Vodafone are reporting that the v1615 is out of stock, with a new version being released in early June. Fits in with the news that the new HTC ROM should be available this month. http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2006 |

Don't forget that any date you'll hear is likely to be just the SE release date. If you want to get it on a contract you'll have to wait for the networks to complete their tests, which can sometimes take months. |

This is obviously because Voda grab the SMTP traffic and re-route it to their own servers. Well I've just connected to an smtp server via my vodafone usb modem and tried sending an email using raw commands so I could see if vodafone were messing with the data. The traffic wasn't redirected to any vodafone smtp servers, the auth was successful, and the email was sent. I'll give it a try with my phone sim in a minute, just in case data sims are routed differently to phone sims. Edit: same thing with a phone sim. Works perfectly. |

Which APN are you using, internet or wap.vodafone.co.uk (or pp.vodafone.co.uk if you're on PAYT)? I can't imagine internet would screw with things, but wap.vodafone.co.uk could well do all kinds of strange stuff (I avoid it wherever possible). |

All vodafone handsets come unlocked these days, and if you do happen to have an older one that is locked you can get the unlock code for free if you're on a contract. |

I'm pretty sure it should work, but if you ask over at vodafone's forum there will be some staff there that will be able to let you know for certain. |

If you want to use it on voda, then why not just get the voda version (v1615)?. They're already sim unlocked (everything from vodafone is these days) so you should be able to use it with o2 out of the box. |

Pro lets you use APs to get your position if you don't have GPS, but you can still log APs with the free version. |

The soft key setting is in that location for me (v1615 here too), but if you still can't find it try installing AE Button Plus instead. |

It's a very good way to discover new artists. Based on what music you listen to it will start you give you very accurate recommendations for artists that you'd never come across otherwise. Personally I never bother with the radio bit but just check my recommendations every now and again and play some of the tracks from those artists to see what I think of them. I've found some great new music over the last couple of years, but since I've started listening to most of my music on mobile devices I haven't scrobbled for a while now and I could do with finding something new. It's just a pity it doesn't work with the HTC audio manager yet. |

I use AE Button Plus to set the two soft keys to work on long press only and ignore a normal short press. Only problem with this is that the soft keys on the front of the device are set to long press too, but I'd rather have that than be sending half complete emails all the time. |
