Im currently rolling out Windows Smartphones as our mobile soloution at work. Im setting up users with Push mail on Exchange 2007. When I set up the config using Activesync it makes the Device Friendly Name my username which has been creted from my user logon. So once I have issued the handset the next time the sync on there own PC it comes up with the Activesync profile name of WM_FIRSTNAME_SURNAME How can I change this with out App Unlocking and changing in the registry?? Should be the same as WM5: Settings/System/About/DeviceID |

QUOTE(thomasr83 @ Apr 4 2006, 16:58) There's a discussion here, but it also disables all of the Soft Input Panels (not jus the keyboard). |

QUOTE(thomasr83 @ Apr 4 2006, 10:19) You dont really need to close it manually though. It disappears when you start typing on your real keyboard. But it's still very annoying. Which means opening the keyboard and then typing something - cumbersome if all I'm trying to do is get to the favorites list, etc. I know you can permanently disable it all together, but I'd rather just stop it from automatically opening all the time. |

Yeah, I'd like to be able to stop this as well - it gets real annoying when IE opens up and this virtual keyboard takes up half the screen and I have to go and close it manually (it opens with nearly everything and is driving me nuts) |
