have a look at this post from james :

Oook, well it basically allows you to have certain plugins on the same line which you usually couldn't, can shortcut to programs and can do an sms popup, the main reason it is so good is that you can line stuff up horizontally as well as vertically so.
For Xp:
Useful to have desktop icons that can scroll up/down and left/right
Useful to have a shortcut and time on the same row at the top.

QUOTE(Jamma14 @ Jan 29 2006, 20:49)
You can't put more than one space in a row in MoDaCo posts. wink.gif

To do list:
1. Add Start Menu (more shortcuts and MRU plugin)
2. Edit RJTime clock
3. Edit smartmonitor, and its bgimage, maybe include a bar of some sort for the battery
4. Extra screens
5. Make WM5 totally compatible xml
6. Xbar 3 skin? biggrin.gif

I've also gotta fully WM5-ilise the mac screen, and include startup etc screens for that, and install it on the sd card.
Please vote in the poll in the smartphone customisation general discussion section for which homescreen you think should have priority.

Yeh go for making the xbar 3 skin and I'll be glad to include it in the release.

cool, james is back hehe

i figured out that we do not have to change coordinates for wm5... just put in "dd mmm yyyy" some more spaces ;-)
problem with the font is solved, too....i used paint for editing the jpg. i tried it with photoshop and no more problems with fading color..

xbar3 is a very nice tool, i'll try to create a skin for it and we can put it into your cab, too..may be design like windows taskmanager..

pls can you post your to do list for this skin? i'm curios what comes next wink.gif

exactly what i needed ;-) works perfectly on my wm5 device ;-)
just a few corrections...
1) problems with font in owner bit (color fades from blue to white, last letter of "your name" not visible)
2) position of month and year ist incorrect, must be little more to the right
3) the popup for sms/calls is imho a little bit too small
4) maybe it's better to put cursor focus on "my computer", not on "start"after activating homescreen

really good work james ;-)

what about implementing a skin for xbar3?

Email & Attachments on Storage Card
Forgive me if this has been posted before. Or if you all know this. I used to do this on my PPC before I got my smartphone (sp5). I just tried it to see if it would work and it does  smile.gif
Create the folders on your Storage Card '\Storage Card\Inbox' and the subfolder '\Attachments'
Import the registry keys as below. (try Registry Workshop and you can connect to Mobile device registries from your PC and import reg files. This saves having a Registry editor installed on the phone and typing on the device). If you are entering these keys manually rather than importing a *.reg file only use single slashes for the paths. Restart your device after doing this.
CODE
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MAPI]
"AttachPath"="\\Storage Card\\Inbox\\Attachments"
"PropertyPath"="\\Storage Card\\Inbox"

This not only puts email attachments onto your storage card but puts all the *.mpb files which make up items in your Inbox onto the storage card too. This means I now sync the last month of complete emails (1362 of them!) from all folders on my Exchange server and it doesn't make a dent in the phone memory.

does this work for sms , too? if not...how can i move sms folder to storage card?

i think it would be good for both, the xp and the mac hs because if i want to use both they use almost 2 megs.. pretty much...and i think everyone who uses a smartphone has a storage card..
smartmonitor won't work? sad.gif what about batplugin? i think a battery-/signal-indicator on hs is essential..maybe right beside the clock. or do you think it is too much information on the "taskbar" ?

ok...that's a bit too much...1.5 megs...but i think when xp hs is ready it is a real killer-hs and you don't need any other hs tongue.gif

isn't it possible to outsource the \application data\home folder to storage card? then users won't give a damn if 1 or 1,5 meg

anyway, i can't await to get this hs smile.gif

QUOTE(Jamma14 @ Jan 22 2006, 10:05)
Yeah! Great work!
Ok I'll attatch the mac one in a minute or two as well.
The reason the links don't work is because at the moment they are linked to :
(My Computer) - \Windows\Start Menu\Smart Explorer.lnk
(Notepad) - \Windows\Start Menu\Accessories\Orneta Notepad.lnk

Where would you like me to link them to?

I'll then upload a fixed XP one for you as well.

Ps. Yeah it works! biggrin.gif

Pps.Yeah popups and that I'm still working on - XP is proving to be a little harder than the Mac one as it has to move across and downwards and there is a stupid bug in the e200 plugin that I have to work around.
Next version should be up in a week or so.
And I'll update them both with WM5 instructions and xmls.

James

james,

i think currently there is no version of orneta notepad for wm5 :-( i think we have to find a different notepad app for wm5 xp...
for normal users that don't know how to edit xml it's better to point to standard sysapps, what do you think?

1 week...sounds great! ;-) i can't await to get this perfect hs fully functional! currently the best looking hs!

have a look at this one here for 2003se -> http://www.mobilejoe.de/joeforums/showthread.php?t=15926
this one has a really cool startmenu and a shutdown popup... what about implementing such a cool startmenu popup app in your xp hs?

Can you explain how to do this for those of us that are hard of thinking like me??  smile.gif

it's quite easy... you need the attached wm5_regsvrce.exe, put it into \application data\home as well as the 4orangeh.dll. this regsvr does not have a UI, so you have to register the dll manually. open resco explorer 2003 (there is a trial on resco homepage) , select the regsvrce but don't execute! use menu -> file -> run and enter under "arguments" 4orangeh.dll , pres ok and restart your device... that's it ;-)
