UPDATE (04/11/2008): XDA-Devs forum member Ebenezer has released a version of Jbed 20080222 3.1 that can be directly installed to a storage card......

Nice one, thanks. It's a shame there's no way of retaining all the existing app settings when updating the JVM.

It depends on what JVM you have installed. If it's the TAO one, then try the version without certificates.

I'm really liking the improvements in 4.1. A big thumbs up.

Having got things working, I thought I'd give a different JVM a try. I installed Jbed Java 3.1 20080222 as mentioned above and what can I say; there's a huge performance increase over the TAO JVM. Opera Mini really flies now smile.gif

I also installed the 'WM6 OperaMiniAsDefaultBrowser - WithSelectionDialog.cab', available >>here<<.

Great post. Thanks.

Just for info, I'm running the TAO JVM (v11.1.7.1036) that's been updated to allow session security (instead of just oneshot), as described >>here<<. I found that I couldn't install any of the signed versions of this latest Opera Mini beta and so installed the unsigned one. With my setup, saving and retrieving pages works fine, with just a single prompt about reading/writing to the device for the session.

If you uninstall the rSoft tweak it should go back to how it was before.

TMail.exe is part of Windows (it's the filename for the Messaging app), but I notice you're using a Touch and this tweak was for Smartphones not PocketPCs (which is what a Touch is).

I'm sure I came across a soft key utility the other day on http://www.pocketpcfreeware.com

Could have been >>KeySwop<< ? Will give it a try myself.

Problems here too. Updated phone to WM6 and now, despite several re-installs, account is still in Inactive state. Plus, 13 SMSs to 001425 2461806 @ 17p each sad.gif

Still no response; still no successful connection to the server; up to 21 SMSs to 001425 2461806 @ 17p each.

There is clearly a problem here and they're taking the p1$$. Uninstalling now......

@Paul - please remove from the front page until they show some commitment to a. respond to emails and b. refund peoples international SMS charges and c. actually fix this problem. Thank you.

The purpose of the app is to prevent applications from starting up a data connection. If you've already got one open then you'll need to close it manually. wink.gif

Just to give an old thread a new lease of life....

I recently upgraded my T-Mob MDA Vario II from WM5 to WM6 and was surprised to find that the problem still exists - the Tao Midlet manager doesn't have the 'Session' security option.

There's a good thread over at xda-developers called 'All the Intent MIDlet Managers 11.x ever released'. I tried to install the latest version (11.1.7.1036) which is actually the same version as on the device, but it failed for security reasons (although the device is app unlocked).

However, the good news is that I was able to extract the appropriate file from the .cab, renamed it (to rofs_target.zip), copied it over the one on my device (\Application Data\Tao\intent) after having made a backup copy of the original, set the 'System' attribute (not sure if that's actually needed, but the original file has it set) et voila, 'session' is back smile.gif

Note that you may need to re-install the apps, to get the 'session' option.

Attached File  rofs_target.zip ( 735.32K ) Number of downloads: 21

So he makes great apps that are unusable because of their memory requirements?!

I scroll right using the D pad but it does takes ages though, as the highlight bounces between the database and tables panes.

Same issue here sad.gif

Can't delete cemail.vol.

Can't find any reference to cemail.vol in the registry so can't edit the registry to cause a new one to be created

Count values were in cemail.vol so I deleted and reboted - still 1 unread!

Also tried this http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/raj/Unread.html but failed on step 3 - none of the fields seem to have any fldrxxxxx

Have you checked the Wireless LAN Power Save Mode and set it to 'Best Performance' instead of 'Best Battery'?
