Just so you know you're not going mad I confirm that I'm seeing the same behaviour.

First time it happened I put it down to human error on my part and assumed I'd accidentally unticked it, but it happened again this morning and I've been nowhere near that page.

If you find out what's causing do let me know as I'm good for nothing first thing in the morning and scrabbling about trying to tap the title bar icon is a pain!

Mathew

i have been trying to replicate this for the last hour or so to try and find the cause.
I thought it may be something to do with switing profile (sound, vibrate ect) but thats not it

tried a few soft resets and one time it had unchecked, but another it had not so im not sure what that means.

maybe we could compare what software we have installed to try to determin ifs its a 3rd party app causing this?
i had a suspicion it may be something to do with S2U2 so may uninstall that later.

the search continues

From his blog...
Ouch! ohmy.gif

P

is it just me that finds all these diamond comparisons to the iphone a little tedious. It always seems that the reviewers in question fails to understand the benefits of running WinMo and focus soley on the UI.

personally i do believe the Iphone has a far superior UI to any current WinMo device, but for me the advantages end right there.
its like comparing a home entertainment system to a PC for the purpose of listening to music, the Home Ent system will win outright, but the PC can achieve so much more.

so by all means if you want a phone mainly for texting and listening to music get the Iphone, it is better at these things.
If you want a powerfull buisness tool with vast software upgrade potential the follow the WinMo devices.

Im not going to keep banging on as almost every reader on this forum has chosen the winmo path so i would be preaching to the converted, so sufice to say we know what we want from a device and for many of us its something that apple cannot provide.

well thats me all ranted out, anyone for a drink !

I answered someone elses post here a while back explaining how to get the alarm dismiss dialog to show on the home screen.

go
start
settings
sounds & notifications
notifications tab
select reminders from the drop down menu
check the display onscreen box

now im having a problem when every few days my alarm goes off but the dismiss dialog does not pop up. Then when i check the settings the above mentioned box is unchecked again.

Anyone else getting this, or have an insight into what could be causing it

thanks

No it doesnt I only get that option if I tap on the alarm icon in the top bar. when the alarm is going off the soft keys remain Phone and Programs.

to get the alarm dissmiss message on the screen you need to do the following
go start - settings
click sounds & notifications
click the notifications tab at the bottom
in the drop down menu select "reminders"
now check the box "display message on screen"
click ok in the top right

not sure why this is now checked by default !!!

surley every phone that is not an iphone is not an iphone, how is that a relevent point?

This is by far my biggest gripe with diamond reviews, if i wanted to use a device primarily for playing music and video then i would have purchased an iphone. I want a something close to a PC in my pocket so i have opted for a winmo device. Whats the point of all these reviewers penalty marking phones for not being Iphones when they have both been designed with different goals in mind.

I will note that the diamond was pretty slow out of the box and this has been alleviated almost completley by flashing a custom ROM and a applying a few reg tweaks, and this is definatly not something that should have to be done by the end user.

all in all i believe this phone deserves a 4 star award for erganomics and functionality, it would make 5 stars if the user interface could be improved to futher reduce the need to get the stylus out for more common tasks (ie fidling with settings and choosing contacts in the SMS recipient field)

I been playing around with this software since yesterday and it works very well

changing the sim sent the alert to my other phone with the new number so i could send commands, all of which seem to work fine.
Only problem i found is getting results via e-mail instead of sms, i dont get them untill my phone does a send/recieve email (every 2 hours)

have to wait a few more days to see what the effect on battery life (if any) is going to be

excellent software

i have been looking for a piece of sofware like this for a while, but i cant find any info in the documentation about removing this app should decide you no longer want/need it.

Alot of this type of software is designed to be hard to remove, im reluctant to install this before i know if im going to have difficulty removing it at a later date

Not sure why the 'Free and Fun' caption now appears, separately from 'Up to Date'. If something appears under F&F, does that mean it's an older version? Google Maps appeared under the new heading the first time I ran AppToDate, so I updateded it. The version installed is a newer build, however, Google Maps still appears under the 'Free and Fun' heading.

It's a bit confusing -- ideally, there would be just 2 headings -- one for Up to Date and another for New Version Available. Maybe I'm missing something, but what's the purpose for this new heading?

i have the same scenario, ideally google maps should appear in the up to date section, maybe its possible in the future to remove apps from being monitored? just to make a cleaner list.
other than that small niggle this is an excellent and much needed piece of software

Hi can anyone help me, how do i create a custom splash screen for my diamond, ive searched everywhere but i cant find anywhere providing a decent guide\walktrough. please help

i usually create the image as a 640x640 and save it as "welcomehead.192.png" then paste that into the windows folder on your device.
You may need to use something like total comander to paste the file over the old one as it is usually write protected

Whenever i get a phone call by the time i have removed my phone from the HTC pouch i have inadvertantly either answered or rejected the call.

Does this happen to you!

i'm thinking if i could dissable the on screen answer/ignore buttons and just use the hardware ones my problems would be sorted. How can this be achieved?
Or maybe there is a pouch that does not make direct contact with the screen? though i guess then i would lose the fingerprint cleaaning benefits?

sugestions appreciated

It's $20 but Free if you join MoDaCo Plus

it looks good, im quite impressed with other spb software that i have purchased in the past.

does this software need to be running to monitor my connection, or is there a hidden componant of it that runs in the background when the software closes.
im concerned that i may close the program and it not monitor my data for a while and i may inadvertantly go over my limit.

EDIT:

i have downloaded the 15 day trial, and it does monitor the data when closed from the task bar... excellent
ill let the trial run its course then may take up the modaco plus or just purchase it direct.

top recomendation
thanks

could anyone recomend some software that would allow me to keep track of my data usage?
free is the best price but anything below the $10 mark is sure to be worth the money

Unfortunately not... But the Audio output in the back is cool! (Not tried it yet)

reading the expansys i guess the extended battery charging insert will replace the phone charging insert so you can only use one at a time!
expansys also mention tv-out as well as audio!

The tmob version looks alot sexier than my orange/htc design
the back seems alot less prone to finger prints too, which quickly detracts from the look of the HTC

On the other side i think the leather slide pouch shipped with the orange diamond is better.

Which rom/radio version is shipped with the device?
