I dropped my M3100 onto concrete paving last week, as getting it out of the belt case can be a bit fiddly, adding with the rain, it fell from my hands. I have Orange Care insurance, which covers accidental loss. Unfortunately, Orange (or its insurers) decided that the accident happened due to 'lack of care' on my part, and so the damge would not be covered by the insurer. It wasn't like I threw it to the ground on purpose of anything, was just trying to answer a call. First time Orange Care hasn't come up trumps for me. Fortunately, Orange did replace the phone as a 'good will gesture' for free next day, which was kind of them! Orange Care used to be great, it seems even this is being cut back though. i think its very true to say that orange customer service has gone downhill in my experience as well. i mean dont get me wrong there are a few excellent csv reps out there but orange's csv have in general they fallen short of nothing but mediocre. i have found however that orange have started outsourcing to India and personally with that department i have had a very pleasant experience. the only reason i am with orange is because of the spv m3100! I diagress! back to my "situation", i have chosen to go with HTC's repair service. i sent off the fone today and they have given me a prelimiary quote of £106 all inclusive (i.e VAT, courier, labour and parts) over the fone beforehand. Once they see the fone they will then send me the invoice (which i assume will be the same price) and once its paid the fone should be delivered in 5 working days. there is a minimum charge of £20 to look at it (which only matters if u decide not to have it fixed in the end, otherwise its inclusive in the £106). thats the situation so far. i will keep u guys posted on what happens next. |

Just got off the phone to HTC Europe repair centre and the repair will cost about £108 vat inclusive (inc courier, delivery ect). which is a better offer than orange as they said I would also have to take out their insurance as well. Don't really know whether i should pay for it now or wait out my contract, man I miss my m3100! |

Hi all! Whilst getting into fit of rage because i lost a race on NFS Most Wanted on my PS2 i threw my control pad and it hit my SPV M3100 bang on the screen! (kinda deserved it for taking such a silly game so seriously!). Anyways now im on the hunt to find a replacement screen, tried ebay, no luck, then ploughed through google, still none. so now im going to get into contact with HTC tommorow and see if they can help me. Orange say they'll fix it for £100 + 6ppm insurance thereafter which will basically cost me £208! Anyways wondering if any of you guys would now where to get one at all which would be an absolute life saver! Anyway, will keep you guys posted. Many thanks Imy |
