Where can you get V7 maps from? The official TomTom site does not seem to list them yet.

KS20 is due to be available from Expansys on 13 March

There seem to be a few issues kicking around with the graphics, similar to recent HTC devices.

Hopefully a ROM upgrade will sort this out.

There are rumors flying around that this phone will not be coming to the UK at all

http://yedda.com/questions/nokia_n95_lg_mo...0_8629456561718

This is a big dissapointment for me as the KS20 ticked all the boxes for my next phone

The Erato is now showing as December on pdadb.net. The 9150 is showing as November but there is fat chance of that being correct.

It looks to me as though both these devices are vapourware, which is a shame as I really want a clamshell form factor.

There are mentions of an Imate X-series Navajo lurking on the internet but that seems even less likely to go into production.

Why is no-one producing MS Mobile clamshells????

Funnily enough PDADB list this one as having GPS - NMEA.

Surely some mistake?

The release date on the 9150 has gone to October 2007 on PDADB.net

The release date on the Erato is still showing as July 2007 but everything is very quiet on this phone

Does anyone have any more info?

Are there any other clamshell / flip smartphones on the horizon?

Finally, a smartphone that just about has everything. A shame about wifi, but yay for GPS and HSDPA. I wonder how long it will be before the Wings (3G/GPS version of the Vox/S710) appears...

I hope they change the front of this phone - pre-release pictures were pretty ugly!

I Mate Ultimate
I like the 9150
its almost perfection in a handset
check it out here

The 9150 looks a bit big and square to me. Also - no GPS, which I think the Erato has.

At least the 9150 looks like it might get released. The Erato seems to have dropped off the radar!

Are there any other flip style windows mobile smartphones out there, other than the 8500?

Anyone have any info on when the Erato might be released in the UK?

The pictures I have seen so far look pretty ugly but it is the only handset that has all the features I am looking for, unless anyone knows of any other forthcoming flip / clamshell types running windows mobile?

I am using some Logitech wireless headphones which work well - track skip & volume included.

Originally I went to the device options on the phone to "set as wireless stereo". This takes a few clicks but produces a wireless stereo icon on the phone.

I have now discovered it is possible to get the music to the headphones simply by clicking the pairing button on the headphones. However the "stereo" icon does not appear and it may be that just mono sound is being received.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

I am in the UK using O2 and have not noticed the problem yet although to be fair I have not looked particularly hard for it!

Do all 8500s have this problem? I would prefer not to have flash the rom as I would lose all of the settings!

The only odd thing I noticed the other day was the phone looking for a network in an area with full coverage.

I have not noticed this problem. How long does the phone have to "hibernate" before it starts to miss calls?

My ROM is 1.02.252.1

Screen is the same size and rez as the SP5, but the border around it does make it seem a bit smaller (an optical illusion if you will)

Smartflip screen size also seems the same size as my current mpx200 - ie 2.2" diagonal

This phone must be somewhat bigger than the mpx200, even if it is a lot flatter

Here are some photos of the Asus and Imate phones.

Looking forward to getting more details on sizes and release dates

Am I right in thinking the Imate has a detuned version of 3G (EDGE)

This looks interesting as an alternative to imate Smartflip - a bit more chunky but maybe more powerful

Shame that the screen looks small and that the keys look plasticy.

Any idea when it is due for release?

u cud always download the tracks from somewhere else.such as ares, limeewire or any other file sharing software. then u can use them on amy program and put them on ur fone wiv no probs.

It seems stupid that by legally downloading the files from Microsoft's approved website I am then prevented by Microsoft's own software from putting them on to the logical place in my Microsoft Smartphone, ie the storage card.

Will activesync 4 help?

Might mediaplayer 11 help (if it is ever released?)

Does no-one else have this problem, in which case it might be my setup?

If you buy music from sites they will have the terms under which you can use them in the terms and conditions.

You cannot legally get round it.

However - I can copy the same tracks to my Pocket PC, which has Windows Media 7 on it.

Also I am sure I could do this before I upgraded to Windows Mobile 2003. Makes me wonder whether I should go back to 2002.

The joys of DRM smile.gif

You have not bought the music, only the right to pay them on the device that Microsoft let you play them on and that is not a memory card. They'll probably stop you playng them soon anyway - they're nice like that wink.gif

Is this a common problem ?

How do others get round it ?

I have an SP3i and a MPx200 with WM2003.

My PC is running Windows Media Player 10. I have downloaded a number of tracks from MSN music.

I can only "sync" downloaded tracks to the smartphone itself

If I try to sync to my "mounted volume" storage card, windows media player gives an error message. The same thing happens if the track is copied across with the Real music player.

If I manually copy the track to the storage card with Active sync, the media player on the phone reports "cannot find license"

The only way round this, apparently, is to burn the tracks to a cd and then rip them back.

Anyone any clues?
