Using Activesync is the best way to transfer your contacts. Sync M600 to your laptop then your laptop to M700 If you purchased SPB software for your M600 and still have the installtion files then use the same method to install it on your M700. Shouldn't be any compatibility issues. I'm using WM6.1 Elegance. So far no problems. |

I used to have an E200 (Pre C500) until I lost it. I've since used the charger as a spare for my C500, C550, M600 and now M700. Never had a single problem. |

1. The "Must Have" applications are mostly down to personal choice and what you intend to do with your phone. For me though I couldn't live without TomTom, Total Commander (file explorer software because built in file explorer is rubbish) PsShutXP (a phone reset app) efrost FTouchFlo (finger scrolling software) to name but a few. 2. I can't advise, only to say that TomTom works a treat. 3. Not sure 4. My 4GB card went tits up so I bought a 2GB. So far so good. Installing apps is done using the phone itself. The setup files can be copied to your phone or card using the Activesync software that comes with the phone or using a card reader. 5. You can copy the TomTom data to your 2GB card and still have plenty of space for other stuff. 6. If you didn't get a wall charger then it's not a new phone. You get one as standard from new. 7. I've never had a cradle so can't answer. You should as standard get a USB sync cable with the phone that charges when the PC is on. Hope this helps. |

My TOPRAM 4GB mini SD worked for 6 months in my Trin then died, I've now bought a 2GB Sandisk. One thing I noticed straight away is the improved speed in starting TomTom. |

I use my mymobiler http://www.mymobiler.com/ It displays an exact replica of your phone screen on your monitor. You can then use your keyboard and mouse to fully control your phone. (Much quicker for typing SMS) It works upon synchronisation with activesync and it's free! |

The steps I was advised to take are as follows: 1. Extract mUn_rus' .exe file on your pc 2. Establish an activesync connection 3. Run the RomUpdateUtility.exe file that was extracted in step 1 from your pc 4. If you get an error message run the RomUpdateUtility.exe again. I have done this three times now with different roms with no problems. Hope this helps. |

I use NoniGPSPlot http://aeguerre.free.fr/Public/PocketPC/No...ot/download.php (french site but english download available) I just tested it by acquiring a signal, pressing standby, leaving it for an hour and pressing standby again. The signal was still there. And best of all it's FREE! |

Hi all, I tried to flash WM6 on my new SPV M700 but now Windows doesn't work at all. When I power on the device it does't get further than the Orange splash screen. How can I restore or flash it further? Your help is very appreciated. If you're still getting an orange splash screen then you haven't flashed WM6. Which rom did you try and what steps did you take? |

HI, could you tell me where you got your screen from, my daughter sunk her teeth into mine That's one expensive dummy! @Terminal, why don't you do it under warranty? Failing that you could download the zip file from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311463 It's a nice guide for dismantling the Trinity in pdf format |

There is an Italian WM6 rom that you can install here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=309595 Once installed your phone should be network free. PLEASE NOTE THAT INSTALLING IT WILL INVALIDATE YOUR WARRANTY! That said, I have installed WM6 and never looked back. |

I am on a WM6 rom and already have those registry entries. Have a look at the attached screenshot and see if yours is similar.
Wirelesstoday.bmp ( 150.06K )
Number of downloads: 45Mine appears to have two extra Dword values, 'options' and 'flags' not sure if adding these will make a difference but worth a try. Remember that the "Wireless" entry should include the "inverted commas" Make sure that you have the netui.dll file in your Windows folder. You mentioned in one of your posts that "ANY" changes you make revert back to default when you soft reset. Does this still happen? Have you tried any other changes? |

No, it's not locked. As long as you have a registry editor you are free to change just about anything. If you direct me to the plugin that you're trying to install I'll try to simulate what you're doing to see if I get the same. BTW are you running the original Orange rom? |

Is the plugin not just a cab file? Have you tried changing anything else in the registry? I've had Resco now for 3 different devices with no problems. |

This is actually the first non official rom that i have ever installed but I've read alot on the forums about people bricking devices. The developers on these sites now created the roms in such a way that it is virtually impossible to brick a device anymore. That is not to say that it will not happen to you but the sheer amount of people that have successfully installed a Trinity WM6 rom speaks for itself. Everything that I had installed on WM5 is now installed on WM6 with no compatibility issues. For A2DP, I use mine in conjunction with my bluetooth car stereo with good results (finally), I've never used a headset or headphones so I can't really comment. There is plenty of information about this on the forums and I think it depends on which model you choose. Texting is a bit of a pain but I don't send a lot of texts. There is various phonepad software that you can install but I've never found one that I can get on with. Wifi works a treat. I have the white one and love it. No flakey paint and a bit of an ipod feel about it. I haven't managed to scratch it yet, whether thats a testament to it's durability or I've just been lucky...I guess time will tell. |

You can actually go one better than that and actually install the WM6 OS on the M700, that's what I have done. It's been installed for about a week now and so far has been excellent. The WM6 platform is somewhat smoother than WM5 and has added features. A2DP is improved as well (At least in the way I use it) People have reported problems with video calling in that the recipients’ image is rotated by 45-90 degrees on the screen amongst other minor bugs but none that effect me and I don’t know anyone else with video call facilities. The rom is available here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=359 and there are a choice of two different ones (I’m using mun-rus) A word of warning though, INSTALLING THESE ROMS WILL INVALIDATE YOUR WARRANTY. The choice is yours. Like you I went from the SPV to the E200, C500 and C550. At the time I could never see myself going back to a Nokia or any other non WM based device. I then went from the C550 to the M600 (M700 predecessor) Now I have the M700 and I would never go back to a smartphone. The only gripe I have about the M700 is that it doesn’t have an FM radio |

