Thanks for posting this Paul! We just released Textr after a little over a year in development. I really wanted an app like this after using the Treo and it didnt exist, so I sought out to create it! There are a few little things we are working out, but all in all it seems to be working well. We are constantly developing this app, so if you guys find any bugs or have any suggestions or feature requests, be sure to post them. thanks! |

New program called Textr for WM5 & 6 from the site: * Conversation based text messaging organized by who sent you the text message * Photos for your contacts (uses the default contact photo on your device). * New message pop-up notification * Sort conversations * Icons depicting "new" message, "read" and "unread" * Textr can handle an unlimited amount of text messages. If your conversation grows too long, it will auto archive older messages on your phone memory or SD card. * Timestamps in conversations * Turns URLs into hyperlinks * Character/message counter while writing message ![]() ![]() ![]() More pics, details, download, etc.. here: http://www.mykesoft.com/textr/ |

In your oppinion, what is the best non-ms smartphone out there? My friend just got a new flip phone from verizon (not sure the manufacturer) and I was amazed at the size of the screen and the resolution. Not being able to hear people and having people not able to hear me on my new mpx220, it got me wondering what else is out there? I always had the conception that other phones, while having nice screens, had crappy OS's. Is this true?
what do you guys think |

i really want an app to turn that "flash" into a flashlight' that would be awesome. i don't care if it wastes the already crappy batterie life. that flash should be useful for something, cause it's certainly not doing anything as a flash Posted from my SmartPhone! |

i am officially turning speakerphone on every time I make or recieve phone calls. and this is just to hear the person while holding the phone normal, not using it as a speakerphone. its a strain and nearly impossible to hear them without speakerphone on. |

Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition
Version 4.21.1088 (Build 14256.1.1.0) Rom update versions: Operator: 0.180.1003.0 Manufacturer: 0.325.0.0 Microsoft: 4.21.14256.0 Language: 0.120.0.0 File System: 4.21.14256.0 When I make a bunch of calls, text messages, use the internet and listen to some music, the battery life lasts a day. The battery life really isnt that good. In fact its pretty bad compared to similar MS flip phones out. I'm guessing the rom update will fix the battery issue, but theres so many other issues I dont think ill make it till the ROM update.. |

i wonder if it just takes 640x480 pictures and then stretches them to 1024x768 to call it 1.3 mega pixels? is that even allowed? |

the voice recognition software is fantastic. hold down volume up, and a friendly female comes on and says "say a command" you say Voice Dial, she says "say the name or number" you say the name of the contact and she then reads the contact it found using text to speech software and you choose home or mobile and it dials it. Compared to the sony ericssons where you have to program yourself saying each name, this software is great. |

i got the phone and yeah, the in call volume is waaaaay too low. when youre driving in a car and its a little noisey, I cant hear my calls, i have to turn it on speaker phone and put it up to the second notch. also people say I sound really quiet and muffled, so i guess the mic volume is way too low too. my friend got this phone as well, and he has the exact same problems. also, when you play MP3s, the max volume is really low. I'd say its about half the volume of my max setting on the SPVx.. We are going to give motorolla a call and then unfortunately return our phones. I say unfortunately because aside from the volume being way too low, and the mix being way too low, its the best phone, features wise, that i have ever used. its fast, great programs, awesome voice recognition, sexy design, etc...
oh and talking on your mpx220 with someone who has an mpx220 is almost impossible. you cant hear them and they cant hear you. good job moto |

on the mpx220, when you voice dial calls, the program says the name of the contact youre calling using text to speech. so the phones already has the text to speech software, we just gotta find out how to use it for other stuff |

its pretty loud. no complaints there. well it would be sweet if you could speakerphone while the phone is shut. there might be an option somewhere im not sure. but yeah its pretty loud unless the person on the other line is talking like a wussalso the voice calling is the coolest thing ive ever used. you dont have to program your voice into it and it repeats your contacts name with text to speech. so sweet. |

Are there any sound tweaks to make the in call volume louder? The incall volume is way too low, especially when talking to another person using the mpx220. The second speaker phone setting would be a good volume. Theres gotta be some kind of tweak to make it go louder |

I'm so happy with the phone. The last smartphone I had was the SPVx. This one is so much better. I love it. It's sleek, very fast and just fantastic. Very sturdy feeling. |

you can assign a ringtone to a contact without any additional software, just go to the very bottom of the contact info and you can choose a ringtone for them.
i would love to be able to assign a different sound for each sms contact!! |

nice! it looks awesome. looks so much nicer in silver than black. i thought the black looked kinda cheap. especially the glossyness of it. i cant wait to get this phone. hopefully it will be out for at&t wireless (or cingular, as it seems they are one now) |
