Thanks for the tutorial mate! That may be the reason why my beloved device still works after being dumped in the bath tub. I took it apart, left it for a few hours in front of a ventilator and looki looki - good as new! Cheers! |

Hello there again! I was using til now a SPV C550 and was really happy with it. But recently I got the M600 and I miss a feature I used to see on my smartphone. It is that auto profile changing whenever I got something in my calendar. Since the M600 doesn't really have profiles (or at least cant find them) it is hard for me to understand how to force the device to mute itself from 9-12 every Tuesday for example. I guess I should be looking for third party programs, but the thing about that is ... will they support my current calendar, or i will have to manage two separate calendar applications? And I don't want the program to be running the whole time since this will cost me processor time and battery life. I like to have all my apps closed after something done. So, what do you think ... anyone had an experience? I don't want to change back to using the smartphone, although the only differences speaking for the pocket PC are the touchscreen and the WiFi functionality. Thanks! |

Hi, I am planing to do some traveling, so i thought, maybe there is a better way to charge my iPod, getting iPod charger seems a waste of money.. so this is what i thought, it will be really nice if someone can confirm it. Using a usb switch to connect the spv charger with the iPod and charge it without the need of a pc powered usb. What i am afraid of is that the power source of the spv's charger may be too high for the iPod and by that i could harm my iPod. Is that so, or its the very same power, as it is meant to be used with an iPod? Thanks in advance for the replies! |

Hi this is an easy one the key to it is to make sure when you make an apoitment you set your self to "busy" for this amount of time. then in profiles you set it to automatic and thats it all done. i use it all the time on my c550 i hope this helps. Wow! It sure is easy, thanks for helping mate, i appreciate that! Really nice feature. |

Hello there again! Well, i am kinda stuck while trying to force my phone (C550) to change the current profile when an event from the calendar occurs. I've searched the forum, but all i found were notes to change in the options for the profiles the auto switch profile option. Well, maybe i'm having problems with my eyes, but i can't find even options in the profile menu. In the calendar there is also no sign of option for having the profile change upon starting a meeting or whatsoever. Can someone please help me out, or explain me how can i do that. All i want is to have my phone switch the profile form normal to silent, silent being the time i am at the university, which i have already filled out in the calender. Thanks a lot! |

We are talking different worlds here. The one (c550) is a Smartphone, without a touchscreen, with smaller CPU capacity ... but great design taking in mind how big it is. The M1500 you are pointing at is a PocketPC, which makes it different from the c550 for many reasons. Speaking of the OS - yes, different platforms with better use for the pocketPC version thanks to the implementation of the touchscreen, different processor architecture, the first thing i can think of is the "right click" which is very handy indeed. M1500 as far as I know supports also WiFi, which makes it even more usable (assuming you know how to take advantage of the technology). The real question you should ask yourself is how bad you need a PocketPC with all the pros (functionality, screen size, CPU power) and negs (size, weight, price) or choose the smaller variant and still have quite a good choice of functions in a really small format. |

I do not have this dock, but just a thought.. are you sure you're plugging the usb cable into the PC? Because although the dock has its own power adapter, it needs an usb powered source to charge your phone (pretty lame if you ask me). |

QUOTE(pd.ryder @ Feb 15 2006, 13:48) Hmmm, spying eh? Not quite what you wanted but have a look at this:- [attachment=17764:attachment] I'm sure it's freeware, probably off this site. Ignore it's title - it works well as a covert listening device that's quite interesting, but there are two major problems with this tool. First of, it seems it has been developed for the older smartphone generation (with the lower resolution) and it is quite difficult to edit the settings on the menus. And secondly it gets the job somehow done, but doesn't work for free, i mean the calls it generates are just as regular as any other call. But still an interesting tool, could come handy someday, thanks for sharing! And yet, no implementation for the audio transport over bluetooth link to a PC? I can't believe no one has ever done this before? |

Ok, this is a bit strange, but why not? 1)I've searched a lot, but never find even something similar to what I need. Is there a software product, that allows you to listen on your PC to what the phone currently is listening while connected to ActivSynch (preferred bluetooth connection)? 2)And even a step further, using the phone as a microphone (maybe and speaker) for skype or any kind of messenger. I believe that the bandwidth can allow this, keeping in mind how the bluetooth handsfree works. Even if the second thought doesn't work, the first is still a good one, I don't know - for spying ... hehe. Any help appreciated! |

QUOTE(mr_nice! @ Feb 6 2006, 19:26) Bought one of the 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter with mic (ebay No: 5861408529), doesn't work  . Why does no one make any products for the C550. Hm, that adapter should work. Do you get no sound at all, or the sound still comes from the handset as if there was no adapter plugged in? |

QUOTE(mini_man @ Feb 8 2006, 17:14) Agree, I just made a small test with mine on my neighbour's PC. While ActiveSynch was initialising the connection, I was prompted to enter my phone password on the PC. Great feature btw. I kinda like those security freaks out there. If something can be protected without any harm - why not? |

I think I know what you mean. I have the following problem: Say I am using a transparent Iconbar (the bar, where the battery/signal strength is shown). So the background must fit exactly except for the two buttons at the bottom line(240x293). If I copy the background picture to the Storage/Application Data/Home directory everything works out like a charm. ![]() But if I use the built-in Orange "Multimedia Album" (version 3.00 build 20017) and choose the option Menu->Save As->Home Screen the picture appear on the home screen but pinned underneath the buttons, so a grey space appear at the top side. ![]() I have attached two screenshots to explain what I mean. So the thing is - if you really stick on having a transparent top bar, you should manually add background pictures only in the home directory and choose them trough the homescreen settings function. Please correct me if I am wrong, or someone has an idea. P.S. Sorry for my english. Hope you folks get the idea  |

What exactly means that the imea is locked? If someone tries to register in the Orange network the attempt will be refused? Does this work on other providers? What about abroad? You should keep an eye on eBay, i have had a friend, who found his phone on the eBay (the phone had an unique scratch) and with the help of eBay and the police everything worked out. Worth a try! |

QUOTE(Dark Horse @ Jan 30 2006, 12:25) I don't see the point in this. What bugs are we talking about and where are the people clamouring for ROM updates? Often, it appears that people want a ROM upgrade just for the hell of it when it doesn't really offer anything useful in the way of bug fixes or functionaility. Indeed, one of the C500 ROM updates actually made the handset slower if I recall! And as Mr Warner said, Orange don't entertain the idea of petitions forcing them to release ROM's for whatever reason. I've not had any probs with the C550 so am curious as to what bugs a ROM upgrade would fix. Regards, Dark Horse Well, why don't you look at the volume problems section. After all, it is a phone we are talking about. What kind of phone will it be, if you can't put your ear on it? |

QUOTE(Metoo @ Jan 29 2006, 03:17) So the obvious question (being wary of the rules in this forum) is, has anyone asked O if this is going on general release? If not, Where? How? Yeah, right. How can I get those newer ROM versions if Orange never release them. Maybe there is some way you could extract the ROM and share with the others. Does the phone with the new version have the same problem with the volume? If not - that will be quite a good solution to the problem, right? |
