I agree too, though I'd really wish some specs will be more towards the Touch Pro than to the Diamond, i.e., 1350 mAh battery, microSD-slot. But then hopefully thinner than the Raphael. Maybe the keypad will have room for a 'start' and 'ok' key even smile.gif. But now I'm just fantasizing.

Has there been any further news yet with regards to a release date?

Spoke to some guys in the Orange shop a few days ago and they were totally clueless about it.

It all seems to be very quiet with regards to the Titanium release.... really hope its worth the wait.

The Touch Dual without doubt has been my favourite device, and I've had pretty much all the Orange WinMo devices since the first SPV.

I'm having problems accessing my Vista desktop via the Windows 6 Mobile RDP Client.

I set up a data connection.
Load the client.
Type in the credentials...

Yet it seems to return "Invalid user name or password"

and yet I know both of them are correct.

I've tried logging in locally to the pc with the same ones and they are fine. The username is definitely under the "Remote Desktop Users" profile.

I cant figure out what im doing wrong.

Can anyone help?

I get just over a day with Direct Push, BT on, 3-4 calls, checking three other POP3 accounts and listening to music for around an hour and GPS on the way home.

Bottom line is that BT seems to hammer the device. HSDPA is switched on the Touch Plus's by default and you have to find a copy of HSDPASwitch.exe to disable it and that can also hammer the device.

There are tweaks on devs here that can help too.

I have to say the Touch Dual is one of the worst Windows Mobile phones for battery life I've had.

It does get better with time, and with 3G disabled.

Nothing has ever come close to my C600 - that baby would go for days!!!!

What are people's experiences with battery life so far on the Touch Dual?

I have just upgraded from an E650, and have to say, im quite disappointed so far.

With one days usage, after a full night of charging, one or two text messages, no calls, and no data with the phone being on standby most of the day at work, by the time I get home at 8pm, the battery is at 47%.

Will this resolve itself after several charges or have I got a faulty unit?

Postcode search is rather limited. Do uou have 123 instead of ABC on the keyboard selected????

Not that I can see. Whats odd, is when I open the keypad, and use those, the letters which dont have numbers on them, work fine, but the keys with numbers on, will only appear as numbers, no matter what combination you press.

Confusing!

Stop me if im being ultra stupid here, but

I've downloaded this to my SPV E650, but whenever I try and enter information such as a postcode, numbers appear instead of the letters.

What am I doing wrong?!

So tomtom 6 works like a dream on the vox . . .
But . . ...

When you use the qwerty keyboard (to enter a place name say) the keys that double up as the Fn number keys TomTom takes them as if you had pressed the number key not the letter?

The other keys are fine so as long as your place name does not have any of the following letters in it

E R T Y
S D F G
X C V B

You will be fine?

Most odd

Glad I wasnt the only one which this happened to! Very bizarre. If there's a fix for it, I would be interested!

I've finally managet to have TT Navigator 6 working on the Vox using Fakecursor and Xbar - the ONLY prob I have now is that, even having a "voice" folder full of, ahem, voices tongue.gif , no voice can be selected from within TomTom... huh.gif
Any suggestion?
Thx!

Ive installed it on my E650 after the application unlock with no problems. Only issue I have is entering locations. Sometimes the keys you press on the keyboard, appear as something totally different in the application. I had the letter G appearing when I entered a W. Even choosing the letter with a mouse via Active Sync remote display triggered the same problem.

Any ideas?

Is there still going to be a version of the de-brander for the E650? I hope so!

I have the HTC version of the 650 (not Orange locked)
Managed to get TT6 installed but then hit the usual problem of not being able to navigate in some menus cos the up/down changes the volume not the menu selection.

Then I installed "ActiveSync Remote Display" (part of Windows Mobile Developer Power Toys, download here) this allows you to control the phone from the PC and use mouse clicks to select menu items.

Using this I was able to configure the GPS and get it all working... but now that its working using it, is pretty hard cos the up/down doesnt work in the menus. If you have all your addresses configured in Contacts then its fine, but anything custom aint pretty.

N.

I have installed Remote Display, but on my system, all you get is a visualisation of the display on the desktop. The mouse clicks do nothing, and you cant actually navigate around the phone using the PC mouse.

Am I doing something wrong?

I see you used to have a M3100. why did u go from that to the E650? i see it as a downgrade, except for USB 2.0

http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdacomparer&a...716&id2=558

The M3100 was ok, but I couldnt get used to the fact that I couldnt use it one handed. I found it a hassle every time I wanted to send a text message, and it was also a little bulky for my taste.

Im not that heavy of a data user either, so that side of it didnt worry me too much.

Ive had the Original SPV, the E100, the C500, the C550, the C600, the M3100 and now the E650, and I see the current one as a bit of a sensible compromise between the C600 and the M3100.

E650 number 3 delivered this morning.

... so far, so good.

No squeak. Everything sounds as it should.

Fingers crossed!

Damned annoying.

Same thing happened when I first bought the C550, was only the fourth handset that was actually fully functional and without faults.

All those had sticky, unresponsive keys too.

Wonder if there's a bad E650 batch kicking around?

Ok. Here's the thing.

Took delivery of my new E650 last Friday. Everything seemed ok apart from when you used the left hand directional control, it "squeaks" - didnt feel as positive as the other directions, but worked ok.

Rang the helpdesk, arranged a replacement.

That arrived this morning. Got this one home, and its EXACTLY THE SAME !!

So, my question is - how many of you out there have a squeaky left hand key?

Is it normal??

Is there a way to get the M3100 to use the same font as my old SPV C600?

Menus and things looked much better using that font.

Can this be done? If so, what was the font called and how can it be installed?

After several recommendations on this, and other forums, decided to install TenGO as a phone pad alternative.

It installs fine, accepts the registration key, but then you cant actually select it as an input method.

You tap the keyboard symbol, select Tengo, and then nothing happens. The traditional on screen keyboard remains.

You can access the Options under Settings and Input but can never select it as an input method.

Has anyone else had this problem?

This has probably been answered somewhere before (though I couldnt find it!) when you use the supplied wired headset and MS Voice command, when you press and hold the button on the headset, the standard voice speed dial application appears, and not the MS Voice command prompt.

Ive had a look at the Button Assignments applet but cant fathom a way to do it.

Is it possible ?

Had my M3100 for a few weeks now, and generally very happy with it.

Am getting a very random freeze though. When you tap the Start button, the button highlights, but then the unit freezes. You cant do anything with it. Buttons unresponsive.

You can however press and hold the power button, and then the power off dialog will appear and allow you to power down. The screen will rotate when you slide open the keyboard.

I have a 1Gb Kingston card installed, along with Skype, Agile Messenger, Batti, VJC Candela, PPC Profiles, QuickMark and Fit4Cat Hermes Tweaker.

Any ideas?

I experienced similar problems to this with my first handset.

I was using no GPRS at the time.

It had a 12 hr charge (even though it was delivered 80% or more charged)

Didnt even manage til 8pm (from about a 9am startup) before battery low errors were appearing.

I am now on my 3rd handset and this one seems ok. One charge and now battery is lasting 2-3 days.
