Alas, I took my phone apart and re-sat the screen connectors to see if that would remedy the situation and it did not, so my phone's on eBay for a good home with someone who's better at repairing it thatn I am.

Please can somebody confirm that it's the T5 screwdriver I need for those smaler screws on the back of the screen rather than T4. This is important as the T5 ones are widely available but the T4 ones only seem to be available from Singapore! (On eBay at least).

I hope I'll be able to fix it easily by reinserting the ribbon connector. I don't suppose replacement ones are avaliable on eBay or somewhere?

Screen details will follow when I've been able to take the screen off - I'll need to order a smaller T6 screwdriver than the standard Nokia size one - does anyone know what the screw size is?

After little more than a month after purchasing it on eBay, the love of my life has broken!

The touchscreen has stopped working for no apparent reason - I suspect the ribbon cable connecting the screen to the main circuit board has come loose or snapped. Everything else is fine.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem and were they able to fix it? Please help, I don't know if I could bear going back to using an old fashioned mobile again!

Chetzy it works, I use it every day. It's very useful but a bit distracting!

Dear all, has anybody managed to get gmail set up to send and receive on their device? If so I'd be grateful to hear from you - it doesn't seem to work at all on mine at the moment!

Dear all,

I found a link to Vodafone's latest released Rom for their VPX variant of the Blue Angel on another forum:

http://www.vodafone-dataworld.co.uk/upload..._11300_Ship.exe

I've just installed the updated ROM and it works perfectly.

I'm using a Vodafone VPX that I purchased on eBay for £125. Not a bad deal methinks.

Device information:

ROM version: 1.22.00 WWE
ROM date: 10/22/04
Radio Version: 1.06.00
Protocol version: 1337.38
ExtROM version: 1.22.155 WWE

I'm thinking of upgrading to the latest ROM from T-Mobile (version 1.42) - is that possible with a Vodafone supplied unit?

What improvements would I notice? Would having a later radio version allow me to connect to WiFi networks with WPA AES encryption?

And if I did use the latest upgrader program from T-Mobile, what are the chances of frying my unit?

I'm trying to work out if upgrading's worth my while.

Thank you for posting the link.

Apologies for the noob questions:

Can I flash my Vodafone VPX with this ROM?

Will doing so lock the handset to the T-Mobile network?
