As for the volume problem. Mine is OK - but I tend to use it in the car with a cassette adaptor rather than the headphones. The headphone volume is OK as well though (the headphones that come with the phone are crap and I bought a 2mm - 3.5mm adaptor from maplin to use better ones and the car adaptor). The volume from the phone speaker isn't great, but neither is the sound quality either.

One thing I have found is that when using the cassette adaptor (and this was the case with the C500 as well) is that if you reduce the volume on the phone (around 45% was OK) and increase it on the car stereo, the quality improves. It sounds great then.  8)

If the audio is some you captured yourself it might be worth checking using another player - maybe try playing it on the PC (assuming you can copy it over  ). If it's audio you've ripped from a CD and encoded yourself it might be worth tying different settings. I always encode at 128k MP3.

When you're copying files from PC to phone, you have to understand that your phone will process the information first before copying it. So, if you're trying to get a 4mb mp3 file into your phone, make sure you got around 9mb of free memory.

Since this is the case, I'd advise a card reader. Put your SD in the slot and copy directly from PC to SD. When you plug your SD back into your phone, the file should be there. That's what I've been doing ever since and almost everyday.

Just to add that WMP on the SDA crashed after trying to find the part track that was installed after the last post.

Could it be that Microsoft hadn't thoroughly tested Windows Media Player 10 (PC version) and Windows Media Player 10 (Smartphone version) together?(!) That doesn't sound like something they would do is it?

Maybe it's the fact that it's more difficult to distribute daily updates for the smartphone platform to enable 'testing' to take place.

Enough MS bashing for now. :twisted: I REALLY hope it's something I'M doing wrong.  :?:

I don't know if I'm being impatient, haven't explained my problem adequately, or there isn't anyone with a solution to this problem. Certainly, I can't find anyone with a similar problem.

I've reinstalled Windows - and applied ALL the updates, done a hard reset on my smartphone and reinstalled the basic software I use (Copilot and ClearVue) and tried again. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong as I've done this so many times before with my SPV.

Still no luck.  :cry:
