Ok, I just got my Blackjack II today, and I'm already starting to get a headache. No matter what I try, the messaging app keeps re-downloading my messages from gmail after I delete them from the phone.

Anybody out there have any ideas as to how to solve this issue?

EDIT: Nevermind. I finally got it sorted out.

Thanks so much for this! I recently wiped my Blackjack and forgot to put this back in place when I was reinstalling everything, and I was appalled at how quickly my battery would drain. Luckily, I happened to see a link to this and put it back in, and now my battery actually lasts again.

I was looking at the ATT site today and apparently there was a ROM upgrade that
will increase international roaming capabilities and change some Icons. Is this upgrade
really necessary? I don't want to waste time upgrading if I don't need it for the phone
to function on my network properly.

I don't know if anybody ever answered your question, but here's my take on it. As far as I understand, unless you do a lot of international traveling to one of the affected countries, the only benefit to this upgrade would be some re-branding of some of the icons in your smart menu (AT&T Mall instead of Cingular Mall, for example).

I wouldn't bother with it, personally - just wait for the WM6 Upgrade (If AT&T ever gets off their butts long enough to get the darned thing out!).

I use Hubdog, and have tried BeyondPod. Both are good, but I prefer Hubdog presently. I do like BeyondPod's built-in player. though.

What is the status of Twit!? Is it still being developed? No updates in nearly 5 months... Is there something else like this out there that I haven't heard of?

I use Vieka Wordpad. It's freeware and works great. I use it to edit the XML of my homescreen all the time.

Though I use it primarily for podcasts, Hubdog (http://www.hubdog.com/) can also be used as an RSS reader, and it has a home screen plug-in which will show you which of your feeds have new/unread items. I don't use the home screen plug-in, myself, but it might be what you are looking for.

An even easier method (at least this works on my Samsung Blackjack) is:

Start Menu > Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > My Information Setting

On that screen, enter the desired name where it says, "Device Name."

SBSH Facade has a configurable launcher that you can set up with exactly what you want to have on your homescreen, including apps and even URL's.

Since I don't currently have a car charger for my Blackjack (although I do plan to get one eventually), I often take both my regular battery and my extended battery when I am going to be away from home for an extended period of time. I got sick of always having to take the standard battery cover along, so i set out to find a way to get rid of the need for it. Here's what I did:

I located a piece of foam as thick as the difference between the thickness of the standard and extended batteries and cut it to about the size of the flat part of the standard battery and then used some tape to tape it to the logo side of the standard battery, making sure to wrap the tape all the way back around so that it would be less likely to come undone. Now, it fits snugly into the Blackjack using the extended battery cover and fits into the battery charger as well. So now all I have to take with me when I am going to be away from a charger for an extended period of time is the extra battery (whichever one isn't already in the phone.

Here's hoping that someone out there finds this useful and also hoping someone else hasn't already suggested this.

Well, nobody had any suggestions for me, but it seems to have cleared up on its own, so I can only assume that it must have been something on Hubdog's end of things. Either way, it works now, so I'm happy.

To the best of my knowledge, there is not a free Animated home screen plugin available. The only one I know of is from Madbeetle, and it sells for $4.95. You can get it here.

Anyone else out there having problems with Hubdog? I recently had to reinstall it after performing a hard reset of my phone and erasing my storage card, and now it won't download my channels. I don't mean that it won't refresh them with new content - it won't download them at all. The "My Channels" folder is empty, and won't get my channels even though the "My Hub" page online (http://www.hubdog.com/gui/myhub.aspx) lists all my channels. I sent an email to the folks at Hubdog, but haven't heard back from them yet.

Before getting my Blackjack recently, I had been a long-time Palm user, and one program that I was particularly fond of was Handyshopper. I am wondering if anyone here can suggest a Blackjack-compatible replacement for it.

Despite its name, Handyshopper was much more than a simple shopping list application - I primarily used it as a database, keeping track of things like my DVD and Video Game collections, etc.

I would prefer a freeware solution, but would consider a commercial app as long as the price was reasonable and it had a trial version.

Thanks in advance!

Anyone have any luck getting any of these to work with a Samsung Blackjack and Jabra BT350 Headset? I have tried Butetunes (wouldn't launch), BTAudio Utilities (Puts the phone in BlueTooth mode, but the headset doesn't pick up the sound), and Bluecast (Same result as BTAudio Utilities). Am I just out of luck with this combination?

If you have a Blackjack and have gotten any of these applications to work with it, what headset are you using?

Ok, here's the situation:

I have several reminders in my calendar which have their start & end times the same (such as reminders to take medication). When these reminders go off, the entry in the reminder screen looks something like this:

7:30 AM - 7:30 AM: Take your medication.

Does anyone know of something that can suppress the end time whenever it's the same as the start time, so that the entry in the reminder screen would look more like this:

7:30 AM: Take your medication.

If there's not something like this out there already, any of you smart folks able to program up something that can handle it?

I don't know if it makes any difference, but I am on a Samsung Blackjack and am currently using only the built-in calendar app.

Ok, I am new to the Blackjack and to smartphones in general. Could someone point me in the direction of information on what is changed/improved in WM6?
