You could try logmein to remotely control the pc - not quite a remote control but something you can control your pc with from anywhere. and it is free. You can't stream media though, for that orb is supposed to be good. |

Where can I get the latest Radio Stack from? Thanks If you don't know that you shouldn't be doing it. It is possible to brick your phone so read everything before considering it. http://xda.developers.com For example (upgrading to WM6) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=302433 |

Hi all I have COD PPC running on my Dell Axim x51V quite nicely, I know this wont help you but I can confirm it does run quite well. But I agree that its a shame they don’t have a demo version. It doesn't install on my Vario II - so don't bother buying it for the Hermes |

I'm one of the many people who is LOVING 3G - with HSDPA that really seals the deal. Couldn't move to another provider unless they offered the same, flat-rate data offerings with HSDPA - I'm totally hooked, and I'll remain a T-Mobile customer for the foreseeable future. The phone was an awesome price too, even taking into account it's an 18-month contract. Can't beat it. I get over 1mb/sec when I use the phone as a wireless modem, but I don't do that so often - I still get 700/800kbps easy through the phone, and that's even with the lag the phone induces because of its slow CPU. I call it a bargain! totally agree currently downloading torrent in background (wmtorrent 30kbs), looking at ie and using logmein to remotely control pc - i need hspda - when i move to gprs it doesn't seem worth even looking at static web. Perhaps this is the silliest thread i've seen - i can never return to not having internet reasonably fast always. The problem with slow rendering and display is windows mobile - internet exploration starts slow and builds up speed. |

The problem is this: I cannot get Vario II to connect to internet through internal wireless modem. There are 3 lights - connection, send data and receive data. None of them light up ever. I had a previous vario II and it worked so I know my computer settings are correct. The APN is changed to general.t-mobile.uk so I don't know what is wrong. I seem to remember the connection light would light up before connecting to computer somehow. Any ideas anyone would be very grateful and don't want to send for repair again. |

I see convergence between UMPC and PPC Imagine being able to install windows xp! All they need to do is to add basic telephony and they say cost $700 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mittuhu7XbA |

I'm not sure what I am going on about really, other than replacing the device would be directly disproportionate to the cost of repair? If this is the case are they therefore allowed to offer just the repair? I would i had the patience for contract law! Regardless, take bydandie's advice, as it is quite possible that they will issue you with a replacement device to save consumer satisfaction. Alternatively, you can call the call-centre where i work and i'll give you a replacement code thanks for all the advice at the moment problem seems not to be getting worse. Uninstalled some stuff and that seems to have helped for now. the version is a 635 so i hoped i'd been lucky enough not to get it. |

I now have occassional screen alignment issues after hard reset to make it more stable. I never had this before the reset. I am about 2 months into my contract and bought from a store. Has anyone managed to get a replacement straight away after the 30 day period or is does it always have to go to repair? Thanks |

Finally thought I'd be brave Richard did a hard reset on my vario ii as it was crashing a bit too often. all went well, very easy. took a while to set up everything as i like it and get activesync to put all my contacts back. but worth it. no crashes since despite reinstalling most of the stuff on before plus one or two extra. if your having problems don't be afraid of this. |

It'll work - it's just that the different WnW plans let you "officially" do different things. It's just if they catch you doing something not allowed on your plan they may reduce your speed or even cancel. If you don't want to risk TMob having a pop then check which of the WnW variants allows IM. i haven't heard any cases of tmob reducing anyones service. i would imagine it is more trouble than it is worth unlesd you are constantly skyping or downloading movies. if they were that bothered about it would msn be available out of the box? |

Yes it is. There's a thread on another site where many people are reporting success with this method. Pof's unlocker makes your Hermes sim-free, super CID and security level 0, if you flash to another rom afterwards you lose the super CID and security level but the sim-free stays forever. what is super cid and security level 0? |

I've just had my phone on me today (as I was getting my number ported), and noticed the battery life was shocking. Took it off charge at 6am, had about 20 mins browsing the web on the way to Portsmouth, two 5 minute calls, and about 20 mins browsing the web on the way back, and it's down to 20%. That's with wifi and bluetooth disabled. Should I be concerned about having a faulty unit, or do I need to 'initialise' it with a few full discharge/recharge cycles? My vario ii was very poor on battery at the start. now it is much better (1 week in). currently at 36 no charge and 50% battery. been making calls, using net but no bluetooth or wifi. In fact i'm writing this on it. |
