I want to use my BJII in my car to output its audio to my car stereo. I'd also like to power the phone at the same time.

Is there any kind of plug that will allow this?

Also, are there any other music player .cab's out that to use instead of wmp?

OK I have a laptop with the latest toshiba bluetooth stack (not using widcomm or windows drivers). When I paired, the phone saw the stereo headset profile on the laptop and I checked the box.

Now the little headset icon is active on the phones top bar, but when I play anything (mp3 or mid) in WMP I hear nothing on my laptop. All the volumes are alll the way up but I hear nothing. I do hear other windows things though.

But, my over the ear bluetooth headphone/mic still works, but not the stereo laptop. Is there somewhere else I am supposed to set something?

Also, would it be possible to use my laptop itself in place of the over the ear bluetooth headset/mic?

Are there any bjii wm6 roms out there? If not, would it be possible for me to factory dedault my bjii, then get all my hacks on it, then create a ROM of it that I can use to restore it later? Or am I understanding incorrectly the concept of what a ROM is?

I'm still a newbie to my Blackjack handheld.
Can somebody clarify me that Blackjack II does not have a Build-in SiRF III GPS receiver?
I read the article from here:
http://www.intomobile.com/2007/11/26/unloc...of-telenav.html

First I thought my device has a GPS recievier, but when I was talking to Samsung Tech support level III (for my ActiveSyn connection issue). I asked him about this and he said there is no GPS hardware embeded inside the Blackjack phone. You will need to get an external GPS receiver to work with the map software in your phone.

So if that's the case, Paul's hack article on http://www.modaco.com/content/Smartphone-S...-GPS-ACTIVATED/
Would be just be the "soft" fixed at the API level to open up the COM port for communicating with an external GPS device?

yes the i617 BJ-II does have GPS built in. it does take about 10 minutes or so to sync to a satellite though. get google maps and it will work

Use Sprite Backup for backing up, it's great!

Ill pass since its $30. I miss the PalmOS how it had everything you need and you didnt get nickel and dimed to death....

Anyhow I got cloudyfa's 0802 version installed. But When I run any java app, theres this odd problem of the bottom of the screen still has old data in it from a previous screen. How do we fix that? Also, jbed seems to have registered itself in WM6 as the default java handler. In the event I want to change it back, where is that configured in WM6?

slightly dodgy, eh? is it possible to completely copy over EVERYTHING in my BJII to my PC for the purposes of restoring it in the event I ever have to do a hard reset?

'JBED 0802' is the best java in WM6.It can run most of the java game in Nokia

How do I an an end user go about getting jbed 0802 on my BJII? Will this jbed allow me to disable java from ALWAYS asking me for permission to access the internet? Will is also allow me to run a specific instance of java wrapped around a java app, like gmail? Can I have two different instances of this jvm running different java apps at the same time?

You're right. Its starting automatically. Thanks for the pointers. Im going to try to see if I can get omapclock to start automatically and run at 276MHz. I need to see how to pass command line arguments to it when it runs. Thanks for the help.

Well I figured that out. Make a .lnk in \windows\startup\ called OmapClock.lnk and use the following line:

44#"\My Documents\OmapClock.exe" -clock 276

The only think is that Im not sure about that 44# stuff. I used 44 because the most recent .lnk was voicecommand and it had 43# so I just used 44#. Anyways, after reboot I was set at 276MHz.

Thanks everyone.

On my Cing 3125, it automatically set itself up to run on startup. But if your's isn't, check that there is a "Voice Command.lnk" in your /windows/startup folder. If not, make a txt file, and make the contents this:
CODE
56#"\Program Files\Voice Command\VoiceCmd.exe"

Change the directory according to where you have it installed. Save the file as "Voice Command.lnk" in your /windows/startup folder. Ensure that "hide file extensions for known file types" is not enabled on your file browser as it will save it will still be a text file instead of a .lnk (shortcut) file. Then reboot and you should be good.

