The main reason I've stuck with Orange so long is they "used to have" the best CS out there, now i honestly think they're the worst...

IIRC, MoDaCo got off the ground primarily because of the shocking support offered by Orange customer support - silver lining and all.

I'm considering some of the larger phones, since the keyboard can be a great help (typing emails on the SPV... *shudder*), but there's something nice about how compact the phones get. I'll probably settle somewhere between the two, either with a keyboard or at least a sufficiently large keypad.

Looks like a little more research is in order. I'm still getting my head around the range available, here in my little backwater country you'd be lucky to find more than one in a store... I'm so deprived wink.gif

No excuse could explain away my sin... wink.gif

Sorry about the absence, I suppose I disappeared for a number of reasons, first and primarily the fact that the SPV was so PC-oriented that it failed to function as a phone.
About the time when my phone started dying every second call that came in, it became impractical to use, and I reverted to the step into the stone age that was my previous phone.
After my SPV troubles, I was put off smartphones for a while, reasoning that the technology hadn't really reached the level needed for them to operate properly, but, after looking around recently for a new phone, I saw that they've come quite a way, and thought I might have another go. Thus - to MoDaCo!

Then there was the fact that spending every waking hour on MoDaCo was somewhat damaging to my schooling... but we all need priorities.

Only trouble you might encounter with a laser keyboard is that, without any physical keys, it can be a bit hard to tell exactly where you're hitting the thing, resulting in more typos than you'd experience on a regular keyboard... Or maybe it's just me.

Hi,

I was wondering, if anyone knows about the different ways people input or build 3d graphics, could they please tell me what they are and give me a brief explanation of how they work?

Thanks a lot,
Wyatt

Hey all,
Can anyone see a problem with the following code?
CODE
if(setup.DoModal() == IDOK)

    {

 switch(setup.ScenYes.GetCheck())

 {

 case 0:

     MessageBox("0");

     break;

 case 1:

     MessageBox("1");

     break;

 }

    }

The program compiles and when I run it I can get the dialog to load, but as soon as I press the OK button I get a big error window which says:
QUOTE
Debug assertion failed!

Program: ...dio ProjectsMoneyMadnessMoneyMadnessDebugMoneyMadness.exe
File: f:vs70builds3077vcMFCATLshipatlmfcincludeafxwin2.inl
Line: 613

For information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts.

(Press retry to debug the application)
The documentation on asserts says:
QUOTE
An assertion statement specifies a condition that you expect to hold true at some particular point in your program. If that condition does not hold true, the assertion fails, execution of your program is interrupted, and this dialog box appears.

When I press retry(and it debugs) I get a message about the line 'switch(setup.ScenYes.GetCheck())' which says :
QUOTE
Unhandled exception at 0x7c29103b (mfc71d.dll) in MoneyMadness.exe:
User Breakpoint.

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this problem,
Wyatt

Is there such a thing as a wait function in VC++?
I know I could use a timer but I'm trying to make something happen over time in a fuction that can't be called by a timer. It would just make it much easier to use a wait.

Thanks,
Wyatt

Just realized this is in the wrong section. If a mod comes along could they please drop it into the 'non-smartphone devices' section?

Thanks,
Wyatt

I would put this into the programming section except that it's not really smartphone programming.

Does anyone know how to make an OnMouseMove function? In VC++ 6.0 there was just a wizard which allowed you to select it and it would put it in.

Also, does anyone know how to save a string as a .txt file?

Thanks a lot,
Wyatt

Sorry, thought I should explain better what I mean.
I currently have a string, m_bmp0_0, which I want to use to call the variable m_bmp0_0.
How would I go about this?

Thanks,
Wyatt

Hey Guys,

Sorry I haven't been on for a while.
I have a question completely unrelated to SPs, but I've noticed that a few of you at MoDaCo program games and apps in C++ and I was hoping you used Visual.
If so, does anyone know how to evaluate a string into a variable name?
If you do, it'd be a huge help!

Thanks,
Wyatt

I find that I can't use the back or home keys to get rid of the egg timer, I just have to wait for it or else it freezes. Though it did pretty much go away after the UK update.

since simlock stays, even after a hard reset, whereas de-cert has to be re-done, I would have thought it would make more sense to desim first, but I think it's very unlikely that it'd make a difference.

If you do get it replaced/fixed/repainted, I suggest you get a case, my phone has only lost a little bit of paint from the cradle/charger,and it's got almost not scratches or dust on the screen.

What's Repligo like? Can you edit, or just view? And does it have the viewers in it, or do you need to buy other software?
Thanks,

Did they give those settings specifically for the SPV, or for any phone?

That's very odd. It can install smartris but not anything else? Smartris still hasn't been certified yet, has it?
Thanks,
