USBTerm works on SPVE200, tried it myself today! You have to be in 3 Color Canary mode.

Sorry if you guys already knew about this but to be honest i was quite suprised you could do this out of the box. anyways onto my point! you can record your calls using the video recorder! simply press the camera button on your smartphone whilst in a call and press capture and it will record your call!

EDIT: you have to have 'capture mode' set to 'video'

Mr O, Why cant you provide a backout solution, you must have an execuatble rom that will revert our SPV E200's back to the old rom lying about somewere?

You know that by law (trading standards) if you cannot come to an agreement with Orange regarding the handset you have the right to end your contract?

Cant believe you can't *back-out* a rom upgrade to be honest! Its one of the most essential parts of every release we make at BT! Orange should learn from this and offer everybody a way to revert back.

The only reason i did the upgrade was because i wanted to experiment with bluetooth and bluetooth GPS devices!

However i rang up Orange yesterday after loosing all hope of a way back or a fix and they have fowarded my complaint to "technical support" (read for that monkeys). Hopefully they will agree that my phone is now ready for the toilet and give me a replacement!

We shall see...........

looks like one of the screen shots they had on msmobiles actually! On second thoughts maybe not! however we do know that this ROM exsists they have been upgrading MPX200's to WM2003 at the MDC conference, seen on mpx200.org!

From what i can tell it seems that smaller SD cards such as the default orange 8mb one, dosnt have the lockup problem, well not as bad as the bigger ones! Maybe thats why they missed it during testing?!? Its unacceptbale though, and as for "Giving the user choice" thats complete bull i mean tell me how exactly i can remove this update short of getting a new phone from Orange?

Well an increase in battery life is great if you dont use your SD card much, however i have loads of things on it and am constantly using my SD card, can't stand this!!!!!!

Is there anyway i can load the old rom on? (or maybe the french one dosnt have this problem) quite willing to do anythig to get rid of this!!! ARG!!!!!!

Nice one paul, i really hope they come out with a fix soon! Don't want to have to get a replacement when technically there is nothing wrong with the handset only in software! SD Card problem is extremely annoying though, definately can't live with this especially with the recommendation to always install things on the SD Card!

Im getting this SD Card problem too, try to load smartexplorer and it just hangs, take SD Card out for 10seconds reinsert and it works fine! Can't believe i only got this phone 5 minutes ago and its already pissing me off!

Surely orange should withdraw the update, this is quite a serious problem!

Got a reply from trading standards in regards to your rights! On this subject:

"Your rights lie in the Supply of Goods and Services Act, which implies a term of "satisfactory quality" into your contract.Since the phone was faulty, it was not of satisfactory quality and you have the right to a Like for like replacement. If the company cannot offer you an exact replacement, you may choose to acept an equivalent - you do not have to accept one which does not have the same main features as the original. if you cannot come to such an agreement with the company, you would have the right to cancel the whole contract."

I cant understand how orange think that a nokia can replace a windows smartphone! Lets say for a moment you use software essential to your daily life that is only on a windows smartphone!! i'm sure this is an issue for trading standards and am very tempted to report it to them!

Does anyone know who exactly it is i have to speak to?

Orange suggested that i go to motorola to get the device repaired, a warranty is a warranty at the end of the day no matter who your network operator is!

I have orange care, but i was told that they wouldnt budge! I got offered a nokia 6600 today! Funny how it changes i bet tommrow itll be an SPV E200 no problems, Grrrrrr!

Rang up Motorola and they said they would fix the phone or send me a new one no problems, so as soon as i get my SPV E200 tommrow for 50 quid and get my MPX repaired ill have 2 beautful smartphones in working order!

Im pretty pleased about that, really wanted an SPV E200 for development, but didnt fancy carrying it around!

The thing is trading standards say they must give you a replacement of the same phone or one VERY similar, a 7250i IS NOT SIMILAR TO AN MPX200!

I wonder what that other phone might be??

Hi there,

The back button on my phone's directional pad is faulty and hardly ever works, so i have reported this to orange and they have diagnosed it as a fault. Apparently they still don't have any mpx200s in and offered me a nokia 7250i! No thanks want to keep a windows smartphone thanks, don't know why i got offered a nokia!??

Really love my MPX200 but getting very annoyed with this back button issue! sad.gif

Got a reply on this issue from trading standards:

"Your rights lie in the Supply of Goods and Services Act, which implies a term of "satisfactory quality" into your contract.Since the phone was faulty, it was not of satisfactory quality and you have the right to a Like for like replacement. If the company cannot offer you an exact replacement, you may choose to acept an equivalent - you do not have to accept one which does not have the same main features as the original. if you cannot come to such an agreement with the company, you would have the right to cancel the whole contract."
