Dude I wish I could wait longer but I can't it depends if you need the qwerty keyboard or not. i find the qwerty keyboard on imate 9502 pretty handy to write emails or reply to posts on forums, it much faster then using the onscreen keyboard with stylus. if u need keyboard, get 9502 dont need keyboard, get diamond. |

Netnerd! I'm sorry but if possible, could you please give me some feedbacks on these issues? 1-While working with your 9502, did you happen to have any problem with the seemingly low amount of RAM? 2-How do you find the speaker quality -while listening to a music? 3-Have you tested some games on it? I'm just wondering how the integrated GPU could perform on 9502. Especially coming from S60, I'm expecting a completely different experience on gaming. Am I right? 4-Does it make sense to also consider Toshiba Portégé G910 versus this model as an alternative? Thank you so much for your help 1. i removed all the junks from windows\startup\ folder, i have 39.5MB free ram, that is good enought 2. sorry, i dont listen to music on it 3. dont like to play games, i rather surf the internet! 4. Toshiba Portege G910 looks hot! but it only got 2100mzh 3.5G, no USA 3.5G! i'm not interested! also if u can wait, get Sony X1 instead! X1 is smaller, thiner, and lighter! |

WM's lack of support for scalable fonts, and the physical limits of how small text can before it becomes a strain to read. u do know u can make the texts bigger in email and internet, right? believe me, i know what i wanted! 3" wvga 800x480! i dont need to cut paper or anything to see how 3" looks. i currently using 2.8" vga, and very happy with it! it just depends on what u do with the phone, not everybody play games or play video on it! i mostly using it for phone calls, email, texts, internet, and gps. i also have a sony 4.5" umpc running on 1000x600 resolution! are u going to complain about that too? haha or u know how many blackberry been sold? are u going to complain about unable to play games, or video on it also? everybody have different need! |

That's why many people who want high res have tried the Etens, 9502, G900/910 and the like, and gone back to the E90 (including me). There's little point in cramming a web page or terminal screen onto a tiny display unless you can read it comfortably - and for that, you still can't beat the Nokia. Like the Actress said to the Bishop, the extra inch makes all the difference. isnt E90 got a 800x352 screen? maybe u have bad eyes, i still perfer 800x480 instead! seeing more is better! less scrolling! i'm happy with windows mobiles and have no plan to switch to S60 |

So, your only concerns with 9502 are the buttons (external ones), right? But other than a bigger screen and higher resolution, is there anything else seen as a drawback in your current Ultimate, being resolved in your future X1? i feel the buttons in 9502 is all in the wrong places! sometime u have to look to tell which button is which. also u cant tell which is top or botton of the phone just by holding it. these are just minor complains, i can live with it. 9502 only support up to 2G microSD, i can live with this since i really dont need that many porno on the microSD. haha ya. i will be upgrading to sony X1 for the 3" 800x480 compare to 2.8" 640x480. and going by spec, X1 is even smaller and lighter then 9502! but X1 wont be out atleast for another 4 months? |

Finally, please note again that I have nothing against the 9502 myself. I just consider it a bit too expensive (500 UK pounds? That's twice the price of the N95 and the iPAQ 210...) for what it offers. If one would be thrown at me for, say, 100 pounds, I'd certainly accept it (albeit I'm not exactly sure I'd retire my current handsets and switch to the 9502.) where are u going to accept the facts the MOST PEOPLE dont want/like to carry 2 device, pda and cellphone?? if some1 want to buy a car, are u going to recommend them to get a boat instead? haha |

not sure what spam you are referring too the link to smart-mobile-gadgets on the the first page of this thread i know everybody is just trying to bring foods to table, but when u do a google on Imate 9502, it' cheaper elsewhere and cheaper overnight delivery too. it' better to have a sale with less profits, then no sales? |

Use a non-slippery leather case - it'll pretty much guarantee it won't fell out. Or, never bend over but crouch / sit on your heels to pick up something. (If you don't get what I mean, let me know and I try to explain it in another way. My native tongue isn't English and, therefore, you may have a hard time understanding what I write.) is this still the year 1999? should i also carry a separate bluetooth gps, separate mp3 player, and separate digital camera where ever i go? |

