lol ... this post made me chuckle.

Ebay : "For Sale one TyTN II ... hardly used, still with box"

Obviously you wouldn't get as much selling it without the accessories, but after paying someone for the box and bits, then would there be and difference??

Note to anyone selling their box: I'd advise you remove the white sticker on the side of box with the handset's details on it. From memory, it has the IMEI of the handset on there, and you don't quite know where it will end up once it's been sold.

well i think without the box i would loose a fair slice of the pie, i just sold my friends one for him for £320 including postage that was boxed with all accesories, so im hoping to pick up a box and sell mine.

cheers.

good advice! Any idea where I can find it online? Don't think Orange ever sent me any T&Cs sad.gif

Never mind, found it here:

http://www1.orange.co.uk/mobileterms/orange_care_terms.pdf

Key para here:

Still very vague - "failure to take reasonable care" - will they say I wasn't careful enough clipping it to my belt? sad.gif

Interesting to note that I'm not covered for Acts of Terrorism, War, Radioactive contamination, or Sonic Bangs! biggrin.gif

hi if i was you i would say " i dropped it as i was getting into my car" something like that, its not far from the truth, and should be a simple enough claim. p.s i belive it does state in the terms that all defects should be reported within 24 hours of discovery (something like that from mermory) so make sure when u claim say it happend on that day or the day before, not last week etc.

insurance companies always try and find a way not to pay out, so just make sure your read the policy carefully before claiming.

Well it happened finally sad.gif

My pristine TyTN II which I take great of sad.gif

I was swapping the cars round and as I jumped into one felt the case tug on my belt.

Anyway, moved the car and walked ack onto the drive to see phone in case on drive, oviously having fallen out of the car. then I noticed it was dusty - I must have reversed over it :-O

Amazingly it's in one piece and still looks pristine ut the screen is smashed and the b key isn't working too well.

Fortunately I have orange care, ut will they pay out? have heard worrying stories. it was in the case that comes with it, if the damn thing had a proper belt loop it would have been ok..

also if they do say yes, wil it e a replacement or repair? can do without losing it for weeks sad.gif

hi yes orange care will replace/repair your handset, and they do state in there policy that replacements will be made withing 24 hours or reporting the claim, but if they decide to repair it it may take slightly longer, excess is just £15.

so you might be without your device for a few days. : (

but look on the bright side, atleast it will be replaced repaired.

Ok I got mine on Friday and I can't get it to go into 'Wireless Stereo' mode, only 'Hands-Free'.

I'm a complete newbie to Bluetooth Headsets so I need a bit of help! rolleyes.gif I have paired it with my iPaq 614c and I do get audio (but as it's in Hands free mode, only mono and low quality). Any ideas??

Hi i had the same problem when i first got my set, now this is gonna sound like im taking the michael, but it honestly works, found it on another site. this is what you do....

1) delete any pairings on the phone.
2) switch of headset
3) plug the charge into the mains
4) put the charge into the headset 3 times for 5 seconds each.
5) Recreate the pairing with the phone.

and magically you will now see to options handsfree and wireless.

HTH.

Hi all,

I took receipt this morning of this item (Ebay listing item - 300101756105), purchased from an ebay seller in Hong Kong:

I'm connecting it to the mini-USB port on my TyTN II using a mini-USB to 3.5mm headphone adapter jack (which works without any interference if I use this with headphones); it works - and for £5.98, I can't really complain - but there is an annoying background whine when I use this with my car radio. huh.gif

I've tried moving the device and phone away from the radio or indeed anything that might cause interference - but even sat in the boot, I get an annoying background noise.

I wasn't expecting much for less than a tenner - but since this doesn't quite have the quality I was looking for, can anybody recommend a good alternative that allows the phones audio to be sent via FM to my car radio but doesn't have any hums, whines or crackles to get in the way of my music?

Hi, yes like the person below said it could be a earth/ground problem but if it is you should be getting a whining sound even without using this device and just listening to music normally. anyway if you click on my username and view my post's you will see one for a bluetooth device (Jabra bt320) i suggest you take a look as it could be just what your looking for, my friend uses it in his van and he does not get any whining noises, i also use it to stream music to my home cinema amplifier and i dont get any whinning.

cheers.

All,

not sure this is the right place for this, but wondered if you fine fellows could help... basically a mate of mine wants to sell his Kaiser, but it's really quite scratched.

It has superficial damage to the case, and a small crack on the camera lense. My question is two fold:

1) is there any way of replacing the case? (the screen is fine, as it's had a screen protector fitted from day 1)

2) if not, any ideas what sort of price I should pitch it at on Ebay / whatever? I mean, what do you condider a fair price. It's working perfectly.. just not terribly pretty smile.gif

thanks chaps

Hi, as you may know already you can get a HTC TYTN II off ebay for around £300,

a brand new housing for the TYTN II is also available on ebay (see link below) which is about £46 delivered, quite expensive, also will be quite a nightmare to fit.

so based on that, i would say offer your mate £200 for his TYTN II. replace the body, and you got a mint condition TYTN II for £246.

