Cab installs fine and the app starts as it should on my MTeoR (could just upgrade the rom to get the player in rom, but as I'm going on vacation I don't feel like wiping my phone right now). Whenever I open a streaming link everything seems to work fine, but then I get the error stated in the first post - after buffering to 100% it just closes (it doesn't start the video at all). Has anyone found a fix to this problem? |

Yeah, I know - it was a long shot... I really don't want to part with my phone to hand it in for repairs and get it back wiped... On the other hand there's a new ROM out with a lot of cool features (RTSP-streaming!) so I'll probably wipe it anyway. |

Thanks for your reply, but that's not really it. That setting only regulates the time before the cursor steps on to the next position when you use the regular text input method. However, I'm having problems also in T9 mode and even the left softkey does the same (making it tough to unlock the phone at times as the two registered keypresses mean unlock and then cancel). |

I'm really happy with my HTC MTeoR, but recently it has started to make double keypresses on a number of the hardware keys. This makes writing almost impossible somtimes. I really don't want to turn it in for repairs just yet... Is there a registry setting for the delay between key repeats? I'm thinking a temporary software fix could be just upping it a few milliseconds... |

Most smartphone does not support Bluetooth HID profile (human interface device) or not be enabled, it may need to hack the registry to enable it. OH, it pairs up just fine. The keyboard does exactly what it should, but there's really no corresponding actions for a mouse on a smartphone without touchscreen... |

I use pocketdivxencoder. It has a lot of pre-made profiles etc. but also allows a lot of manual settings (like cropping etc.) http://divx.ppccool.com/. The author has started making a commercial version as well, called Lathe, which I haven't tried yet. The encoding profile I'm currently using started by selecting a regular PPC, the iPAQ icon (240 x 320), setting it to maximum quality for audio (6) and video (20), selecting very high quality, two passes, XVID, and rotate 90 degrees (since i watch my vids i landscape mode and rotating in the player during playback introduces a lot of tearing). I also upped brightness and saturation a little bit, but that's just a matter of taste. For 4:3 I usually leave the video as it is, for 1:1.78 (fullscreen on a widescreen TV, very common for TV series) I usually crop the sides to make it 320 x 210, for 1:2.35 (standard movie format) I usually crop to 320 x 180. This gives excellent viewing quality and file sizes of about 80-100 MB for 25 minutes shows and 150-190 MB for 42 minutes. |

For this you need the illusive "Orange plugin". It's supposed to be on Orange phones only, but a little bit of Google hunting surely will give you some nice results... :-) I won't post an example as I haven't gotten my xml to properly display two plugins next to each other (display is fine, but when I select the rightmost one it scrolls on top of the leftmost...). There are loads of example homescreens using the orange plugin though! |

I think it looks spectacular. I know how it's going to be though, forget syncing with Exchange etc. So what we need is a PPC clone of the iPhone, who do you think will make the first? |

Just guessing, but my answer would be no. What you should be able to do is write some of the code in C++ (the service interface) and the rest in C#. I've seen MS use that architecture for instance in creating a Today Screen for PPC in C# (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms839442.aspx). What would be really useful is if someone would write a generic service host that any C# service could use... |

The SP1 has gone out of beta. If you choose storage card as destination it will install the GAC (about 5 MB) to the card and the CLR (1 MB) to the device, to keep performance from dropping. |

If what you're developing can be done in C# your setup is exactly what you need. :-). Personally I don't know if you can hook into the SMS receive event as suggested in the other thread using .NET (hoping so though, it would be cool :-) ). Add two projects to your solution, one smart device project (for smarthphone) and one deployment project that is used to build the installation cab. |

TrueConnect is pretty cool! It won't handle a BT mouse connected directly to the phone though (checked with Raspberry support)... Someone should make an app that does that! |

By the way, I also solved my BaseHue problem. The trick is to not specify a value for COLOR_TRAYGRADLEFT, since that value is used to set the BaseHue. If your the has the value set, it will overwrite the BaseHue set in the registry every time the phone is powered up. As far as I know, there are many BaseHues you can't set with appropriate values for COLOR_TRAYGRADLEFT (most grayscale ones for instance). |

OK, but that wasn't the problem. There were tasks but the plugin would always be hidden after the phone was rebooted. A reinstall fixed it though... |

I've made my own homescreen which I'm fairly happy with. Problem is though that each time I restart the phone, the OxiosTasks plugin doesn't display. I have to reactive the homescreen in settings to get it back... Anyone had the same problem? (also, BaseHue set via BaseHue Express resets itself on each restart) |

I've just connected a bluetooth keyboard to my HTC MTeoR and it works great! Quite a surprise, but then again - why wouldn't it... I've also connected a bluetooth mouse. The connection works fine but it doesn't do anything... Is there anyway of tricking the phone into displaying a mouse pointer? |
