Ooh I just took redundancy too, only last week!!

Being bored at work sucks, I have even been known to visit wikipedia and hit 'random article' repeatedly until something vaguely interesting comes up tongue.gif

There's a free app hosted here on MoDaCo, WM5torage, which I used to use with varied success.

However for me it just wasn't reliable enough (I need this function almost daily) so I purchased Softick Card Export, which IMO is just leagues ahead, 15 euros for it is peanuts IMO and it works flawlessly for me every time smile.gif

You need to make a .dll that holds the icon you want to use, and put an icon.lnk file, set to hidden, that points to the dll in the start menu folder you want to customise

^^I'm in that club^^

Changed the buttons for the default ones, hated 'em and stuck the originals back in.

Search for my thread 'I nearly took my Kaiser apart'

The default file explorer probably won't let you,

I would recommend Resco Explorer, you can get a trial but I would seriously advocate purchasing it as it is pretty much a must have app IMO

Easy-Peasy!

The default Blue HTC icons can easily be found on the web, Use a better File Explorer such as the excellent Resco Explorer to overwrite the originals

Before replacing the HTC Home icons disable it in Start>Settings>Today

Go to Start>Settings>Power>Advanced and see if the 'When Device is turned on, do not charge battery.....' is checked

The TLR ROM is pretty popular at the mo, I'm using it and am very pleased with it

One of my posts in the thread links to the stock T-Mo ROM if you wan to try it

No when I first got mine and let the customisations run, I was able to uninstall it in the normal way, which was pleasantly surprising

I have experienced apps that won't uninstall, getting the 'xxxx was not completely removed.....' message I still believe a re-install should fix it, although why the cab won't run is a mystery.

From your other threads it seems you are leaning towards a new ROM so is this all a moot point anyway?

BTW If you do decide to do the Hard-reset soft-reset trick on the T-Mo ROM you don't even need to configure the network settings as they're built into the ROM, the only visual difference is the pink HTC Home and Comm manager icons, which are easily replaced, and you get a pretty clean device.

Seems like you have two choices

1. Send it back to T-Mo for repair / replacement

2. Re-flash the T-Mo ROM on it yourself

The ROM in the link above does not contain a radio.

This was dumped from a UK Vario III so surely if you dumped yours you'd end up with the same result?

What you can do however is flash an HTC ROM with radio, then flash the T-Mo ROM to get it all working again.

(Credit to Syphon Filter for this BTW)

Don't have file permissions? Bit of a vague message...

Off the top of my head you could try and see if MemMaid or SKTools can force uninstall it

TomTom - on my device at least - is all on the card. All I ever do is re-create a shortcut in the Start Menu and it's all back how it was

I didn't SIM unlock mine (T-Mo V3) before flashing TLR, just HardSPL.

Is the radio bit specific to Orange? I'm remembering the guys in the early days who flashed the HTC ROM and ended up with a locked device

M.S.

I wasn't trying to be critical, If you think there's an element of hypocrisy on the site then that's your call, but not what I was implying

Paul

The ROM part of the new rules is clear, what isn't is the posting of software ripped from ROMs, to take Phone Pad as an example surely this is copyrighted by HTC?

Silly question perhaps, but have you tried re-starting it?

You can accidentally enter the bootloader by holding a couple of buttons when you soft-reset
