I think the title says it all... the new Orange catalogue has the HTC Touch Diamond - FREE on Orange £40 + p/m tariffs! Quite a deal i'm sure you'll agree!

Just before anyone flips, the pay as you go bit on the right side of the picture is from the next phone along in the magazine! biggrin.gif

Don't know if anyone else has posted this yet but I went into an orange shop today and got a copy of the July Orange magazine.

On Page 16 it has the HTC touch diamond and clearly states:

Pay Monthly: Free on talk plans £40+

If this is true then BARGAIN!! tongue.gif of course it could end up being on a 400 hundred year contract but heres hoping!!!

Although it shows no prices it says lower down on the page:
"The prices shown here are a guide based on an average plan costing £35 a month. The price of your phone or device may change according to the plan you choose."

Not sure if thats entirely relevant since no prices are shown though haha.

It's been on there for a few days now just to wind us all up. Yet you phone them and they still know nothing sad.gif

As far as i'm concerned, the first network to release gets my contract. The race is on!

With regards to the other keys, I havn't had time recently to have a look at it, been too bust at work etc. Just out of interest which keys is it that are missing that you need/want to use?

240x240 support: Unfortunately I don't have a device that I could test this on to see what the problems are etc. Also I havn't looked at the display code yes either as it all worked for me on my 320x240 device, If it ain't broke then don't fix it smile.gif

Ok, So I got bored this evening and tried playing Treasure Island Dizzy on my M3100 but the keys were a nightmare. So I decided to have a look and try and map the qwerty keyboard on the device to the emualtor.

And it works!!

First download the original fusesp from this site: http://www.aooa27.dsl.pipex.com/FuseSP.htm

Install to the phone and then copy the attached exe file over the orignal.

Run the EXE and Make sure the Screen Orientation is set as Landscape Left.

Things working: All letter and number keys, Enter and Space. (To get number keys you need to hold the Blue dot button in bottom left)

Not working: Punctuation, Delete key and spectrum arrow keys. (I am working on finding the key codes for these).

All games i have tested now work much better and most games allow you to redefine the keys so you can choose what suits you. Also the keybaord allows for multiple key presses so jumping whilst walking is not a problem like it was on many smartphones.

Thanks to Keith Orbell for the original fusesp code. And hopefully full keyboard support will be built into the next official release wink.gif

EDIT - New version uploaded that fixes a small but with the joystick still thinking it's enabled which then screws the keys up. Should be ok now. smile.gif

Have you go this fixed yet?

Your post is a little confusing. You say the text.txt file is available in project explorer but your code is looking for dictionary.txt (Please tell me that is not the problem, he he). Best thing to do it create the streamreader instance with a fixed path of "\\Strorage\\Program Files\\MyApp\\Dictionary.txt" And then manually copy a file called dictionary.txt to this location and then see if it opens ok. If it does you can then try using the getdirectoryname method and test again to see if this is causing a problem. If that isn't the problem then it is more likely to do with the way yu are trying to distribute the Dictionary.txt file to the phone.

Hope I havn't misunderstood what you are trying to achieve.

Matt.

Set the sizemode property of the picturebox to StretchImage. This should make the picture fit inside the box.

Thanks for the test.

I've only been able to transmit NMEA string to it via hyperterminal, but at least now i know it works.

Gonna start on the 0-60 timer now. Push the button whilst car is stationary, then floor it. Phone will display your 0-60 time with reasonable accuracy (Hopefully).

Will post another version once i have got rid of some of the bugs and added some more functionality.

Just a simple program designed to be a digital speedometer for the car.

Things I already know: The 0-60 function doesn't do anything yet, The speed is currently in knots and not mph, The exit function seems to have problems closing the serial port so you have to restart your phone.

Basically just want someone to test to see if it reads the data succesfully from a bluetooth gps device.

Would test it myself but my gps has broken and my new one isn't coming until next week.

If you havn't already done so you will need to install the .net cf from microsoft which can be found here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en

Then copy the gps2.exe from this thread and stick it on your storage card or something.

Pair your bt gps and create an outgoing serial port (Make a note of whether you use COM6 or COM7)

Launch the gps2.exe using filemanager. Choose options and select the com port you have choosen.

If all goes well you should see the NMES GPS data and the bottom of the screen. The time should display the gps fix time (Think it is UTC). And the speedometer should now work.

If anybody can be bothered to do all that them please let me know if you get it to work.

Cheers,

Matt. Croccy22.

The problem with Tomtom was the one where there has to be a folder on the phone in "my documents" named "TomTom" and a file be put inside it.

Since i had a new phone there wasn't any files on this phone.

The problem with sending files via bluetooth still has problems but strangely it works occasionally. Am going to try installing Binarys Smart Explorer and using the bluetooth send on that to see if it gets around the problem.

Ok,

Just got a brand new c600. take the storage card out of my c550 and place it in c600. TomTom won't load properly.

Deleted all the cfg files. Tomtom loads. you can choose language. select units etc. then lists the maps. Select a map and it bombs out and goes back to start menu.

Tried hard reset, tried every setting on phone. Put card back in c550 and it works no problem.

It has got the latest 5.2 update.

Just can't think of anything else to try.

Went back down to orange shop and tried in another c600 and got the same problem.

also get the same problem when i try and beam a file via bluetooth to another phone. don't know if the two problems are related or not though.

Can a few people post their rom version and operator version just to compare incase orange have done another fabulous firmware update on new models?

mine is ROM 1.0.7.0 and OP 11.1.1.9 (Start ->Settings -> More -> System Info)

Cheers, Matt.

Don't wanna go off topic too much. but basically gapidraw is what happened to moon patrol.

Their licensing scheme started chopping and changing every two seconds. Now it is a huge game library that supports every device which makes it bloated and i'm sure slower.

Also they now charge £450 for a single license for one game. Now i'm sure you would all love moon patrol but i'm affraid i ain't got £450 to bring such a game to the market.

Once I have found another game libray and learnt to program it then I might be able to get back into things a bit but until then i just kinda lost interest.

Not that this is anything to go by. But the latest T3 magazine has an exclusive on the c550. Not really any information on it just a big one page picture.

At the bottom of the page it says it is due December

Now I hope to god they are wrong but I guess they must have got this information from somewhere. Lets just hope its not a reliable source!

So is it ready then mate? he he

I have just given up on game programming at the moment. Mainly due to doing other things but also due to the fact that I am just fed up with Gapidraw.

Everytime I go to write something they have changed all the libraries again and made it just that little bit more bloated and slower.

Yes great! it supports every platform under the sun now. Do I want that? er no.

So go for it and once it's out maybe my missile command game will finally see the light of day. It only needs a final rewrite really with a few extra bits so it would be nice to write it using your library to do a test.

One thing. will it support transparencies of any type?