Note that I have nothing against i-mate - except for its very high price. Should it be sold at, say, $500, I wouldn't be recommending a separate solution (or even the Kaiser) instead. (This was, incidentally, my verdict too in my MWC i-mate report pasted in above.) At $800-900, however, I consider it pretty bad value for money - this is why I've came here to explain you can have far better, far more eye-friendly options for approximately the same amount of money. again, u get what u pay for! there are shoes and clothes that costs over 100$ each, where u can get something similar for far less prices at walmart! a few years ago, when i was at LasVegas, i have a steak and my gf has a smoked salmon, total costs 80 buk!, where i can get the something and tastes just as good as Denny's for less then 20 dollars! |

it sure is lots to carry! u carry 4" pda in shirt pocket, cellphone in jean pocket, keys in jean pocket, and wallet in jean pocket! if u bend over to pick up something or in a hurry and need to run, that pda in your shirt pocket will pop out and drops to the ground! |

NB: I don't and wouldn't recommend the 69xx. I'm only recommending either of the 4" HP VGA Pocket PC's because of their excellent screen quality AND size. I simply don't see much point in having a 2.8" VGA screen. You won't be able to run Opera Mini on it (unless you use TAO, where you can hack the character size to be much bigger). You are pretty much unlikely to be able to make use of the high-resolution mode of IEM (or, for that matter, the default charsize of Opera Mobile). You won't be able to read PDF files without reflowing (which rarely works with, say, science books), utilizing the 640-wide screen. All this is possible with a 4" screen. maybe u have bad eyesights, it doesnt mean everybody have bad eyesight! i have no problems with 2.8" VGA. if it' possible on 4" VGA, it' possible on 2.8" VGA, both display the same amount of infos on screen, 640x480. y i dont get HTC tytn? because it' QVGA junk! i want to see more info/stuffs on screen! it' so much easier to surf webs or remote desktop on VGA compare to QVGA. do yourself a favor, set your pc monitor to the lowest resolution, and see how difficult to navigate web pages! |

it' all about convenience these days! i used to carry Dell X50v with 3.7" VGA and plain regular nokia cellphone! everytime i want to check emails or surf internet, i have to turn on bluetooth on the nokia! and when i finish checking emails or internet, i have to turn off bluetooth again on the nokia! i also have a bluetooth gps, when i want to use gps. i have to turn on pda and turn on bluetooth gps! now with Imate 9502, i can do all those with just carrying 1 device! |

I fear the 9502 will have the same future as the O2 XDA Flame or the Toshi G900 - read: no real bugfixes, upgrades etc.). maybe manufactures dont bother to support O2 XDA flame or Toshi G900 cus it only got 2100mzh 3G, no USA 3G! it doesnt sell much cus only countries with 2100mzh 3G will buy it. |

The hx4700 (210) + N95 (N82; or the E51 if you don't need that good a camera) combo is just far more powerful and versatile than the 9502 and still costs less. The only downside is the need fo carrying two devices instead of one and the lack of EDR with the Nokia phones, which results in an in-practice maximal Internet download speed of about 72 kbyte/s. Otherwise, the combo works just great. The 9502 is just too overpriced for what it's offering - this is my point. my point is i want something that fits in my jean pocket! i willing to get hx4700 + N95 if u willing to carry the purse everywhere i go! |

The reason I recommend the iPAQ 210 (or the hx4700) that much is mostly because their price, which is (at most) half of the 9502 (particularly if you get the hx4700 off eBay for, say, $200). u get what u pay for! a mercedes on average cost 80000$, are u going tell people to stay away from mercedes and get a japanese or american car that costs less than 25000? this message was created on imate 9502, I have no problems with the keyboard, it' perfect for me. my ONLY complain about 9502 is the external button, power button at the corner, it' much easier to press if it in the middle/center. ok, wireless button, or note, camera button, they too close together; sometime I have to look to make sure I got the right button. |
