I have been using i780 very closely since i bought it and i didnt realize this problem until i installed Morphgear trying to play some emulation games. And it turns out that the keyboard on i780 canot support multiple press. While all this while ive been wondering why did i always have a typo on my SMS messages even though im pretty sure ive pressed the button but its missing on the screen. i.e open note click new note . im trying to type "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" so when u press T (dont let go) then press H quickly after and you can see that the H doesnt seems to be appearing. This is hence why the typo always occurs because i type REALLY REALLY FAST that sometimes the 2 button pressed together one of the character is missing. (probably also missing characters due to background process in the phone that lags the character appeareance) However, if you install any games that requires to press 2 button at once.. it wont work. hence games are not playable at all on this keyboard. eg. Mario, you cant run fast because u cant press B and -> at the same time so theres no way u can run fast in a Mario game with this keyboard. My question is that, is this a Hardware defect ? (because my dopod 838 pro seems to be playing mario faboulously) or is this just fixable by a firmware upgrade in the future? Its really sad tha such nice phone i780 with the fastest wm processor cant used to play a little bit of entertaintment game. Fixable or not ? Thanks guys. Man. I'm so annoyed about that to that i can't press bottons simultaneously on that phone. Most games are unplayable. Im searching for a solution, too. I hope so much that there is a solution... |

QUOTE(GameOfDeath @ Apr 13 2006, 06:09) WOW. This thing flys on my MPX220. No overclock. Legend Of Zelda Street Fighter Final Fantasy IV(At least I think its IV, its the one that was released in the US) All run at full speed with sound disabled. Killer Instinct is just about playable at maybe 75% speed. Thanks a lot. 8) Does the OMAP overclock work on the 220? does it really run smooth?...i dont feel good playing without overclocking cause its not "really" smooth. i have the mpx220 an as well omapclock works |

QUOTE(masterall @ Apr 14 2006, 03:26) I'm working on the z80 now, the new version may be ready not long. @Poolkv The emulator compatibility seems good, most games I tested work well but sound. Do almost all games crash on your PPC or most of them? thats really nice. im looking forward. will z80 will run as smooth as games without z80, or will be a big performance decrease? |

QUOTE(Halcyon @ Apr 7 2006, 01:05) Hello to all, I am a new owner of the T-Mobile MDA (running Windows Mobile 5) which I purchased 2 days ago. I have been struggling since then to find a NES emulator that will work properly in landscape mode! I am at my wits end here...sigh... I can successfully load the emu as well as the roms, but regardless of what my controller settings are, they are always completely backwards! Example: With the keyboard extended, the EMU switches to landscape mode and all is well. The ROMs load, run, look and sound amazing!!! My controls are as follows (this has a full QWERTY keyboard BTW): Left - A Right - D Up - W Down - Z A button - L B button - K Start - Y Select - T It seems that regardless of what I setup the keys to be, its as if the EMU thinks it is still in portrait mode and adjusts the keys as such... does anyone know how to force the keys to remain the same *and* work as desired in landscape? I would be immensely appreciative of any help anyone can provide!! i had the same problem but after changing it right everything works fine. and i have a mpx220 |

QUOTE(bitbank @ Mar 27 2006, 07:04) New build is up! (0.12). You can download it here: www.bitbanksoftware.com/downloads/smartgear.zip What's new: 1) Fixed a GBC timer bug. This allows several games to work correctly (including one submitted as a bug report). 2) Fixed Key Definition dialog to allow you to exit with the soft menu keys. 3) Enabled ARM assembly language CPU emulation in NES. You will see incredible speed in NES games (try unchecking throttling). 4) Enabled volume adjustment keys during gameplay (this was in the last build, but I forgot to mention it). Please keep the bug reports coming. L.B. im not sure if the problem existed in the previous version, but there are weird graphics in pokemon crystal. (other pokemon seem to run nice) cya |

@MTroni i had a problem that the emu came back to normal screen. but it was cause there was not enough ram availible. I think that the program should run on a SPV c500. I f you really want to play snes roms at cool speed without sound, try hardreset(with sound a bit too slow..). it helped for me, still i dont know what the reason was... second is that different rom version(phone) run different. but all should run it(bad or good). |

HI, i just need to say something. Your emulator is awesome. the auto frameskip works really good! almost all games run perfectly. There are only a few slowdowns but the rest is well done. big thanks for this |

QUOTE(sertomo @ Feb 6 2006, 00:09) UNO could be a good choice if you like that card game. I have finished "Zelda Link's Awakening" in my mpx200 too. All these are GBColor games with Smartgear. I don't think arcades are easy to play with a mobile (just because of the keys), but Bust-A-Move (Puzzle Bobble) and Sonic series for the GameGear may be enjoyable. I am still looking for a working version of Risk (Genesis version isn't playable with PicoDrive, and PC version with DosBox is veeeery sloooow). Any more ideas? how could you play through if smartgear only plays 5 minutes each time? |

QUOTE(roy_nor @ Mar 16 2006, 22:06) I'm kinda missing some options to control the bitrate & frequence of sound. Just a q: what does the "throttle framerate" option do? Is it for games that run with a slow framerate? Does it cut out some frames or..? Keep up the good work, this is an app. I actually wanna pay for Just one question: If I pay for it now, do I have to pay again if there is a new updated release? i think that there is no bitrate/frequence option because bitbank is using most useful settings which would be 44Khz/16bit. For the frame rate bitbank uses no frameskip which is really good As for now i think that there are even no codes to unlock( if they are, SELL them But when a sellable version is out codes will probably work for updates too, like in other games/software(with some exceptions). but bitbank will know the truth |

QUOTE(bitbank @ Mar 16 2006, 19:15) Sly123, I would really like to understand this problem better because if you see it on the MPX220, then it should happen on others. Please describe in detail the steps needed to reproduce this problem (from powering up the phone to seeing the problem). Please describe in detail what you mean by the phone crashing. Thanks, L.B. Ok i will try to discribe step by step: 1. I power up the phone like always. 2. directly open smartgear 0.10 3. disable sound/auto save (more stability i think) 4. open a 4 Mb game( Dragon Warrior III) from mobile phone intern. memory (run without probs) and close it. 5. open the same game from storage card, causes crash. no button function ->except power button, so i can turn off and on again. Now: 1. i open smartgear again 2. i open a 2Mb game from internal memory. no problems. i quit rom 3. open a 1Mb rom from storage card. no probs. i quit 4. i open another 1Mb rom from storage car. again everything perfect. i quit the rom 5. then i open the 2Mb game from >>2.<<. game crashes. only power button helps. everything 1Mb and smaller runs without problems from storage card. but 2Mb+ crashes. i hope this will help you. greetings |

QUOTE(bitbank @ Mar 15 2006, 14:48) sly123, Thanks for altering me to the problem with large files. I am not able to reproduce the problem with the latest code. Can you you name a game which has this problem? Did you check available RAM on your phone before running SmartGear? Thanks, L.B. i meant that the smartphone crashes. so i had to start on and on ^^... so the ram is almost empty. its really only if the file is bigger than 1mb and is saved on storage card. maybe its just mpx220 related. but its not that bad, because you can move the favorite game to the phone's memory and not needed roms back to storage |
