I used to have an SMT5600 and would sync between my work PC and my laptop at home to keep contacts and calendar current between the two. I now have the 3125 and want to sync the same way. ActiveSync looks a little different as I now see the different sync settings by system. If I make a change on my work computer to an appointment, that change does not sync with my home computer. I have to delete the appointment and redo it.

Also, my Smartphone Notes is having trouble. The PC says it syncs, but not the laptop notes, and the laptop says the opposite. The version of Activesync I'm using is 4.5.0 (Build 5096). Anyone else having these issues?

I sync my Cingular Audivox SMT5600 fine with my personal laptop at home and my work computer. I last sync'd it with my laptop on Sunday morning. I tried to sync it again last night, and it came up with the message that Outlook is no longer installed on the laptop. Outlook is working fine on the laptop. I rebooted the phone and the laptop, same issue. I came into work today, and it sync'd fine with my work computer running the same version of Outlook (2003). I did download the latest version of Activsync and it still can't seem to find Oulook.

No, it won't run on the Smartphone. The company replied back that it won't work. I just did a hard reset and reinstalled my apps.

Thanks,

I highly recommend SKTools (http://www.s-k-tools.com), it can uninstall ANYTHING that WM5 fails to, and has automated cleaning and maintenance tools too.

It's not free, but it is a steal at $9 smile.gif

I downloaded the trial version of SKTools. I got it to install, but the program itself won't launch. I have the Audiovox SMT5600 running Windows Mobile 2003 SE. I noticed on Handango it wants a PocketPC device name versus a Smartphone name. I emailed SK Tools support to find out if if should run on my device.

Thanks for the tips. I'll check them both out. I would usually stick the .hme or .cab file in the home directory, and it installed fine. I tested a few on my storage card, and they worked fine as well. Do other people have problems if they install the file from their storage card? I'd hate to do a hard reset of my phone, and reinstall all my apps. It doesn't bother me *that* much, but would if it started slowing my phone down.

Never change homescreens that have been installed from bab/hme without properly uninstalling them using the tool.
You could either reinstall them one-by-one and uninstall them immediately or have a look in our Downloads section for the Home_Restore_cab which might do the trick.

I'll poke around for the tool (I did a search on it within downloads and nothing came back). One of the home themes is one I installed today, but it didn't look right, so I tried to uninstall it right away and it wouldn't. I just tried to reinstall some of the themes, but it won't reinstall them either.

I wanted to remove some themes I'm no longer using. I went through "Remove Program", it acts like it's trying to remove, but then on several items it comes back and says "*** could not be removed from your phone." I also tried to go through Activesync/Tools, and that won't remove them either. Finally, I manually deleted the files, but they are still hanging around the Remove Programs list. I have rebooted the phone too. I'm not sure where to get the remnants cleaned up. I did a search on this topic but didn't find the answer.

I thought I would use some of the other utilities within the program....but the main issue was the start menu. gStart works great though.

Next question - what's a good free weather program? I've poked around. I've tried ConnectedBits, but it won't update reliably. I downloaded the trial of WeatherCenter ($12...) and that will update pretty good. FizzWeather ($14?) won't update either. I've tried them on my work network and my network at home. Any other ones I should try....any free? I like the details that WeatherCenter gives, specifically the wind conditions because I rollerblade a few nights a week when it's not too windy.

I downloaded the trial version of Tweaks2k2 yesterday and it seemed to work fine on my Audiovox SMT5600. It did get hung when I was reordering the start menu, but I reset it and it worked fine w/the changes I had made. I bought the program and registered it. Now, when I go in to edit the start menu again, it's all out of order. It has ActiveSync as the first item and all the ones I really want at the end (4 screens later). When I go back in to reoder, it's only listing about six of the items (For instance, ActiveSync isn't listed as an option to replace on the menu). When I explore my phone under Apps, Windows, Start Menu, I see the ones there that I see available for editing. The problem is - I can't select ActiveSync to replace with eWallet because it's not in the Tweaks2k2 list. Anyone else having a similar problem? The help function is useless.

I actually think my batteries are running better. They were really draining fast before, but seem to be holding better now. I did the update yesterday afternoon, so perhaps it will get worse....?

I used the same songs (.wav files) as ringers on my Samsung before I ran the update on Friday. Now, when the phone is ringing, the music pauses like there's a memory problem. I have it on vibrate and ring, and I tried it several different ways, and it still pauses each time. Anyone else having this issue?

I ran the update Friday at work. All my programs work (had to be reloaded) including E-Wallet, Weather, Resco Photo, ClearVue suite, etc. My main problem is with my ringers. They now pause while the phone is ringing like there's a memory problem.

I have the Samsung i600 and I love it. I use it 100% personal. I live in the Virginia Beach, VA, area. I just bought some skins off Ebay because the cases were too bulky. I also bought some screen protectors. I purchased an extra sync cradle so I could sync at home and work. I didn't buy the Verizon version though - too expensive!

I have:
E Wallet
PhotoViewer
Weather

These covers look pretty good. Does anyone make protective, non-glare plastic for the screens themselves?

How does Verizon charge you for the instant messaging if you use MSN?

Thank you! That was driving me crazy. Of course it doesn't note that icon in the huge manual you get on the CD.
