A co-worker has the "htc titan verizon xv 6800" and just got the WM 6.1 upgrade. So updates are out there...

I am waiting on this too. I have a Treo 750 as well, for which I found a nice 6.1 ROM on xda developers.
Can't wait for the BJ2 rom.
Engadget had an article about an unofficial BJ (not 2) WM6.1 rom, so I am sure this will be happening as well.

FYI April 1 is supposed to be the original release for WM6.1 (unless it is a April Fools joke by MS!)

TomTom 5 does work on BJII, so I have read on other forums.. Did not try it for myself as of yet though..

tomtom 5 had a smartphone client. However, TomTom 6 is PPC only (touchscreen).
I installed TT6 and played with virtual cursors to emulate this but could not get it to work.
Switched to Garmin Mobile XT and it works OK for me.

Does anyone know of a program to complete a full backup of the blackjack?

With this new corporate email program if for some reason the email is entered incorrectly too many times, the phone is formatted & everything is erased.

It would be great to backup programs, documents, pictures, messages, etc.
I tried spbbackup, but when I launch it, it says one or more of its components cannot be found.

I use Sprite Backup and like it a lot.

Yep, I wouldn't go downloading anything before you check.

http://www.wireless.att.com/businesscenter...-comp-table.jsp

Just looking at this, they will charge you $5/MB over their limit if you have a PDA plan, so I can only imagine the cost if you aren't on any kind of data plan at all :S

no solution on ATT that I know of.
Tmobile has a great 5.99 deal, where you can setup proxies and get the whole internet, IM, email everything. The only limit i know on that is that some ports are not open and downloads of >1 mb are not allowed. I wish they had something cheap like that for ATT. The cheapest i believe is their MediaNet plan - its like 20 bucks and month.

Howdy!

I just recieved my bluetooth dongle, and 4gb microsd card. I have a bluetooth connection established with the device & my pc.
Here are a few of the issues...
1. Windows Mobile Device Center says the device is not connected(same problem via USB(Can't figure it out)).
2. I can send files, pictures, etc TO the device. But I cannot send anything TO the PC. The phone shows the PC in the beam to application, but when I hit beam, it says failed.(not sure if there is a dialog box that I have to accept within a certain amount of time. Because I haven't seen anything yet...)
3. I can set an Incoming port via the PC for the device. But I cannot configure an outgoing port on the PC or the Device.
-On the device it is greyed out
-On the PC, the device was found as some weird address name, and now it won't even find it...

If no one has a solution for the WMDC, are there other programs out there that I could use?
-I have windows vista x32

I'd appreciate your suggestion. Thanks!

**********Apparently you have to manually go into bluetooth devices on the PC and hit Receive files for the transmission to complete...think I got that solved

Archy,
I have the same issue. I have a HP Pavilion with buit in BT. I have Vista Enterprise SP1 installed on it and when i try to receive a file from Phone to PC, it fails!
If someone has a solution, please let us know. It is driving me crazy.

almost, but not quite. From my experience, "My Location" NEVER works for cell-assisted location when using 3G. Only in standard GPRS/EDGE.

No biggie, I was just wondering if anyone else had the same experience.

I have the same experience here in Houston. Does not work when my phone shows 3G. Only when it switches to EDGE in some regions, does it show me My Location (using cell towers, with GPS turned off). I wish Google will fix this.

In 3G, when it says location is temporarily unavailable, I can still go to Menu->Help->About and scroll to the bottom. There, it gives the Cell tower info (next to a label called myL) so its got to be a minor fix to read this info in to the map - cmon Google, you can do it! biggrin.gif

bigneeker,
I agree its a pain to use 3 buttons to unlock - here's something that makes it easier - its still 3 buttons, but you do not need to use the Power button to begin the unlocking process. You can also start by pressing the 1 or 9 key to wake the device
so instead of Power (which is on top), Unlock and then *, you can now do 1, Unlock and * - still 3 buttons, but they are closer to each other.
Hope that helps

is there any way to get rid of pressing the power button to unlocked the device?

because of that extra button press, it requires 3 button presses to unlock the device, i think thats a little excessive.

on all other smartphones, the "end" key locks and also brings up the unlock screen which then requires the "*" key which is a two-step procedure and not a 3-step procedure.

any help would be appreciated
