I've been really impressed with my vodafone v1240, lovely design and works well once started up but its time to upgrade. I don't want an all singing all dancing mobile but the features of the 1240 (particularly wifi and activesync) would be wonderful. Where do I go from here? Any ideas please?

Have you tried taking your memory card out?

I finally got it by taking the SIM card out. Then I finally managed to press the soft keys along with the blxxdy on/off switch. My they are sensitive, but after the machine demanded a SIM it reset to factory. Shame as I've now got to reload all my goodies but it works!

My C550 is rebooting all the time. It just started after I attempted to load ewallet. The phone hung so I removed the batttery after about 5 minutes.

All I get now is the Orange logo
then the blue Windows Mobile screen fo ages
then cold boot config to 100% screen
then alert Screen 'please press OK to restart the device'
then back to the Orange logo
and round in circles.

Can abyone help? I've tried the pressing of the 2 soft keys followed by on/off
I'm lost,
Andy

bluetooth works great but make sure your using the correct dial up details.

It should be the same settings as this guide here

I will have a look at settin up my phone as a modem via infrared as i only have it via bluetooth

Sam

Many thanks for the info. It seems a little dyslexia crept into my setup string. However, it only connects about 50% of the time complaining of being in use at others. The GPRS connection from my supplier is partly to blame for this but I suspect the file transfer wizard of stealing the connection to. Could this be?

I've successfully connected my C550 to my (old age) laptop via the infrared port but when I try to connect to the internet the laptop reports a modem hardware failure and goes into a redial.

Given this problem do people think a bluetooth connection would be more stable? I don't want to purchase a dongle to find similar problems.

This would be my main connection so I really want it to work. Thank you.

I've searched in vain. Is there any way to increase the contrast of the cursor on the internet explorer of the SPV C550?

At present its a rectangle that surrounds whatever the choice may be and it is sometimes so faint as to be unseen, particularly if highlighting dialogue boxes.

Google turns it into a couple of dashes - - Most frustrating.

I've got a C550 and very happy with it. However two problems have recently arisen. I cannot shedule a backup though I can do it manually, inserting a shedule and pressing OK does nothing.

Second I can not longer sync to orange. I used to load the Orange Synchronisation Companion and sync with no problems - until I updated from the Orange website. Now I load it up and as soon as I click on sync the program produces an error and I have to close. The error is in voxsync.exe and despite chatting to Orange tech. support for about 2 hours got no help whatsoever. In fact they denied all knowledge of the ruddy program till I put them in touch with it!!

I can sync via outlook and activesync with no problem.
Any advice please?
