No 'phone pad' input for messaging, no Pocket PC for me sad.gif
Tengo is good but it's just not the same.

How about HTC Phonepad?

I'm very annoyed that the US version of this phone, the SDA, has that hump.
Yeah, I like that it gives me better reception, but has anyone found a protective case/belt clip/skin, or anything to fit my dear quasimodo here?

What's wrong with the original one that came with the phone?

So can we get a decent modern phone from HTC? I don't mind the extra mm for the extra features but please take a reality check on the C700 disappointment and give us what most of us want!
WITH WI-FI!

It is Orange that do not want to give you more features. Get a T-mobile SDA (US) that has wifi.

Have you tried it with AutoSmartphone script?
http://gamesforsmartphones.co.uk/autosmartphone.shtml

Ensure that you have a registry association for the SHK files. After you have a script, you can remap the camera button to launch it so it would simulate a right softkey click (keycode 113)
http://www.gpcarreon.com/?p=209

Finally I figured out how to use AutoSmartphone script. Now the forward key is remapped to fuction as the right soft key. Thanks.

you can also use THIS to re-map your let's say number 3 key as your right softkey...

Thanks for that. I tried it and it worked. Only thing I do not really like is I have to change from navigation to input mode very often.

It seems not easy to permanently remap one of the media keys to function as sk2.

try to download and install THIS so you can re-map your left softkey on either 1, 3, 7 or 9 key...

That app uses 1,3,7,9 keys. Is there any simpler way to use t-zone key and WM keys to function as the left/right soft keys?

My right soft key doesn't work. Is there anyway to remap it to another key that I don't use (e.g. camera key)??

Be really useful if I could. Thanks.

My SDA (US) has the same problem. Is there any way I can use one of the multimedia keys to function as the right soft key?

I actually called the O2 service centre (callcentre location unknown), and was told in no uncertain terms that the only way to get the O2connect software reinstalled was to send it to some company in Brisbane and I'd get it back sometime in the future. Not terribly helpful.

I sent them an email more that 2 weeks ago for the same issue. No answer heard yet, seems bad service. Do not understand why they do not put o2 connect in a CD, will try to stay away from O2.

But I have a feeling that putting the new ROM on, even though its from T-mobile albeit Germany not UK, I will have invalidated my warranty and I'll get charged for the repairs. Can anyone confirm or refute this as I need to get it sent off asap.

Cheers!

BB79

Why dont you try to flash it using the rom for UK sda

A car charger should solve this problem.

So I did this ROM upgrade a wee while ago (still not fixed the GPRS settings tho) but now my back/delete key has broken and I'm sending my phone for repair as it is still under warranty. Question is will I get into trouble for having the German ROM on it - have I invalidated my warranty by using it? If so how can I get the original ROM back on my phone??

Cheers

BB79

Is your original ROM UK version? If so try to locate it on the net -- I saw it somewhere a few days ago.

My /Storage directory has two files that can't be deleted, renamed or copied. One is reporting a files size of 3.9GB and has a name like "¬¬" and the other is "BBBB" with a size of 6.7MB. I also have a file called "o" with a file size of 0.

I can't reset the phone (my right softkey doesn't work) so I can't tell if these are system files or something strange. Any ideas?

I had similar problem, butthat was due to the failure of the card reader/writer.
