I switched from T-Mobile to O2 for one of these phones and do regret it, but only because of the slow internet speeds. Everything else is great, the phone is lovely, have installed the HTC Home on it but use SPB Mobile Shell 2 over the top anyway. Coming from the Vario 2 I do miss the keyboard but thankfully don't really need it too much anymore. I have a EEE PC for writing on and for texts and such I am now used to using the lovely touch keypad. I need to ring O2 to get them to give me as fast a speed as they can at somepoint but that is the only thing I am unhappy about. |

It seemed to be doing things when I started Co-Pilot, like it was integrating updates or such. Now I just need to work out how to use them. When i go to the POIs section I can see all the usual Petrol stations , hotels etc but no mention of the Tescos, Pub grub etc I have put in. Do they get integrated under the existing headings or should they be there on their own. |

Whilst on the subject of Co-Pilot I have downloaded some POIs that are supposedly compatible with Co-Pilot but have no idea what to do with them. They are in sets of two different files, one is a DS_store file and the over an OV2 file. Can anyone shed any light as to where to put them to make them work... if they do at all? Cheers, Chris |

SDHC spec supports up to 32gig in theory, as for right here right now an 8Gig card will work, my Dad has the same phone as us and used an 8gig Sandisk card. |

Just thought I'd throw my name in, I just this weekend got myself an O2 Orbit 2 and am loving it so far. Not having a keyboard is quite a departure for me but other than that I love the device to bits. Had initial issues with Co-Pilot not working and such but now it's purring away like a little kitten. *thumbs up* |

Nope not tried it...think i'll give it a go though! Only seem to be getting 2.5 hours or so under XP (although i believe thats due to an issue with the way the webcam is handled via the USB bus), so will have a play I think there's a thread at eeeuser.com with a 'fix' for that issue, or at least the webcam drawing too much power when putting the system to sleep. It involves downloading a windows update and then using a tray app to disable the cam when not needed. I've done the fix and I don't know if it's just placebo but I think it seems to be lasting longer, maybe thats just me having a greater awareness of turning off my WiFi when not in use and lowering my screen brightness in line with the conditions of the room I'm in. Also I use eeeclock so that when I start my system it's always at the stock speed but I can set it to 800/900 when I need it or am on mains power. |

Oh I was told that they couldn't apply the "YAWJAN08" as Id already ordered it. I didn't mind too much as they were still cheaper than most other places. I just recieved a letter through the post from PC World apologising for the inconvenience caused and refunding me £11. You had anything? Sucks if not and I hope youdo but that was a nice little bonus to come home to. |

2. I don't have an external drive and so I installed my XP from a USB memory stick. I used this tutorial here and had no problems installing. http://www.eeetips.com/general-tutorials/i...usb-thumbdrive/ 3. If you have a big SD card as you do then I wouldn't worry about nLiting too much. It is possible to save a few hundred meg but I'm taking up less than 3gig with XP, Office 2007, Feed Demon, Firefox, Photoshop CS3 Extended, Acronis 11, a 250 meg swap disk and 400 eg worth of pictures / docs on there. When I get some memory and a SDHC card I will be moving what I can and then will leave the rest of the internal drive for updates and system tools etc. 4. I thought about slipstreaming SP3 but I want to wait till it released on the legit. I enable window updates every so often to keep up to date. |

If you tethering for the uses of the internet connection then have you tried WinMoWiFiRouter? http://www.wmwifirouter.com/ It basically makes your Vario 3 share it's internet connection over WiFi so there's no pairing and such. Should be as painless under Xandros as it is under XP. I't just a bit of a battery drain. :/ EDIT : The site appears to be down at the moment. If you do want to try it then I may still have the cab laying around. lemme know. |

Hi all, I did a search of here and the internet and general and couldn't find an answer to this, so hopefully it's not an FAQ My Asus eee is coming "soon" and I intend to use the t-mobile Web and Walk plus USB modem with it. Is it possible to get the eee to route between this and it's wifi connection, effectively turning the eee into a sort of low powered wifi access point? Would it support more than one device connecting at a time? TIA, D I think technically if you bridge the USB network connection with the WiFi it should work... never had cause to do it though so don't know the specifics. |

Glad you got it finally. We're all happy bunnies! Next pay day I have a list of things I want to get, 2gig ram, 8gig SDHC and a Logitech VX Nano mouse. I've been playing around and installing things, put Adobe reader on and an overclock utility as well as a screen rotate utility for use with CDisplay (Comic Book Reader) as well as Transport Tycoon. Took it out and used it today, sat in a nice bar / pub and whipped a short story into shape that I needed to finish for inclusion in my local writing groups anthology. It's luvverly!! |

I don't know if it's the 'best' way or not, it the only way I tried. I'd recommend using Virtual PC to test out your ISOs as you go along to make sure everything is as it should be, it took me about 6 attempts to get something suitable. At current I have Windows XP SP2 with updates and Office 2007 (Word, Excel and Outlook), CCleaner, Windows Live Messenger and Nod Anti Virus installed with a 250meg pagefile taking up just under 2gig. |

Yep indeedy, I'm hoping that tomorrow will be the day. It's sat in Lichfield DHL center which is the closest to Derby so I'll be getting up early tomorrow and checking for the tell tale "Loaded to truck" message or such. I havean nLited Win XP on a USB stick ready to go. |

19:00 and they're still instock, the word is that their delivery was for 90 units, is supply finally catching up to demand... guess it helps that PCW doesn't seem to be on the stock checker most people are watching. Play.com have lost a few orders today though. |

Oh you star ... ordered !!! So I now have orders with: Play - Order Taken CCLComputers.co.uk - White 4G - Accepted order, I got the last one in stock ... then got an email saying "possible stock problems". So I think they took my order but might have sold it to someone else! Im on a conference call at the moment, so placed order with PC World too, as I would prefer a black EEE PC. Then I shall call CCL Computers and cancel the order with them! Glad I could help. From what I've read of people who ordered yesterday and the day before you will get two e-mails almost immediately 9which I have) then after a day or two you should get the actaul despatch e-mail with trackign details. I think we can expect them next week sometime. *fingers crossed* Let me know how your order goes, i'll no doubt be posting here if anything happens my end. |

After having an order placed with Play.com for a few weeks now and the status never changing from "Order Taken" I managed to sneak in and get one from PCWorld this morning. The fact that they don't take orders is a bonus in some respects as if you get their when they have them in stock then you can be pretty sure of getting one in the next week or so. I have the week off next week so no problems with the standard delivery, will post when I recieve it. |

I think if I follow what Monolithix was sayign and what I have read else where that if your SSD has a minipcie connection and the EEE has the spare minipcie socket that some models have you can plug it straight into that socket without having to solder. From what I remember reading, previously when you plug a minipcie device into the socket the internal soldered SSD stops working which leads people to think that if you use a SSD with a minipcie connector in it it will recognise it and use the new SSD instead of the old one. I could be wrong though. |
