Hi all, Thanks for the feedback. I updated to the gonzo 6.1 Rom a few days ago and I love it. Only thing I don't like is how TPC is already installed in the rom and does not work with VOX OC (an app made to change tpc links easily). Is there anyway to uninstall the version of TPC already in the rom? I can't seem to do it using total commmander. Otherwise the 6.1 rom is perfect. |

Well, i flashed the rom to my vox about a week ago, and the difference between 6.0 & 6.1 is amazing theres so many little things that make my vox even mroe usefull but i have these following problems: Windows Media Player - Doesn't play beyond one song. It can manage one song ok, but then it crashes and i have to restart my device HTC Audio Manager - Isnt finding my music. Using the old rom, the A/M searched for music whenever i opened it, now it just doesnt search for music at all. Activesync - Does not want to connect in any way shape or form. This is problematic because im just starting to fully use the full range of programs for helping my life stay in order Battery Monitor - This never seems to show the right status. Sometimes it shows the charging logo when its not chargins, and doesnt when it is. This is very problematic because im overclocking all the time (other wise its too slow) which eats up battery. The music programs are vital to me as i used to use my vox mainly for music, but i have found other software to fill that gap (although it is a trial and it will run out soon, any idea for alternatives?) Also, is there any alternative to using Activesync that will sync with Outlook and OneNote? (and not device center, as i dont have vista) thanks in advance cris I JUST flashed my vox to gonzo's 6.1 rom about two days ago and you're right. It does make an amazing difference. It's breathed new life into my vox. I probably won't need a new phone for at least a year+ now as the vox can do everything except 3G. Anyway I have none of the problems you speek of. (I also use my vox a an mp3 player with bluetooth headphones) Maybe you messed up a step during the flashing. Maybe you should try reflashing it again? Just a suggestion. I'm not really knowledgable on the whole cooked rom scene (thought i bricked my phone several times with gonzo's 6.1). However, I wanted to let you know I have none of the errors you speak of. Good luck. |

Hi all, I'm new to this place so sorry if I have posted in wrong area. I got a new HTC S710 a couple of days ago. Today I received a dual sim card and excitedly put the holder in without reading the instruction or adding any cut up sims just to make sure the holder did fit. Well, it did fit but I couldnt get the thing back out again as something was getting caught. I had to pull it out using tweezers and now the dual sim is all broken (oh well) but now when I put my Virgin sim card in it is saying 'no sim'. Have I shorted something or have I actually broken something inside the sim holder? I dont know what to do. Just thought I would ask for help before I start looking for somewhere to send my phone off to! :-( Don't know about this one. Just make sure when you report your phone broken you do not mention the dual sim. Just say that your phone no longer will read your sim. |

hello, can you tell me how you sorted it out, because I tried with no success Sure. You can connect either with usb or bluetooth. First USB: 1. Go to "Internet Sharing" in your start menu. 2. for "PC connection" Select USB 3. Select the desired Network Connection (i'm assuming the default will be the one you want) 4. Click connect - You will get a Status message saying "please check cable" 5. Plug usb cable into phone and PC 6. FINISHED! - Status should now changed to "connected" ** Internet Sharing will not work if your phone is connected to your PC via active sync. That's why I tell you to click connect then plug in the usb cord. If you plug in your cord first your computer might connect to active sync first if you don't hit connect fast enough. Now Bluetooth: 1. Go to "Internet Sharing" in your start menu. 2. Select Menu -> Bluetooth settings - and make sure your PC is set as a bluetooth device on your phone (if not then pair them up) 3. For PC "PC connection" select Bluetooth 4. Select the desired Network Connection (i'm assuming the default will be the one you want) 5. Click connect 6. Your status will change to "On the PC connect bluetooth PAN" 7. On your PC go to your bluetooth options and connect to your phone PAN network. PAN = Personal Area Network (so look for a menu option mention PAN or Personal Area Network) 8. FINISHED! - Your phone status should change to connected ** This message was sent using my HTC s710 as a PAN. So the directions should be correct. |

I really likes it. It works almost perfect, and is really stable. It really gives the vox a second life. If can try this guide to flash your phone: www.maritime-billeder.dk/vox.html Ok it's stable, but why do you like it? Like whats the advantages over the standard Wm6 rom? I know I could just try it, but I'd much rather have a good reason for flashing a new rom on my vox as it's a little more time consuming to test out then a normal application. |

I was just wondering if I could get the opinion of a few members about Dr. Gonzo's 6.1 rom. How good is it? Really, when compared to the s710's default WM6 rom is there any pros for trying out Gonzo's rom? Thanks |

Got a Sandisk 6Gb card with its own cardreader. I have tried copying my data from phone to cardreader in a USB slot phone to cardreader in another computer across the network cardreader to phone using Wm5torage copied my data to my PC, then PC to cardreader PC to phone using Wm5torage PC to phone using activesync ( that gives a different error; it gets halfway through a large file then says that it can't find it!) I have formatted the card in XP and in the phone I can copy a lot of files across one at a time, but there are certain files that refuse to go. I thought that they might be corrupted, but the application that uses them works fine. I'm at a dead-end now. thanks for any help you can offer. Graham Not sure about this. I've always used a sandisk 6gb SD card with my s710 with no problem. I believe it's even confirmed that the s710 works with 8gb micro cards (even if the HTC doesn't admit it). Is the data you are trying to move protected in anyway? Like files with DRM? Otherwise maybe the card is faulty or there's something else going on with your vox that you're not aware of. |

Yes. But i'm sure it's rather annoying to alot of people to have to pop out their SD every time. AND, if you are using the registry hack so that your SD card may be used for email storage then you really don't want to have your SD card out during startup. (if you do you'll wind up with two storage card folders and things could potentially get messy) |

