sorry for "bumping".....but I still haven't find any solution for this and it's very annoying....

Thanks,

AleM2k.

Yes me too, still not found a fix. The GSM setting sort of seemed to help for a while. The "Save to draft" is the only (annoying) workaround I've found.

Cheers, Rob.

I don't know the exact menu in english:

Settings,
Connections,
SMS Service.

Since I've switched from 'GSM preferred' to 'GSM' it never happened to me again.

Mine was set to GSM Preferred as well. Changed to GSM and we'll see how we got. Doesn't happen very often so guess unless I remember to post back, we won't know if it's fixed.

Thanks, Rob.

Another trick I've found is to save the msg in the draft folder, then go inside this folder and "move" the message to the "Outbox" folder. This will send the message immediately, without the need for restarting the phone.

Thanks, that will help.

Cheers, Rob.

New set-up HTC S710 mobile with WM6, Outlook 2003 talking to Exchange 5.5
with ActiveSync v4.5.

Sync is with the local Outlook, not Exchange.

Only three of the emails in my inbox have sync'd. There are currently 30 in
there. It's configured to:

Download past 2 weeks
Use HTML
Download entire message
No attachments

The three emails don't appear to have any obvious logic as to why they were
sync'd and not the other 27.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Rob.

HTC S710 (Vodofone branded) - sometimes I can't use the SEND button after composing a text message. Just does nothing at all.

Everything else is working. I can save to draft folder, power down and back up and then send but darn annoying.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Rob.

Isn't There any new news or rumors about photon....

They have probably gone back to the drawing board since the release of the iPhone...

I've recently got an HTC S710 running Windows Mobile 6 and the one thing that does annoy me is how slow it is to respond. I've never been completely convinced that a desktop operating system who's architechure requires a much more powerful CPU and loads more memory was the best place to start for a phone operating system.

But then again, Apple have done the same with the iPhone. What's the CPU speed of the iPhone BTW?

The single one thing I miss is copy/cut/paste on WM6.

Thanks, Rob.

"A message has been sent to your phone to configure it, please turn your phone off and back on again".

Actually, it says "The voicemail access number has been sent to your phone" and the text message is from "Pers" and says "Network message, please delete!"

Cheers, Rob.

PS. Voicemail started working 5 mins later.

I'm using an unlocked Vodafone v1415 (rebranded HTC S710) and everytime I ring T-Mobile voicemail, it sends me a text message from PERS. The text message doesn't appear to contain anything useful. The recorded voice message is different as well. It says something along the lines of "A message has been sent to your phone to configure it, please turn your phone off and back on again". I can then get to my voicemail okay so it's not the end of the world. Turning the phone on and off as instructed doesn't help.

Any ideas whether this is a problem with the phone or T-Mobile and can it be fixed? Maybe it's something to do with MWI (message waiting indicator) but that bit is working - I get the recorded message symbol fine. Maybe it's trying to program my keys but press-and-hold 1 works fine - calls 123 fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Rob.

PS. Can't get into voicemail at all right now...

QUOTE(Samsonite @ Aug 6 2007, 17:52) *
when i go out of an evening and the obligatory phone smut/funny/'home' movie swapping session starts, i don't even bother getting my phone out of my pocket. The hassle of getting the device recognised by ANY other brand is tortuous and inconsistent at best. having to make sure the Blutoof visibility is on seems to be the main culprit - it doesn't seem to be the case of switching it on and off at your will, more like the phone will allow one file and then decide to be invisible again!

I tried the off and back on again and it worked once as you say. Managed to transfer a small 20k picture.

I do like this device but Windows Mobile is living up to it's Windows-buggy tag. Actually, more like Windows Millenium in stability. Windows XP isn't that bad. However, I seem to be often popping the battery out of the back because it's crashed. I'm not doing anything particularly special.

It also seems to turn itself off at random, maybe when it's giggled about say in a rucksack. I think I had to reset my razr once. That said, the functionality of this phone is far better and yes, you get "oohhs and ahhhs" when you show them a complete episode of Life on Mars.

I'm looking forward to an upgrade of the O/S...

Cheers, Rob.

I was looking at bluetooth last night for the first time on my Vodafone v1415 which is a re-badged S710. I came to the conclusion that bluetooth is dodgy on this device. I was sat in the pub with four friends, having a transfer session (as you do) and whilst the other Samsung, Motorola and Nokia users could transfer things backwards and forwards quite happily, I really strugged.

Sometimes they just wouldn't see my phone - other times I couldn't see theirs. Other times, it just sat saying "pending..."

I felt very left out sad.gif
