buying an "unlock" code has nothing to do with the unbranding...
It's only about SIM unlocking (in other word, making it carrier lock free)

So if you really want to remove orange stuff (icons, customization) only reflashing is needed or even simplier : rebooting and cancelling the carrier customization step.

Just to give my 2cts, at the end, I just Disabled the Skin by changing
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin > Enabled = 0

This give back the default dialer which is more readable IMHO (especially for the smartdialing)

Thanks, I just found where to tweak things :

[HKLM\Software\HTC\SmartDialer\]
Key is "clrFLHI"
If you don't have it create it.

Values are in hex, some examples....
FF0000 = Red
00FF00 = Green
0000FF = Blue
FFFF00 = Yellow
FF00FF = Purple
000000 = White (All colors off)
FFFFFF = Black (All colors on)
888888 = Grey (All colors 1/2 strength)

I can upload the files you need for you to edit if you like.....

Its easy enough to do on photoshop or the like. Just don't want to myself.

I already tried by tweaking the : Dialer_BkgdL.png / Dialer_BkgdP.png
But still, when using the smartdialing, the blue comes back (don't really understand from where)

Any chance to get a version of the skin with something else that this blue background ? (maybe yellow, or even white...)
Thanks anyway, it's still way nicer than the default Orange dialer.

Btw, Is there a chance to reskin the PIN code dialer too ? (it's way too light) Thanks !

QUOTE(leviking @ Aug 30 2007, 11:34) *
I am looking for a phone to replace my i320. I have been EXTREMELY happy with it. I have owned many smartphones, but the i320 one beats them all.

I want it to be WM6 QWERTY, and similar screen size, preferably landscape. For me one of the key advantages is the size of the i320, especially the slim-ness. Since I use my pocket for it all the time. SO it has to have the same slimness. I have found nothing that beats the form factor of the i320. Nice to haves are better camera and battery life. and gps :-)

What's out there, besides the blackjack or i600 that meets these requirements?

HTC S620 will do the same and more (wifi, WM6)
Else i'm looking at the iMate 8150 (check details on www.pdadb.net)

From what I remember,
- In WindowsMobile the top bar should display a main icon
- On the cord itself, there's a triangle LED (which goes from red to green)

About other forums for Samsung, you can try on Expansys' forum...
But yes, a XDA-dev like forum is something I'll miss if I go with another brand too (still with my loving qtek8310 running WM6).

Should be pretty straightforward I would guess...
1) set your data connection
2) set your VPN connection
3) add your server in the ActiveSync sources

That's it!

The easiest Soft Reset is often to remove the battery just for 2secs.
For the Hard Reset, read http://wiki.modaco.com/index.php/Samsung_i320

after 1.5year too, My 8310 started to loose time when the battery is out...
I think the point is the small backup battery that you can see on the 4th picture at Disassembly tornado
Seems like it doesnt last very long, and how could a clock continue to run without power sad.gif

Hi there,
Did you look at their doc http://www.finchsync.com/docu.html ?
But I wouldnt go away from Outlook for few reasons :
- Contact sync is 100% (including photo, and most details)
- Journal is good too, my smartphone push at every sync the log for every calls sent/received into my Outlook

QUOTE(Televinken @ May 5 2007, 21:55) *
Anyone know if there's a way to make the wakeup alarm work properly?
What I mean is; can it be set to go off when the phone is switched off?
It's frustrating to see that every other phone has this obvious feature!
I know there's no 'official way', but maybe you know a reg hack or so?
Or maybe there's a program to install on the phone, that does it..?
Thanx in advance....

Did you mean "to go ON" ?
If that was your question, no... remember it's like a small pc, which cannot wakup from a shutdown state neither (it's hardware, any other phone in fact never go to real "full off" state... that's why they can wake up).
In fact, a smartphone never need to be "off", just use "Flight Mode" if you don't want to be disturbed.

Hi there

You could try to change this registry key :
QUOTE
To change the timeout setting for the keypad light:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Controlpanel/Backlight/CMCS_KEYLEDTimeout
