. Matt I love you!!! |

I spoke too soon. When accessing the audio files via the Windows Explorer, I still get the error message. The only way I can play my music files is if I open Media Player first, then choose Library. Any other suggestions? I have got a similar, but slightly different problem: I synched my music as normal to my card, but when i go into media player and try to open my music from there, it brings up the error message "The system cannot find the file specified" I have not used any other music programmes on it. I have tired to re-synch it to no avail, and when I select "Update library", it finds all the music, but then crashes when it tries to add it to the library.... |

I am starting early on my upgrade plans this year, as I would like to be able to talk myself into a really good deal, so I need preperation...... I am coming up to the end of my 18 month flext 35 contract (with web n walk) in May. I usually spend £10 over my line rental each month...... What i would like (in my wildest dreams!!!) is the T-Mobile Ameo, either free, or at a (heavily) discounted price. If not, my second choice is an MDA Vario II (loving the windows mobile!!!) And my last choice would be a Nokia N95, but only if the chips are really down!!! Any suggestions, please?? |

have you been using a lot of the preinstalled software? calendar, options, games, addy book etc? the main memeory reduces according to how many progs you have open, WM5 doesnt close progs when you hit the X only minimizes them if you go to start>settings>system>memory>running youll see all the progs that are still open, you can close each seperately or all running sorry if this is teaching you to suck eggs if it isnt a case of this, have you tried a soft reset? hard reset? Not at all! Just happy to get a reply. No, when i check with running programmes, the only thing running is Activesynch, which I can't close! |

For some reason, the main memory on the MDA compact II keeps fluctuating wildly - for instance, first thing this morning it was at 21.4mb, it then when down to 0.002mb in the space of an hour! I wouldn't mind, but i hadn't installed anything, taken any pictures - NOTHING that would take up memory like that! Can any one help? |

1. The schedule settings in activesync- how do these affect the "push" / GPRS frequency? Or if the push setting is on, do the schedule settings have no effect? You need to set the schedule settings to "as Mail arrives", or it won't do the pushing the mail through thingy. |

As for SPB Weather, do you have the latest version? Mine works fine now, I used to have an older one, but I downloaded the new version and it works great I'm going to get that, I'm just waiting for a weather.com source to pop up for itas the town where I live doesn't seem to exist on any of the others. Mind you, that said, I'm moving to London in a couple of weeks, so I imagine that will be included in most of them! |
