What's your opinion on the custom Today screen plugins? They look REALLY cool and smooth in the video. Are they locked to Gigabyte devices? |

Have you tried out the custom finger-oriented UI you were talking about during the unboxing? Can you provide screencaps? |

Hey Paul. Nice unboxing. Pretty generic device to be honest but id like to know more about the custom UI. (i kinda wish samsung had bothered to set up a custom UI for the i780...that nice flush touchscreen going to waste...). Also, the link to expansys appears to be broken... |

I have a greek unbranded version of the deviec, and the GPS seems to be working perfectly without the need for GPSGate or portsplitter...I set the GPS device settings (hardware port COM9, programs listen on COM8) and then search for the GPS inside destinator, and its there! Works great! |

Mine doesn't either and I only just realised. That is really annoying... Is there some special kind of USB cable available that will both sync and charge? It seems rather odd that it should fail to charge the phone because the icon on the screen gives the impression it is charging... The Synch and Charge cable that comes with the Greek version of the phone does actually both synch AND charge. Tested it yesterday night, plugging the phone with 60% battery and removing it with the battery at 100% this morning. Maybe you are using a laptop PC that does supply enough juice to the USB ports? |

I got the greek version of the phone. It has a builtin hard reset function which is activated as follows: 1. Power off the phone 2. Hold down the begin call and end call buttons (green & red) 3. Press and hold the power button 4. Once the phone's status LED turns red, RELEASE the power button but KEEP the other 2 pushed 5. You will get a prompt to press the space key to format, or any other key to continue I took the above from a post on XDA Devs, and it WORKS on a greek-localized Samsung i780. It is possible that other versions use different bootloaders, which do not have support for this combo |

I REAAAAAALLY wish this one had WiFi...not all countries have affordable flat-data tarrifs so the Touch Dual is a no go for me. Too bad, considering i LOVED the design (basically the first PPC phone that has a keypad and looks half-normal and not something out of an 80s scifi film). Wasted oportunity if you ask me...Lack of GPS is also a disadvantage, but not nearly as much as the lack of Wireless (which also comes in usefull when you are roaming). |

Bump so that more people can be aware of the issue before they buy the phone (its not that much of a problem but it can be annoying at times). |

QUOTE(pharma79 @ Jan 23 2005, 02:34) there is already a loong topic on this  . its present itself on any file-even the default wmv file( you need to hear through headphones because the loudspeaker is too bad to show it) About multipress i think it can be tested in games i.e by moving the rocker and firing at the same time ? Actually the tsss bug does not appear on all music files. For instance it does not appear on silent files (media files with no sound on them...). |

It would be interesting to know wether the Tss Tss bug still exists in this firmware version. If one of the carriers comes up with a fix then we can be sure its not a hardware fault... |

MSN and Wap work fine on my phone. Ive tried it on Orange PAYG while i was in the UK and on Vodafone paymonthly contract here in Greece (after i set it up properly). Look into your Wap/Internet settings, perhaps something is bogus there. BTW i am not sure, but i dont think you can access MSn using wap over gprs, you have to have internet over gprs enabled on your connection. |

I feel bad that such a relatively small phone company like sagem with a basically unknow windows smartphone releases a WM10 update while Orange customers get nothing. |

I understand your frustration, just saying that there are more pressing issues that orange should look after. I mean, what use is media file synchronization when you cant listen to that media properly in the the first place? |

I also agree that it probably is not a sound problem. After i got my SD card, ive been listening to a lot of music on the phone and i am sure i get the tsss on most (if not all) of my mp3s. |

Windows Media Player would be good, but there are more pressing issues like the tsss bug that are in far more need of attention (and probably a ROM update) than a new Media Player (considering we already got a few of those already). |

I got it too and i am not using any funky plugins or programs. I just work the phone (mp3s, gprs, calls, sms, jawbreaker etc). Then i use taskmanager to close all apps, but the available memory doesnt reach its peak (after a soft reset i got about 9 megs, after working the phone i get around 6.5 or so). |

Ive been thinking of getting this case (i hate the usual part cloth-part see thru plastic cases), and my screenprotector orange had on the phone is wearing out, so i might wana hasten my decision. I got a couple of questions for you. 1) Does the screen seem to have "air bubles" underneath when it comes in contact with the silicon (like when using a plastic case when air gets trapped betwen the cover and the screen)? 2) How do you get the phone in? |