Hi guys. I'm just posting this message here because I'm not sure if the information has been spread around on the internet enough. Recently I have been recieving the dreaded reboot loop on my htc vox and I'm pretty sure I have found a solution that will work for most htc s710 users here. the solution was found on modaco, but this information is not listed in this forum at all. (so someone with a vox may not find it) Here is a quote from "pts" on another forum here at modaco: QUOTE("pts") "I had a similar problem on my S710 and couldn’t locate the file omap850_sdhc_mux.dll in windows directory for the renaming solution. But then I found another solution from one MS forum. Change the ‘Home Screen’ layout to Windows Simple, colour scheme & background image to default. Then it boots OK, consistently. (If the SD recognized and being mounted as ‘Storage Card2’ then rename the folder ‘Storage Card’ to something else and re-boot). In that discussion thread there was some mention of the Home Screen loading process being initiated prior to the SDHC card driver being loaded. In such case, if there are any references to the Storage Card locations during the Home Screen flash process (actually, I had installed few apps on the SD that displays contents on the Home Screen), then it gets into such boot loops." I've tested this solution. (changing my homescreen to windows simple (or basic)) And it works for me. If you find out that your homescreen is the problem remember to check what plugins your current favorite homescreen uses. Many of the interesting ones use the smartmonitor, facade, or phone alarm plugins. Just make sure that none of your plugins are installed on your SD card and this should resolve the issue. Even if you're pretty sure they're saved to your device it won't hurt to uninstall them (after changing your homescreen to simple) then reinstall them on your device. You'll know if this solution has worked the next time you have loaded your good homescreen and rebooted. The homescreen that I like uses facade and smartmonitor. It seems that smart monitor was the culprit as after I uninstalled the plugin, then reinstalled it on my device I stopped receiving the reboot loop with my homescreen. I also posted the exact same thing at a htc wiki located here http://www.htcwiki.com/thread/770869/WM6+s...card+inserted... Ok guys. Hope that helps someone. |

Hi everyone. ?I wanted to know if it's possible to use the htc s710 as a wireless (or even wired) modem for a labtop. I remember my old Sony Ericson w300i could connect to my labtop through bluetooth and then my notebook could grab an internet connection through my phone. Is that possible with the htc s710 in any way? Thanks for any help in advanced. |

These instruction have been floating around for quite a while. I did it shortly after I got my Moto Q9h, and it's worked like a charm ever since. MOVING E-MAIL AND ATTACHMENTS TO STORAGE CARD: 1. Using a file manager, create the following folders on your Storage Card: \MAPI \MAPI\ATTACHMENTS You can actually name them whatever you want. I use "Inbox" instead of MAPI. 2. Now browse to \Windows\Messaging (SmartPhone) or \Windows\MAPI (PocketPC) If you want to save all of your existing mail, move everything in this directory to the new ones on your Storage Card. 3. Using a registry editor, navigate to the following: [ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Inbox\Settings ] Then create the following STRING VALUES: Name: AttachPath String: \Storage Card\MAPI\Attachments (or whatever name you used) Name: PropertyPath String: \Storage Card\MAPI (or whatever name you used) 4. Reboot your phone. THANK YOU! This works great with my phone. Now I can actually use email on my phone without worrying about space. So far no problems with boot up and my SD card not being fast enough. (6gb SD from sandisk (class 4)) |

ok. How do you store attachments at least on the SD card? People keep saying you can, but they never say how to do it. I've looked through the menus of my vox and have not found the "store attachements on SD card" option either. Thanks for help, real |

Hi all, I'm trying to get the outlook on my vox to store email messages, and maybe text messages, on my micro SD card instead of the internal memory. There really just is not enough internal memory to use imap with outlook on my phone. Does anyone know how to accomplish this? I know it can be done because I found an older forum post referring to the process. located here for reference: http://www.modaco.com/content/HTC-Vox-Vox-...rage-Card-S710/ However, I'm not sure exactly what they're doing. Does anyone mind explaining the whole process for me? Thanks for any help, real |

Hi everyone, Recently I saw my friends brand new T-mobile Shadow (Htc Juno/Shadow) and although I still think the vox is sexier I do have to admit that I love the homescreen on the shadow. I just wanted to know if any of our talented homescreen designers like Looby or Dak Attack could take a stab at making a homescreen like the one featured on the T-mobile shadow. Youtube video of interface/etc: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Twsr1x_4nNU (skip to the like last 5 minutes) It would be great if the homescreen worked and still looked good vertical and horizontal. If anyone knows of a way to get the homescreen on a vox already please let me know. Thanks in advanced for any help. Later. |

Well. As I did not use 'Facade', I removed this plugin definitly. And replaced it by the 'SmartMonitor'. Then, mine is working very well even with the SD card inside. I did not have any problem with the reboot. Thanks for the transfer of this beautiful plugin on the HTC Vox. That said, here is my plugin with 'Smartmonitor' and others. [attachment=23253:HTC_001.png] [attachment=23254:HTC_002.png] PS: Some corrections has been done. I removed the VOIP plugin. And SmartMonitor is now in english. This is the new file. [attachment=23269:Home_and...es_files.rar] 1- First, install the Blue Looby Theme. 2- Then install the SmartMonitor plugin. You will find it HERE 3- Extract the rar and put all the files in the right folder. That's all. Thanks. Hi Moblogtek, I'm very interested in your version of Looby's theme cause it uses a free plugin instead of facade. (And I love seeing the memory% etc) I was wondering if you could change the theme to have the SD card storage % in place of the "signal" %. (Because by default you get the standard signal bar monitor at the top of your theme anyway) Also, when you go horizontal with the vox you have an extra box unused. You could put the signal % there if you wanted couldn't you? Sorry just a slight suggestion. |
