on turning on the phone it does go to TPC but only momentarily and it goes away. but yes on same rare instances the TPC does stay on the screen but thats very rare there should be no need to press the exit key, it should go away automatically Hmmmmmm looks like I have some additional things to work out. Mine stays on all the time. I have to manually clear it. |

display problem is not with the rom, its with some applications that incorrectly handle the backlighting. tcpmp, core player and i think opera (not mini) also causes this problem. Thanks Praj, I actually just figured it out. I downloaded and installed a new home screen and this caused it to hang. I changed themes and it's working great now |

Randolph [attachment=23088:sshot005.jpg] Looby, first off EXCELLENT work! This is a great theme but I too would like to know whey these icons are not active? Is there a way to activate them and/or change them? Sorry for the questions but I've not played with adding and removing functionality to the homescreen. Thanks!! |

Been playing with my S710 for 1 week now and like it alot. Ive installed the basic utilities, overclocked with PowerTornadoControl, updated to latest HTC ROM, etc. But I still have 2 annoying problems: 1. Wifi network settings lost I have a WiFI network at home with basic WEP encryption (I know I know its lame but I have an old win98 laptop that connects to this network! I also have MAC address filtering anyways...). I configured the network and entered the 14 ASCII characters that makes up the network key. It connects no problem and I get an IP assigned dynamically by DHCP server... But sometimes when I enable the WiFi it tries to connect and then I get prompted for network key. Sometimes it work and others I get prompted for the key again and again. It happens once in a while ... any ideas? 2. Display doesnt turn off! Another problem that come and go... I tried editing/creating the Display value in the registry HKCU/ControlPanel/Power/Display and played with the power management in settings but sometimes it work, sometimes no. I noticed that sometime the Display registry key gets deleted (ie if I go in Power Management setting) or reset to a big value (only thing I could think of is TCPMP overwriting it) Hope someone can help... I too have the issue of the backlight not going off. I upgraded to the new ROM yesterday and this is when it started. I too am running tornado, I'm curious if its a conflict with the new rom? I may uninstall it and see if it works when clocked to stock speeds. |

Thanks praj. I've checked all my settings and this is exactly what I have (with the exception of the overclocking set to 264) and it works but I still have one question. When I turn the phone on It goes directly to the tornado screen where it overclocks it to my setting but the screen remains on. I then have to "exit" out or just hit the home key to get off the screen. Is this normal? I was under the impression that the "hide" command would make it load and run in the background without defaulting to this screen. Its no biggie, I just clear it and it seems to work fine. Thanks again for all the help and let me know about the tornado screen load. |

Me too!! Considering the VOX already works with SCHC cards, I'd say there is a good chance this will work. I'm running a 4gb now and know the 6gb works......I'd LOVE to step up to something like this if possible. Great find!! `:) |

Mr. Prajit, it looks like, initially though you weren't able to view the ROM update at the htc.com website, you were able to download the same somehow. Please help, as how you managed the same. I am still unable to view any sort of information out there. Hi All, I have the English update file available but I'm not sure if I can post this up or not? Admin's please clarify how/if I should do this. I installed it today and there are two items I noticed right off the bat that are fixed. First being the windows update is working (as noted above) but there were none available upon checking. Also, it now has an auto config setting to download the network settings automatically (in my case it's ATT) Not sure this is new but on my original ROM this was not the case. I manualy configured not only my network settings but also MMS. So far so good. On a side note, I have the overclocking setup FINALLY working with the Tornado program and I've been screaming at 264mhz for about a week without issue. What else has been offered in this latest ROM upgrade? |

Cheers... - it just says in nice, pretty green letters across the top; Phone Software Updates. Nothing underneath I get the same thing.........How about somebody just downloading and putting up the file?? Is there a chance that some of us already have the updated rom in our phones? I highly doubt it but who knows. Can someone post us the version of the NEW installed ROM? I'm currently running the following: CE OS: 5.2.1235 Build 17740.0.2.0 Radio Version: 4.1.13.37_02.83.90 RIL Version: 2.002 CE ROM Update Version: 5.2.1235.17740 |

Thanks prajith, I checked and nothing was installed automatically. I've decided to run v1.4 of TPC which I don't think automatically installs this link. From what I've read, everyone has to manually create it. Has this changed in the beta 2.0?? At any rate, I copied a link I found in another thread into the startup folder and then placed the load.exe file into the programs folder and WALLA it worked! Well........I thought it worked.......until It went to sleep again and when it went back to bright it was back to the 186mhz. Now what?? Can you please post up the actual link you have in your startup folder? Here is what I've added to mine: 43#"\Program Files\load.exe" -hide "\Program Files\TornadoPowerControl\TornadoPowerControl.exe" bright hide Does this look right? Please help!! TIA Don Ok, well I've got it almost working. Here is what I've noticed. I've re-added everything including the load.exe program to their respective folders. I start the phone, it boots up and brings me directly to the tornado screen where it shows the "bright" setting (verified with Omap its running at 240) so all is well. If I click "exit" to get out of the program and let the phone go back to its rest state and restart it I get it back at the default of 186 and it doesn't work. If I don't exit and simply hit the "home" button after the phone boots and tornado loads everything seems to work as mentioned. My only question is I though adding the "hide" argument would eliminate that tornado screen from popping up and keep it from showing up on task manager which it is still doing? I'd really like to have this run in the background but If not I'll live with it. Any additional ideas?? |

when you install TPC, it will place itself in the startup list. (check for tpc in startup folder) Did you copy the Load.Exe file into the \Program Files\ folder ? I think you might have missed that. If you didn't then TPC wont run. Thanks prajith, I checked and nothing was installed automatically. I've decided to run v1.4 of TPC which I don't think automatically installs this link. you dont have to do anything to the startup folder. tornado does that Thanks for the files and the insight. I added these to the folder and it's still not working like it should. It will spool up to 240 (which I changed from 228) when I physically select the Tornado program, however, once the backlight goes off it doesn't automatically go back to 240 once it wakes up. It also doesn't start up at 240 when I turn the phone on. I was under the impression that there needed to be something in the startup folder to manage this functionality? Someone please help!! TIA Don |

