My Orange SPV M5000 is reporting No GSM on the initial Orange boot screen, then No Service in Windows, if I switch to flight mode the phone will not switch back and then I have to to a soft reset to get it back. I have tried various orange contract and PAYG SIMS and have completed a cold reset on the device and still get the same result. Is this likley to be a hardware issue or a porblem with the ROM? I can still get a wireless connection to the local hotspot, just no GSM\GPRS
If it's a ROM issue would flashing to the latest version from Orange fix it?
Thanks
Richard

I have a GARMIN GPS10 Bluetooth GPS device, it's a great device and more than a match for the TOMTOM with the new QUE software (my girlfriends TOMTOM 910 always gives a few wrong turns), however I cannot get it to pair with my M5000. It works perfectly with my old M2000.

The M5000 locates the device and prompts for the code and after a couple of seconds of frantic activity on the GPS device, both the devices go their separate ways.

Garmin have advised that the process I'm following is correct, Orange Tech Support have no idea what the problem might be and washed their hands of the problem.

I've changed the Registry to show the GPS control panel in Settings/Connections but I can't get far enough to redirect the com ports.

It's getting very frustrating, and carrying both devices is getting a bit ofa pain. I would be eternally gratefull for any help

I've received my M5000 from Orange a couple of days ago and sent a MMS message to a friend to make sure the config was set up correctly. The message was sent correctly and delivered, after a short delay, via the Vodafone network. However, my friend has now received 14 copies of the picture, which has been delivered at random times of day and night, during the last 2 days (and is now getting v p*ss*d off and demanded beer in compensation and at a pint a text this could get expensive sad.gif ). The target phone was non 3G.

I have reported it to Orange, who hasve passed it on to their Tech Support.

Has anyone else encountered this problem

My M2000 frequently completes a hard reset when I swap the batteries over. Initially I thouught 'doh!, you let the backup battery run down you idiot'. so I now always check the state of the batteries prior to removing the main battery and low and behold the reset still happens.

I just reported this to Orange and was told:

"This is a fault with the SPV and there's nothing we can do!"

To which I replied

"Why do I have a spare battery then, is it just an easy way to initiate a hard reset?"

A short and slighlty heated discission ensued but I didn't get a replacement as the repalcement would have this issue. :x

Does anyone else have this problem?

Just updated to this ROM and it seems OK. Only time will tell I suppose
