Hmm... I don't get why activesyncing ovet bt has to be so darn hard on my Prophet. Back on my C500 all i had to do was turn on bt and run a "automatic sync app"... On the prophet i have to click 8 times before i am able to sync... Is there a cool smart way that people have figured out or is the manual way the only way?? Thanks |

TomTom do not officially support the M5000 and people have had some problems getting it to work with nom TomTom receivers (why not just buy it with the TomTom receiver?) CoPilot 6 does support the M5000 The integration with the address book is much better with CoPilot but TomTom is a more roiunded product and although I use CoPilot myself most people (myself included) think TomTom is a better product. If you don't already have a receiver I would recommend buying the TomTom package including the TomTom receiver, if you buy a different receiver you *might* have problems. CoPilot will install and work with any receiver. Thanks for the very good and speedy replies, guess i will be scanning the market a little bit more |

To keep it simple I recommend the Holux GPSlim 236. It has 20 channels (recommended) Sirf - III chipset (don't get any other!) Has good cold and warm signal detection speeds. Also, there's plenty of information on this forum for how to get this receiver connected to your device. A few things to clear up about eBay purchases... There's some on there with 32 channels, this is NEVER going to be needed. I think there's only about 28 satellites around the earth and you can actually only see (the GPS unit, not you personally) about 11 or so at any time. (approximate figures here, I may be wrong). So only go 20 channels max! (OK so I said 11 would be the most you'd see, but the better units usually come with 20 channels, plus it allows for future satellites that may be launched! :S ) There's another chipset on there claiming to be a sirf III killer. It's not, don't buy it. If you're new to ebay too then remember to check the postage!!! A lot of these units come from Hong Kong so shipping can be almost as much as the receiver! Good luck! Have been looking at the Holux GPSlim 236 for a couple of days now, and it seems like a good divice. So just get things perfectly clear... I buy the Holux GPSlim 236, pair it with my qtek S200 and buy the gps maps (tom tom and those..) and i am all set to go?? By the way, which software works best on wm5 ppc's ?? Thanks |

Hi, am I right in thinking you want a BT GPS receiver? If so then eBay have lots at very good prices. Yes but i am really new to this gps market and have no clue what to look for... eg how many channels and so forth. Where might i find this information and perhaps some kind of compatability list? |

Hey I cant get my wifi to work on my school. The network uses PEAP and i seem to be able to set up almost all settings, but when i go into 802.1x and select PEAP and click properties it tells me that i need a valid certificate!?! I dont what this is or how to get it. The School uses EAP-MSCHAP v2 so i figure thats what i have to set up in properties...but it just tells me that i need a personal certificate to verify me... Please help Thanks |

I don't know of a homescreen plugin, but I know of a free program to set your alarm. It's just a front end for the built in alarm. It's called alarmset (http://smart.anderuso.net). Hopefully it'll tide you over until you find exactly what you're looking for. Thanks but the app is for mobile2003. I cant believe that there is no app that will let you show and set the alarm on the today screen... |

Just got my brand new Qtek S200 (Prophet) a couple of days ago and i must say i am impressed !!! However, i am in need of a good alarm plugin for the home screen. My previous device was the C500 and on that one i had a "one-click" set alarm app that let me edit the alarm directly on the homescreeen and showed what time it was set to. Does a similar app exist for ppc wm5? I basically just want the alarm time to be shown and edited as simply as possiple... Thanks |

QUOTE(shadamehr @ Mar 14 2006, 02:26) It would HELP if you were more specific with the devices... As there is a Samsung S200... but as you posted in a Pocket PC forum, we'll discount that one, and ASSUME you mean the Qtek S200 Pocket PC device, yes? However, from the M600 point of view, its not so clear... as there is the Orange SPV M600 Pocket PC, but there is also the Eten M600 Pocket Pc phone too, which looks a bit different. I'm not an expert, but ASSUMING you mean the Qtek S200, compared to the Orange M600, then as best I can tell, they are both the actual same physical device - that of the real named, HTC Prophet... But I am sure more knowledgeable users will confirm or deny... If I am right though, the device is one and the same... The difference then comes down to preference... They can both be freely SIM and CID unlocked, so you can use any sim, and install any rom... But the Qtek device would be sim unlocked out of the box, whereas the Orange one wouldn't. If on the other hand, I have just waffled on about the completely wrong devices, then I refer you back to my first comment, about how you could have made it clearer... Sorry I wasn't being clear enough, didn't see the orange m600. The two devices I have been looking at is the Qtek S200 and the Eten M600. So once again, what are the pros and cons? Thanks |

QUOTE(Pete2 @ Mar 11 2006, 19:25) If you still want to be able to type text messages the way you're used to you can add a small utility called sms writer (thou i prefer to use the stylus and screen keyboard). That looks really good, i am definately getting one now !!! Does anybody know anything about the qtek s200? Thats the one i am most keen on at the moment. Anders |

Hey. I need some advice on which device to get. Are there any recommendations, any favorits at the moment? Looking for a device with a nice big screen for good calander options and nice overview. Its is essential that i can use phone capabilities well (sms and talk). I am mostly worried about the sms thing, if there is no keyboard. Can you get used to writing on the device without the keyboard? Thanks Anders |

QUOTE(encece @ Jan 19 2006, 03:18) AS can sync on two pcs but will only allow one sync of ActiveSync Mail. A.Hughes is suggesting you compensate for this by synchronizing your mail folders on your two pcs seperately from ActiveSync. That will be just as good, but can you please post a how to. Currently both computers have wireless lan connections but i dont how to sync outlook through that, if its possible i will be happy as a pig :-) A guide would be helpful, or at least a link to one... Thanks. |

Hey I have recently aquired a new pc, which i want to sync with my laptop and c500, in order to keep my outlook folder updated. I have tried doing it while setting up two partnerships, but it wont let me sync my mail which is the most important part. Is there an app which lets my sync two pc's, that way i only have to sync my spv with one of them. Please help... Thanks (A week back i posted a similar post in software applications, but i guess the post really belongs here so go ahead and delete the other one moderators) |

QUOTE(DomConway @ Jan 9 2006, 18:21) I sync my C500 with both my work and home PCs with no problems at all. Just make sure that when you create the partnership with whichever PC you do second, you check the box that reads something like "allow this device to sync with more than one computer"! Hmm... cant really seem to get it to work. The problem is that it gives me an error message stating that mail cannot be syncronized on two partnerhips!!! On comp no. 2 it tells me to delete the partnership and set up again stating that i only want to sync with one comp. Mail is the most important part of my syncing !!! Any ideas anyone?? In theory, could i buy a bluetooth dongle for my pc and sync directly with my laptop (which has build-in bluetooth), without using spv as intermediary? |