Hey, Is there a Brodit holder out for the Trinity yet, or does it use the same holder as the SPV m600/Prophet ? Cheers Blakey There is a brodit holder for the Trinity and it has a different part number to the prophet holder. I have the prophet holder and my Trinity fits but it's a bit loose. When I get chance I'm gonna pack it out with a couple of layers of sellotape or something similar. |

For those of you who have a Pocket PC and a Pioneer Bluetooth car stereo and are having trouble connecting them over Bluetooth, the following guide worked for my HTC Prophet and the Pioneer DEH P75BT. STEP 1 The Pocket PC’s (or PDA’s) will connect to the pioneer but you have to do this manually every time you get in your car. To set your Pocket PC to be automatically detected by your pioneer when Bluetooth is switched on, you must do the following: The problem: The vario II identifies itself as a PDA bluetooth device. The pioneer modules are searching for a phone or smartphone, so it just ignores the Vario II. Solutions: Change the COD (Class of Device) from a PDA device to a smartphone device. This can be done this way: 1. First make sure you've got a backup, or remember all settings you change in the registry. 2. Edit with a registry editor the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\SY S\COD By default my vario II does have the value: 1048852 (decimal) Change this to: 5374476 (decimal). 3. Soft restart your device 4. Voila! Your device now identifies itself as a smartphone, and my pioneer unit finds it without problems. Source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=290871 Note: Remember to set Bluetooth to discoverable every time you get into your car otherwise the stereo will not find your phone automatically. STEP 2 Follow the instructions in the pioneer manual regarding storing your phone settings in the pioneer. STEP 3 Use the method below to send contact names and numbers to the stereo Use outlook First do a Select All on your contacts* You may have more than 1000 contacts and if so may wish to break this up into one or two attempts to provent overloading the PC.* Then choose Action->Forward as VCard On the mail that appears choose File-> Save Atachments. Save the VCFs to a folder and move them to the M600. In the car use SmartExplorerEN and Select All the VCFs. Choose Send Files Via Bluetooth and the Headunit will appear in the list. Send them all to the HU Source: http://www.modaco.com/Streaming-audio-to-c...th-t243394.html STEP 4 If you wish to utilise the pioneer streaming music function over Bluetooth (BT Audio) you must have A2DP. For devices that don’t support A2DP as standard, you need to install something like the Tornado A2DP program or any other update that will enable A2DP. Source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...p=931278#275438 STEP 5 If like me you wish to get in your car turn on Bluetooth and drive, meanwhile the pioneer connects itself for handsfree, the phone recognises that handsfree is connected so connects the BT Audio, opens Windows Media Player (or other media player) and starts playing music from your device, then you’ll want to write a script and run it on your device using Mortscript. Found here: http://www.sto-helit.de/modules/edito/content.php?id=38 Here’s mine: VariableValue = 0 #Check if Handsfree profile is switched on While (1) HandsFreeEnabled = RegRead("HKLM", "System\State\Hardware", "Handsfree") If (HandsFreeEnabled = 1 && VariableValue = 0) #Close Windows Media Player if open If WndExists Windows Media Close "Windows Media" EndIf #Connect A2DP Wireless Stereo Run "Windows\Shortcut to bluetooth devices.lnk" Sleep 3000 MouseDown "Settings", 39, 106 Sleep 1000 MouseUp "Settings", 39, 106 Sleep 500 SendUp SendCR Sleep 2000 MouseDown "Settings", 106, 39 Sleep 500 MouseUp "Settings", 234, 39 Sleep 1000 Close "Settings" Sleep 2000 #Open Windows Media Player and start playing a track Run "\windows\wmplayer.exe" Sleep 2000 MouseClick "Windows Media", 56, 33 Sleep 500 MouseClick "Windows Media", 56, 33 Sleep 2000 MouseClick "Windows Media", 39, 279 VariableValue = 1 EndIf #Close Windows Media Player if Headset profile is disabled If (HandsFreeEnabled = 0 && VariableValue = 1) Close "Windows Media" VariableValue = 0 EndIf Sleep 5000 EndWhile PRO’S 1. The handsfree function works extremely well. The person on the other end is very clear and the volume of their voice is easily adjusted using the pioneer volume control. 2. Voice dialing works very well. 3. The BT Audio is very clear and sounds excellent in the car. (I don’t carry CD’s in the car anymore, all my music is stored on my 4GB SD card) CON’S: 1. If you make or receive a call while playing music using BT Audio, the music mutes but then starts to jump and skip once the call is ended and BT Audio is resumed, or sometimes it will disconnect completely and the music starts to play from the phone. 2. Very occasionally after initial connection, the audio will only be distributed to the left hand speakers in my car. If this happens, a soft reset of the phone and pioneer does the trick. 3. Some people have told me that my voice is a bit echo'y when speaking via the stereo. A REQUEST If anybody can tell me the registry change that takes place once A2DP Wireless Stereo is connected to a device I would be very grateful as I wish to integrate a command into my mort script that detects when the BT Audio has disconnected and re-connect it automatically. |
