No it just zooms in and out in Word and messaging to increase or decrease font sizes, and in Opera and on pictures in HTC Album.

Ahh... I didn't know it did font sizes

Email and messaging don't rotate.

The enhancements are minor, things like the scrolly zoom wheel works in messaging apps, big finger friendly menus... I think that's pretty much it bar access to the mails etc. directly in Touchflo 3D...

P

So the wheel will scroll in some applications?

It beats the i900 in a few specs... plus TouchFLO 3D

And get this instead of the iPhone 2 unless you need the extra storage or bigger (but lower res) screen...

1) coolsmartphone.com has videos of this
2)press the dial key and I believe you can set up speed dials as usual...

...Wait and buy a Raphael... since you want one anyway.. .thinness is the Diamond's only advantage really, aside from cost.

Jeezuz... I'd be SO scared to do this...

I have considered strapping it to my arm but the keyboard opens the wrong way to make it practical lol.

I saw a guy on a bike the other day take a hand off the handlebars and take what looked like a TyTN II OUT OF HIS POCKET! He started using it! With one hand. On a bike! It might have been a N95-8GB but STILL!

Cut the attitude and I might stop bothering you every time something halfway bad happens to me.

back on topic... Yes these devices aren't laptop replacements, but I use my Kaiser in other rooms when watching TV or when i can't be assed booting my laptop up. I often use them side by side because my laptop refuses to multitask. And I haven't downloaded e-mail to my computer in about 3 weeks. It's all on my kaiser.

Apparently that's not an LED, it's the auto backlight sensor mellow.gif
Missed calls and texts show as a snazzy swirly light around the action button biggrin.gif
Unfortunately, though it seems there's no flashing signal for "in service" or bluetooth on mad.gif
Cheers

Wait what? I'm almost CERTAIN that Gears at Coolsmartphone's Touch Diamond review model had a network/bluetooth/GPS/wifi notification in the earpeice. Just the one.

I could be wrong, and that WAS a pre production model, but still... try putting WiFi on and see what happened.

It's not possible, the Kaiser cannot connect over the computer's internet connection. you'd need to stick an Ethernet switch and WiFi access point in behind the desktop. maybe about £30-40... maybe less

You can uninstall it (you have to to change the weather settings) and you can have all 6 tabs if you want them, it doesn;t slow the phone down, and AFAIK "automatic" goes to silent when you're in an appointment from the calender lol

Grrr. Why make it the Touch Pro rather than the Touch Diamond Pro? Touch Pro sounds like a a direct successor to the Touch... which this ISN'T.

But... 288MB RAM!!! *drools*

and the scroll wheel. we seem to be moving in the direction of style over functionality when what we want is both.

Hmm. I'm hoping that the accelerometer will be opened by developers, for both screen orientation and possibly scrolling by tilting the device.

And maybe the zoom wheel can be made into a scroll wheel too

Well if this is out not the Vario 5 should be out next year when im due to upgrade smile.gif

Yeap, me too. The one thing stopping me from hitting my head against the wall is the fact that I will be out of contract just as the Vario V is coming out. Might well go for a 12 month contract then though....

Do NOT buy this device now.

A new device (the Raphael) is about to be announced (the T-Mobile version is announced) and it has the hardware keyboard and the TouchFLO 3D

At the least, wait until it is released and the kaiser's price drops
