Don't believe the website when it says out of stock... I notice lots of people on this forum seem to use Orange's website as an indication of Orange's stock levels. Traditionally, their website orders are fulfilled from a different stock base (once upon a time by a completely different company, in fact) and so it's always worth actually phoning Orange to check their stock levels. |

Only problem I have found so far with the 650 is trying to get it app unlocked and some of my old game favourites installed. Everytime I try and run the unlock from the Orange france site the phone says it is installed successfully and it has been disabled, but when I press okay to return to the homescreen the coloured timer pops up and the phone won't go any further This also happened trying to install SPV pacman and summat else I can't remember but it was late last night I had this problem. Using Orange France's unlock tool does app unlock the phone, but seems to break the phone's installer in the process, so whenever you install something, it installs sucessfully, but gets stuck on the timer. You can press Home and carry on using the phone, but can't install anything else until you've rebooted the phone. As far as I can see, Orange's unlock tool does too much to the security policies, inserting some massive numbers into the registry. I used Mobile Registry Editor to get all the policy settings off a working HTC S710 and them changed my E650 to match. MRE will work once you've used the Orange unlock tool. Mine seems to be working okay now, although I've not tested it extensively. It's a shame Orange have blacklisted regeditSTG as that's so much easier to use. Managed to app unlock the HTC S710 with it no problem! |

Jeyo works almost OK here. I get an error on the device, but then i click OK and most of Jeyo's features work. I can't get task manager to show the processes but SMS, Contacts, History etc are OK. Interesting. I wonder what I'm doing wrong? I get a prompt on the phone saying that an untrusted program is trying to run, should it be allowed? I answer yes to that, but Jeyo then sites there on "Starting device agent..." I've tried it both my E650 and an S710 I happen to have for a few days. Seems to be the same on both. If it works for you though, I'll invest some time having a fiddle around with it. Thanks! EDIT: No, definately can't get it to work. I did a full reset of the HTC S710 back to factory defaults, did a fresh install Jeyo Mobile Companion, and it still hangs on "Starting device agent..." What version of ActiveSync are your using? And what build number of Jeyo? This is bothering me, as fear of losing my texts is about the only thing stopping me from playing around with the internals a bit... |

Jeyo Mobile Companion 1.1 Doesn't seem to be able to start the remote agent on the phone. Tried this on an app unlocked device too, still the same problem. I'm guessing they've changed the way SMS's are managed in WM6 and the agent chokes. Shame, as I like to start backing up my texts. |

Dude, you need to set turn off wifi not connectin in : never. He wants to turn of the beep, not change the way his Wi-Fi is managed. I'm finding this beep annoying. Seems to do it when you make a call as well. Doesn't matter how quite you've got all the sounds set (other than silent, of course!), the beep still blasts out across the room. |

My E650 also has a microSD card installed. It's a Sandisk 128mb. The programs/files are not lost if you take it out to have a look and put it back. Also there is no mention on the box. Well done Orange! Not that you can do a lot with 128Mb, but yeah, it's a pleasant surprise! I noticed it when I fired the camera up for the first time and it asked me where it should save the pictures. |

On other forums is said that orange delivered the e650 withouth Orange ROM as you can see in settings - about there is no operator rom. S710 has same Rom as e650. Mine doesn't seem to have the Orange Homescreen. It's got an option under Home Screen layout for "Orange" but that just changes the standard Windows Home Screen colours to the Orange ones (making it look like WM2003 in the process!) Mine definitely has an Orange ROM. It's been badly branded to within an inch of it's life and lacks Messenger. On the subject of branding (sorry, this'll be off-topic) why oh why did they think it was a good idea to replace half the icons? I could live with all of them being Orangified, but now I have this hybrid screen with some grey and orange, and some bright and colourful. It looks really unprofessional. |

QUOTE(sepecat @ Feb 14 2006, 12:55) Is it possible to get this new version of firmware? I have old version (8.2.1.10) and I cant use GPRS and MMS. I am very very angry! Has it ever worked for you? I have this problem, but it did work for a few months when I first got the phone. If I try to use Internet Explorer, it just says "alert The page you are looking for cannot be found" without even trying to connect. This affects all internet-based services on the phone. I've spent ages with Orange CS going through all the settings manually and they're all fine. I've tried taking the battery out with it still turned on (I think he was getting desparate) and they've sent me SIM updates. Still no luck. Today, I think they're going to tell me to try a hard reset, which I'm not too keen on. I also think it was the last time I had to hard reset the phone that started all this! |
