QUOTE(hotphil @ Apr 18 2008, 11:18) *
i'm pretty sure that in one of the older threads in this forum there was a link to US-based supplier for them - have a search or a scroll..

ive found suppliers for the oem htc housing, but not the tmobile branded housing that i want. no posts on that yet.

HKLM is a registry term, stands for:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

No problem on the noob question, we were all noobs at one time.

horrible battery life. mine lasts at the most 8 hours with light usage(3 or 4 txt's, no phone calls) I find myself charging it 3 times a day on some occasions, atleast 2 times per day every day.

I've been trying to start the warranty exchange process, but its hard because i'm in the US, and i dont think HTC America will honor the warranty.

This is the part that confuses me:

QUOTE
7.

Create key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\UIPlugins

Create subkey {DAD087AB-1E2F-4b3b-BB5F-0F4D6AB630F8}
-Add strings "FriendlyName"="HTC WMP Plug-in Today" and "Description"="HTC WMP Plug-in Today"
-Add DWORD "Capabilities" with value 1

Create subkey {A13C7005-B7BD-4f0f-B496-A830EAF8DB32} (I'm not actually sure this is needed)
-Add DWORD "Capabilities" with value 42000001

so a string with
Value name: FriendlyName
Value Data: HTC WMP Plug-in Today

?? or am I doin that wrong..?

i believe pauls debrander does this, because one version(vodaphone if im not mistaken) shipped with a blue comm manager, and blue audio-manager. could be wrong though.

I was wondering the same thing.

On my tmobile dash(wm6) i found this key:

\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Volume

and then a DWORD of 4294967295.. i dont want to change it and brick my phone, so if anyone with some registry experience could help, let us know.