I have my vox running at 228 Mhz on power on and 186Mhz on useridle and backlight off I chose 228 Mhz because at 240 Mhz and above there is a slight flicker on the LCD (horizontal lines), you have to look close on a light background to notice that. I have attached the shortcut files considering that you install Tornado Power control to device and not to card. these shortcut files (.lnk) should be inside the "\Program Files\TornadoPowerControl\" folder. extract all 3 .lnk files from the attached rar and copy to that folder and if you want to increase the speed just open the .lnk files in notepad and change the value [attachment=23462:tpc.rar] THANK YOU, i'll try it tonight. BTW, do you need to add the shorcut to the startup folder or is that not necessary? does tornado start automatically or do you manually select it when your phone starts? |

Ok gang, I've been messing with this for months and have been fairly successful in getting this to work but It's still not 100%. I have a couple questions. First off, i'm currently running v 1.4. Should I upgrade to the Beta 2.0? second, I can't seem to get the tornado power control to function correctly. I've read several posts over and over, copied pasted .lnk shortcuts, tried the "load" program etc... and it still isn't working correctly. It is adjusting the clock settings to my desired set points (manually), however, upon resume from locking the phone or from "idle" it won't set the clock back up to 240 where I have it set. I need to select the tornado program again to get it working or manually set the clock from Omap. I've verified all the files are in the same folder,etc... but it's still not working. Could someone please post their EXACT locations and links so I can verify my settings? Any other things I need to check? TIA, I need to get this working!! |

I have it installed on my SDA, installed it before I went to the imate rom. How about I zip the contents of that directory and email them to you? I think you could then put the whole directory onto your storage card and it should function. Right? Let me know if you'd like to try that. You'll have to PM me your email address or something, or I could PM you my home PC's webpage address and set it up so you can DL it from there. I only get around 30K upload speed though... Let me know, Jeff Jeff, thanks so much I'd like to give it a shot. I'll send you my e-mail via PM. Thanks again!!! Don |

Have you added add new value "0000101b": dword = 1 to HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies ? If you did, try to fully switch the phone off and then on. If it still will not help, then Cingular somehow have the different ROM that prevents backlight to be controlled by LowLight... Yes, I did add that and it still doesn't work. I just deleted it and reinstalled the new value and the software, rebooted the phone and I still end up with the same error. I'm not running the Cingular rom but the Imate rom. Could this be the issue??? Don |

You must've not fully unlocked the phone. If some program or somebody tells you that "your phone now is fully unlockes" this often only the half-truth. Please follow instructions in the first post to the letter. Also you may read WM5torage thread about unlocking problems people had - it pretty much the same. Ingvarr, thanks for the info. I'm pretty sure my phone is 100% unlocked. I actually did it again when I had issues the first time just to make sure. Everything is set according to the post and I've not had issues installing any of the other unsigned programs into it. I'm wondering if it's an issue with the Imate rom on a Cingular 2125? any thoughts on this? |

Well, it's true that you can't install ClearVue from the 2125 cd if you changed to the I-Mate ROM. However, if you had originally installed Clearvue to your storage card prior to switching ROMs and didn't uninstall it, then Clearvue is still on your storage card and completely functional. You just need to find the clearvue folder in your Storage Card/program files folder, find the 4 executables in there and make shortcuts to them, and move those shortcuts to your Windows/Start Menu folder. Then you can access the programs no sweat. If, however, you did uninstall them, then you're out of luck unless you change back to a Cingular ROM. Thanks but unfortunately I didn't install it prior to the change. Looks like I'm SOL for the time being.......that is unless I get really adventurous and try Phil's option Don |

Has anyone had luck installing this on a 2125?? Mine is totally unlocked but I'm having an issue with the install. I have no issue installing the cab file but when I select it in the start menu I get this error: "system access denied. This application must run in trusted mode to work properly. Maybe you need to fully application-unlock your device." I've done the complete unlock procedure and have updated the rom to the SP5. Is this the issue? anyone have input on this? TIA TTT, has anyone seen this issue before? |

Do you really need 4000 contacts on your phone though? As far as I know you can only store your contacts on the device, only backups can be made to the storage card. Well, not really but unfortunately I'm at the mercy of the sych settings for our CRM solution at work. I can only import a certain subset into outlook and it includes all my clients and contacts. so for the interim I need to download them all. So there is no way to redirect this to a file on the storage card? I really didn't think this would be such a big deal but it must be. I figured it would be a similar setting as the e-mail redirection to the storage card. |

I switched the ROM on my Cingular 2125 to the I-Mate SP5 ROM and it won't allow me to install the ClearVue version that came on my install CD. Does someone have a link to the version that works on the I-Mate version? I checked HTC's site and they only have it for the US version which I feel is the same as what I already have. |

I'm not aware of a way to move the contacts to the storage card. SmartTweaker and other tweaks will relocate your inbox, attachments, and IE Cache to the storage card but not the contacts. I'm not sure if that can be done. If so I would be interested but the topic referred to just lists how to move the inbox and attachments. You are correct. I just went through the post page by page and didn't see it. I did see where someone else also asked about this but no answer was given. My thoughts are if there is a way to move the inbox and other files, there has to be a way to move the contacts. I hope someone can shed some light on this as I'm sure otheres would be interested in this. |
