I tried to do this with my Diamond a few weeks ago - took me bloody ages, and even then I wasn't too impressed (probably didn't get it totally right). I had to set up ActiveSync on the PC to listen on a COM port that was mapped to a bluetooth serial port on the PC. Then when that was done, get the Phone to search for devices / ports on the PC. ActiveSync port should then show, and that should get you going. If you want more detailed info - someone else can probably help you better than I (I gave up on the BT ActiveSync - preferred plugging into PC for charging too. |

there are others around like this that also include a 3.5mm socket so you can use better headphones if you want. Other option is to use a stereo bluetooth headset - then you don't need to be tied to the desk the same way. |

Plenty of options around. Most are similar to this (most are prettier!). I just googled "htc diamond splitter" and that came top of the listings. A lot of desktop cradles do a similar job too. |

I updated mine to some cooked radio and roms - much better. I stuck with the fairly standard ones (HTC plus a few bits), and am rather happy with my device. |

About flipping time! If it weren't for the crap performance, and crap battery life with the current T-Mobile ROM, I'd probably stick with it. |

This is the normal behavior for Windows Mobile. WiFi will zap the battery very quickly, so it is assumed that you want to turn it off when you are not using it. There is an option in AdvancedConfig to disable this. |

Just noticed that my post here and your reply have the right time, but my quick reply earlier has wrong time. Perculiar. Edit: - This quick reply was fine. Now I am really confused. My original odd-timed post was: http://www.modaco.com/content/diamond-diam...forwarding-txts Now my last edit of this post had wrong hour. |

I just posted a reply at 09:23, but the thread shows that I posted at 10:23. In my Control Panel settings, shows GMT and use DST and also shows the right time where I am. Something broke? |

My guess is that you were viewing the message in threaded / Conversation mode (forget the name). Quite a handy view, except I also can't see how to forward a message. You can forward a message when you are viewing the Inbox / All Messages. Scroll down the list to the message in question, and then use the Menu in the same way to forward. This feature kind of makes sense, but is still a right pain. |

Of course, the Exchange Administrator has set these policies for a reason; since your device has company information on, they're in charge of keeping that information safe. You want to use the facilities, you've got to play by their rules. /Postmaster I agree - whilst it is a pain, there is a pretty good reason why they do this. Might even be a sackable offence to override their settings in some companies - breach of security, etc. I have rather a lot of sensitive info on my device on occasion, and really ought to do something about it. |

It will not. you need TT7 maps to work with TT7. Not quite right as far as I have read. Won't work with older v6 maps, but newer ones it will. http://www.theunwired.net/?item=unconfirme...r-6-maps-update I have seen other places saying this, but can't find them at the moment. |

If the LCD is cracked, you will see some pixels not working whilst others may do. Maybe even a line of pixels that are the wrong colour. If you can't see anything at all, then that is tougher to figure out - might be the LCD and / or the touch panel (assuming they are separate). As for protecting your phone, I suggest filling the footwells and covering the seats in those annoying polystyrene "wotsits". Should work. |

I find my Diamond doesn't seem to charge up in the car if I have GPS and WiFi going at the same time as TomTom. I'm presuming the load on the battery is higher than the charge rate, and the charger gets upset. Could it be similar? had an earlier HTC device, and car charger would only charge it when the screen was off - I presume down to too much load for the pathetic charger I was trying to use. |

Have recently got Diamond. Love the size / usability balance. Just the right size, and still very full featured. Other phones are either too big (but more useful) or too small (and less useful). 4 year old 12" HP laptop for more serious mobile requirements , using Diamond as 3g modem on occasion |

Reading the reviews, seems that these are a nice idea but not very practical for a lot of people. In summary 1. don't try to use them at the gym as they give up fairly quickly with any sweat 2. they seem to have issues with receiption where the phone / pda / etc are more than a few inches from the headphones. 3. As the microphone is in the ear, not great quality when used to talk. Look nice though |

As Neil5459 said, the versions you have are fine. I think it is only T-Mobile that are behind the times. Enjoy your new toy! |

Jeyo Mobile Extender should work perfectly with the Diamond. As long as you are using Outlook 2003 onwards you can copy messges back and forth between the PPC and the PC at will, according to Jeyo's product page. When you get the new PPC, you will need to create a new partnership between that and your Outlook on the PC; you may need to remove the old partnership first to allow you to sync emails. As far as I can see, the Jeyo stuff is independent anyway. Just tried it on my Diamond to test, and it worked fine- able to copy SMS messages either from or to the device from Outlook. No requests for COM ports or anything- just made sure to create a valid ActvieSync partnership, then restart Outlook. The only thing I'd recommend is to take a backup of your Outlook file (Outlook.pst) before doing anything, just in case! Had ActiveSync working fine for a few years with a number of PDAs, syncing emails and calendar. When I do send and receive with Jeyo, I get "Not Connected" message. In the Config screens, the Connection tab only shows IR or a COM port. |

Whilst I can't answer your questions, I do have a question for you. I just tried Jeyo Extender as I wanted to sync my Diamond SMS to Outlook (have used Jeyo some time ago), but it seems to insist on having a COM port to talk to - I always use a USB cable with HotSync. Any suggestions? Thanks, Andy |

I agree with Neil5459. I've updated my firmware just to get rid of the T-Mobile slow yucky stuff. I'd recommend the SwiftBL or stock HTC firmware if you want your phone to continue looking and working like the T-Mobile branded phone. |

I went for one of these. Tough, simple, just what I wanted. Keep the phone in my pocket most of the time, and if I want to put it in a bag I use this case. Belt clip is fine - used it for 3 days at an exhibition. |
