My battered old JAM is getting extremely hot during charge. It seems to get hotter with each consecutive charge, too. It’s almost at the point where it’s difficult to hold on to it. Other than that, it’s behaving properly. Does anyone know what might be causing it? Is it likely to “go on fire”?

Thanks.

It’s a pity there’s better camera work in The Blair Witch Project* but yeah, interesting.

Hi. Is it possible to, without Outlook, sync a windows smartphone/ppc device with Windows Vista’s native calendar and contacts?

P.S. I’m sure this has been covered before; but I searched for it but found the results fairly impenetrable.

Hi. I have a generic, Qtek branded 2020 – I’m after the latest (or best) ROM to flash it with. Which ones can I use? Any ideas?

What’s gone wrong with IRC?... The server seems to be acting very oddly and when I do get on I’m split away from everyone else. To whom, now, am I to boast about my sexual conquests?

Does GPS work out of the box? If not what do you need to get to make it work?

All I had to do was enter an Access Point name and it worked.

What is the average battery life with/without expansion?

About 4 days if you don't use it, 1 day if you play Quake the whole time. Don't have an expantion.

The emulators that have been ported to mobile devices, particularly pocket SNES, how well does this run on the device with its higher processor speed and ram?

Not tried PSNES but I've run some fairly simple MAMECE games like Pang and they're flawless.

Don't know about the other questions. It's a pretty great device though, if you ask me.

Well, I've tried this on my home PC and and it does work, this is having the device plugged into a powered USB 2.0 hub. Still doesn't on my work computer where it's plugged directly into the back of the machine.

Weird.

Hello...

So, I got my 2020 so I thought I'd try the sync and charge cable from my old spv. It worked fine for syncing and the power section of control panel reported the battery as "charging"... but the battery meter only went down as it would normally. The cradle, when it has the mains adapter is plugged in, charges as expected. Is the wiring different for this model? If so, can anyone suggest a cable that will work?

What the author wants is quite unimportant?  You obviously have never written any software yourself, have you?
Yes. I've written and released a number of freeware apps. I didn't take out copyright on them so I have no rights or say as to what is done with them.

QUOTE
And, as people have said copyright is an automatic right, belonging to the creator of the work. If they say it can't be distributed for comercial gain, then anyone that does that is breaking the law.

Copyright is automatic in that it exists as soon as a work that can be protected by copyright is created in a material form*

QUOTE
Your not the auctioner are you?

No, and it's "you're", not "your" :)

* Some irony here.

Of course it is.
Yeah?

QUOTE
There are commercial apps there which is blatent piracy

Oh right, I didn't see that, which ones?

QUOTE
and freeware apps are still copywrited.
Well most of them are not.

QUOTE
Just becuase the author agrees to distribute his/her app as freeware does not mean they reliquish copywrite on their work, and they can still say how they want it distributed (most would NOT want other people making a fast buck of their hard work I should think!)

Well if it was never copyrighted in the first place they wouldn't have anything to reliquish, they have no say on how it's distributed and what they want is quite unimportant.

When I was in Milan the other day, right off the plane the phone detected the "WIND" network and I was on MSN within a minute. Unfort., in the city I was only able to use TIM or OMNITEL or choose between the two on the rare occation. Neither of the latter two seemed to support GPRS, TIM just didn't work (timed out) and OMNITEL said "Unable to place call".
