Well, as good as the i780 is, I can see a few details that might swing some people the Treo's way:- 1. Proper D-Pad instead of optical sensor 2. Ringer On/Off switch 3. Wifi On/Off button 4. Extra Function buttons 5. Standard Mini-USB connector 6. Irda 7. A notification LED that works And a superb QWERTY keyboard. The full QWERTY-keyboard on the Treo 750 is one of the best I've ever used !! |

For others... .take your choice.... £656 quoted by Paul - terrible price, overprice product for what it does! Much more decent, light weight laptops out there and you could even get a SIM FREE phone with change There certainly is a niche for this device, and for instance it's Jason Langridge's demo device. However with the new upcoming and almost equal powerful HTC Touch Pro it's more difficult to choose. For presentations and notebook replacement on the road it's great. |

Paul, I have a small bugreport from the HTC s620. If I run AppToDate, a folder called "programs" is created in the start menu (as familiar on the pocketpc platform, where the programs are located). However on the smartphone this folder is empty, and I have to delete it manually. |

![]() You can grab the app from the Beta post in the Resco forum. As with all Beta software, install at your own risk, and expect to find bugs and issues! Improvements in this release are said to include:
I'm off to install it now, i've been waiting for SFTP support! P Hope to see apptodate support in the optionlist in the near future !! |

The first stage of this exists already, you can save your app list and CABs to SD... the reinstall featureset will grow over time. P Will there also be the option to select a folder by yourself. Now the folder is apptodatecabs and is put in the root of your SD-card. I'm the kind of guy who wants to keep the root as clean as possible. ;) So the 17 MB ROM file will also be written to the storage card .... as I understand correctly ? Anyway I'm impressed by the video and can't understand why all the different upgrade programs (Windows Update, Webis Update, Resco Update) can't combine their efforts and use one simple upgrade standard. This is again one of the modaco programs which makes life more easier. |

One of the apps that really made me want to do AppToDate is SKTools - SKTools. It's a totally amazing tweakers toolkit that is updated very often, and therefore perfect for AppToDate. SK-KV Software added support yesterday! WOOHOO P I hope they will also add support for the smartphone versions. |

Serialio.com offers a number of Bluetooth scanner solutions that will read EAN-13 codes, convert them to ISBN codes an put them into any program on your HTC TyTN II (at&t Tilt). You can use the browser e.g. and use Amazon.com for lookups. Socketcom has also a bunch of readers, so probably they also provide the software ! |

![]() It is an EXE only (copy to your device and run), which has a basic GUI which allows you to scan for duplicates, and then choose (after being told your duplicate count) whether to remove them. Contacts are compared based on 'File As', field, 'Email' field and 'Home / Work / Mobile' phone fields. If all those fields match, it's deemed a duplicate. The application scans my ~200 contacts in under 2 seconds Hope this is useful to someone! P PS If you think it's worthy of me cabbing up, or extending to Calendar support etc., let me know! [attachment=24346:DupeDeDupe.zip] A cab-file and apptodate support are cool and usefull iterations ! |

I really like the application, and it works great with the modaco software and watchflag. So I really hope that "large" developers jump on this train !! It would really help to stay up to date ! |

User counting (anonymously) is coming in a future build, I already have the deets planned. It's important to know how many checks are being done via apptodate, and for what apps, and it enables a lot of cool stuff P Paul, I hope you will add some user settings too. So I can set the time intervals and software titles to update automatically. |

Paul, The concept is very cool, so trie to get the developers onboard. Webis software has also an update client and SBSH Pocketweather does also automatically search for updates. So in that respect it's perhaps easy to get them on board. Are you going to develop this version for both pocketpc and smartphone or just one of the two platforms ? |

Does the phonepad actually add the functionality to make voice calls (over gsm) with the shift and not only just data use ? Otherwise there isn't a reason to add the dailpad ? |