QUOTE(shadamehr @ Dec 19 2007, 23:23) *
Generally works fine for me, on T-Mobile, though certain days it has issues.

Finds me to within 1700 metres using cell location, with "REAL GPS" turned off in the menu, and my local tower is a 3G mast - albeit, it's only yards away from me.

But the actual 'dot' of where it thinks I am, based on Cell Tower location, not real GPS, is almost perfect most times - usually guessing the very street I live in.

SOME days however, it just won't work at all.

So maybe this is what the OP is seeing?

almost, but not quite. From my experience, "My Location" NEVER works for cell-assisted location when using 3G. Only in standard GPRS/EDGE.

No biggie, I was just wondering if anyone else had the same experience.

Not working for me so far.

OK I just figured out that its working. Must have been the reboot I did. Now, as long as voice command is running in the background, a press of the bluetooth headset button activates voice command using the bluetooth headsets mic. Works like a champ!

Now I just wish I could get voice command to automatically run after a reboot. That, along with a few other apps. Is this possible?

Do we need to redo the app unlock after each reboot? If so is there a way to automate it?

I use the gmail java app for my WM6 blackjackII and its really annoying how java is ALWAYS asking me if it can use the network. How can I make it NEVER ask me again? (not even when I open the app when it has been completely closed)

Also, does WM6 allow for java shortcuts? Like say I want to have an icon on my homescreen that is telling a java app to run? My goal is to not have to go into the java menu and choose a program from there.

For my BJ-II, the MyLocation feature in Google Maps only works for me if I am in a GPRS/EDGE network. I can never get mylocation to work for me if I am on a UMTS/HSDPA tower. Does anyone else see this?

It seems like Google Maps *should* be able to use the MyLocation feature combined with the cell tower time to determine which satellites should be overhead at that particular location/time. This should allow for a less than 30 second GPS signal lock in 3D. How could we go about proposing this idea to google?

Is it like this for everyone? It takes almost 7 minutes for my BJ-II to get a position lock. I have a bluetooth GPS puck and its always within 3 minutes from a cold start.

LOL! thats pretty funny... you've never used a Ipod scroll wheel? Its not that complex to figure out lol

never used an ipod I always just had a cheap music player. thats why i got the BJII cause its supposed to be a decent music player + phone. My big problem is that my fingertips are really too dry to work the scroll wheel effectively. I just cant get good traction on it. First of all its soo smooth and flush that I couldnt tell that it rotated in the beginniner Then reading the manual and it telling me to spin it, I tried and just couldnt get it to work right b/c my fingertips just cant grip it enough to rotate very well. Thats why I was so confused. I need to put a tiny sticker or something in it that will give me better traction.

Is there anyway to increase the sensitivity of the scroll function?

Assuming you have a Blackjack II, your D-Pad should look like a wheel, without any directions really 'marked' on it. Put your thumb at the top of the D-Pad and physically rotate it to where you would press the D-Pad to go right. It should spin as you do this, and scroll whatever menu you're in down.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=qym3obR1MXg

Look at about 15 seconds in here to see what I'm talking about.

Wow that scroll deal is pretty slick. it *does* rotate after all. It was so shiny and flush that I couldnt tell that it rotated. My attempts as this consisted of (like I said) actually pressing the up/right/down/left in quick succession... Im such a dumba**.

Thanks for straightening me out. This scroll wheel is slick.

OK great, smarttoolkit, ceregeditor, and facade are what I need to look at next. I also hadnt seen the i607 wiki yet. Thanks a lot for all the pointers....

But I still dont "get" the d-pad though. The quick start guide or the users manual dont say anything about ta d-pad. Mine doesnt seem to "spin" at all. I guess by "spin", you mean like up, right, down, left, up, etc... would be "spinning clockwise", and up, left, down, right, up, etc would be "spinning counterclockwise"? If so that doesnt seem to be getting me anywhere, regardless of what program I run while spinning.
