Where do I see the SPL version?

I've got ROM version 1.16.407.1 and RADIO 4.1.13.37 on my device.

The first 3 digits of the ROM version usually also indicates the SPL version.
So in your and also my case it's 1.16.
To know for sure you can restart your S710 in bootloader mode by pressing the camera and power-on button at the same time.

I'm chasing for SPL version 1.04 because I'm pretty sure it allows for relatively easy CID and SIM unlocking. My S710 is CID locked and I want to unlock it w/o paying for it.

In a bengal boys forum thread about the S710 I saw the guy had 1.04 but he upgraded firmware to 1.15. There is a v1.19 in the Dopod firmware.

If you Sign up for the HTC E-Club you can still get to the files.

I've downloaded them all, edited my original post and attached them for those who dont want to sign up smile.gif

Or fetch them straight from a HTC FTP server (Jap):
ftp://210.136.175.150/

Btw: you'll find all sw for all models there smile.gif

Hi Ingvarr,

Your app v1.75 works on my HTC S710 (Vox) smartphone which has a Samsung NAND afaik.

I can mount DSK2: (T_HIDDEN_FAT or so) and DSK3: the 2GB SD card and copy files from both.
I've copied a couple of directories with big files and, though I didn't measure performance, it goes a lot faster than activesync.

I can also mount DSK1: /OneNAND Drive OS which consists of 3 unknown partitions
(these are the same patritions I suppose which I already dumped with pdocread.exe)

I have a couple of questions about DSK1:
- are the SPL and IPL actually on one of the 3 partitions?
- is there some way of retrieving SPL, IPL and Radio by using WM5torage
- is there a Windows application to read each partition sector by sector in some kind of raw binary access mode?

Keep up the good work ! cool.gif

I get the same problem. Now my firewall is stateful, so exposing the device in the DMZ shouldn't, in theory be needed, if it's coded well. After all RTSP works to the laptop. If it needed to be in the DMZ then that would remove its usefulness on operator networks too.

Well, at home I must have it in DMZ in the mobile network it works w/o problems. To avoid DMZ at home and in other mobile networks I will try VPN. I more or less got OpenVPN to work on smartphone (see http://ovpn.sq7ro.net/ovpnforum/viewtopic.php?t=84)

Looks like the one you found on eBay is a first generation unit. The current units are blue and perform better (5Hz update vs. 1Hz)
Although my SIRF Star III device also has 1Hz and I'm perfectly happy with it.

More important is there are apparently pairing probs with Treo 650:

Can you really go wrong with GPS units? I know nothing about them atall!

Yes, there are units with poor performing chipsets (slow, less channels, not so sensitive) and/or BT interfaces which are incompatible so you can't pair the unit with your mobile device.

I don't know how the MediaTek chipset compares with SIRF Star III, but the specs and battery lifetime are impressive.
If you do buy it, please report here how it performs.

Update:
I found a chipset comparison here http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/Sp...ArticleId=19705
Looks like you can't do much wrong buying the i-Blue 737

I can't make this work on my s710. I'm on T-Mo USA. Won't work with Edge and won't work with Wifi. Yes the USB cord is out.

Always get Failed to Find Network error.

Prolly firewall issues. With wifi see if you can configure your router such that your S710 is the "exposed host" or in the DMZ.
I have to do that at home otherwise I get the same error. Perhaps T-Mobile USA is also blocking ports.

I've got a XAiOX Bluetooth Diamond Sirf III 3
Battery easily holds 15 hours. It comes with a car charger with mini-USB which I use to charge my S710
Works excellent with TT6.0.0, GMaps, TrekBuddy, etc

QUOTE(David Sousek @ May 2 2007, 12:09) *
Hello,

can someone confirm that the GPSDash or Efficasoft GPS Utilities is working on Vox?

I've used great GPSDash on my Tornado for geocaching, but the author is not supporting it anymore - I will not be able to register the full version on the new phone. So I've found the new application called Efficasoft GPS Utilities, but in the current version it lacks support for navigating to the waypoint (geocache).

Anyway, is one of them working on Vox? Or do you know other application suitable for geocaching?

Thanks David

I believe it will be a pocket IE registry entry, let me have a look at my v1415.

Thx! Take a look if you also find the reg keys which I described here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...mp;postcount=11
Please also check for keys/values which link .3gp files with StreamingPlayer.exe

Is your version HTC Streaming Media Player V2.10 Build 518.700 ?
Or is it the older version v2.10 build 1025.621 ?

Retro Willy or other Vodafone Vox users: can you find the name of the executable? (just take a look at the props of the shortcut in the start menu)

Thx!

EDIT: found a copy of that app here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...p;postcount=553

Copied the app to my Vox and it works, except my browser still opens WM10 when I click on a video.
Does anyone know how to associate HTC streaming media player with urls of type rtsp:// ??

perhaps your lcd screen and backlight are always on? that would definitely drain your battery

reading your 1st post again, seems something is wrong with either the charger or charger electronics in the phone or a faulty battery
when it's finished charging, the right led lights green