Im sure some of you already know about this deal but if not check it out,

Orange is doing the Jabra BT320 stereo bluetooth headset for only £9.95 biggrin.gif

i just got mine today,

heres a mini review,

looks great nice small unit black in colour "rain proof" comes with a charger, laynard strap, clothing clip, and a short pair of headphones (quite deascent quality)

has laynard to wear around the neck, also has a clothing clip, to erm clip on your clothes. lol

only took 2 hours for a full charge out of the box,

LED changes colour dependant on mode, simple to understand

Supports AVRCP profiles, so will pause, play, skip tracks, control volume from the unit.

tested and working fine on HTC TYTN II

Best feature is that it has a 3.5mm plug, so that you can use your own headphones if you wish, this is also great connected to a home stereo system, so you can stream songs to your Stereo system using bluetooth.

Amazing for just £9.95

if you have any questions just let me know,

anyway heres the link

i just need some help with my new HTC TyTN II which may similar in problems to the version mentioned from you (it was originally a chinese version from ORANGE,changed into the english one with wondows Mobile 6 Pro), problem as follow :
- do not have MSN (and i need it sad.gif )
- cannot see on the program menu all the links to OFFICE MOBILE, even though i can open downloaded files cos it exhist in WINDOW folder
- do not see many programs on the main PROGRAMS menu such as , SPRITE BACKUP (ho il disco in cinese, ma ad ogni modo non leggo i caratteri), GPS SOFTWARE (like TOM TOM), WINDOWS LIVE
- canot see on the connections menu, KEYBOARD SLIDING SOUND (but it exist in WINDOW folder)
-in the SYSTEM menu cannot see, KEY LOCK,MICROPHONE AGC,POWER (but all exist in WINDOW folder)
-in CONNECTIONS menu cannot see, GPRS Setting, HDSPA, CONNECTION SETUP,WIRELESS LAN (last one i have in WINDOWS folder)

Another big problem is, i cannot connect to WIFI, i mean once i got the connection, and it show certian network is connected in CONFIGURE WIRELESS NETWORK page, but once i try to use EXPLORER or SKYPE (that tilts my device sad.gif ) it show "The address is not valid. Check the address and try again", and it happens for any kind of website, and i'm connected in the same time with my LAPTOP by using WIFI (using in this moment to write).

Is it a lot of things ? smile.gif ...
Do i suck at this things ?
If anybody is so kind to spend some time to give me help i'll be so grateful.
Thanks everybody !!

hello,

windows live messenger can be found here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334621

everything else you may need for your kaiser including the nice home screen can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=344533

for wifi problem. i suggest you got to start connections wireless lan, and check your settings also if you put the power mode on full performance this normally makes it work alot better.

i had wifi problem it was saying connetec but no internet pages worked, when i put the power mode to better performance it worked fine.

sprite backup and tomtom is not included with the phone you have to purchase serperatley. but you can get htc data backup from the link above.

for the icons not showing in the proggrames menu i dont know why this is, but maybe if you ask over as xda dev's they can help you.

HTH

Hi the side with the longer wire is meant to around the back off your neck and then itno your ear, as for which side is left and right i still have no idea, just wear them as they feel comfortable to you.

Yes.
You can use wifimrouter if you can find it (it seems to have disappeared) or you can do some reg tweaks so that the ICS (internet connection sharing) shares the wifi instead of the 3g data connection. Do a google for ICS wifi registry tweaks.
(It is a lot easier to buy a £15 wifi USB adapter for your desktop though.)

excellent mate. thanks alot.

Does your wireless network connect directly to the internet, or do you only have a connection via the PC?
If your wireless router connects then you don't need the PC - just connect to the WiFi and surf away!

If you're asking "can I use WiFi whilst connected via USB?" then I think the answer is yes - there's a setting in ActiveSync which allows connections whilst "tethered" (but I'm not sure if that just relates to GSM connections)

hi sorry what i was trying to say weather it was possible to make my tytn II act like a modem, connect to my pc via usb. and to a wirless router via wifi.

basically the pc would not be connected to any network at all,

i want for the tytn II to give the pc an internet connection, through usb,

but not through data connection on the tytn II but a wifi connection.

hope that makes sence.

TYTN II > connected to wifi network > TYTN II connected to PC via USB> PC has Internet connection throught TYTN II.

Hi, i accidently spilt orange juice all over my kaiser sad.gif . and now when i slide the screen up/down. it sticks, so im guessing there is some dried juice behind the sliding mechanism, which is causing it to stick and not open and close properly.

does anyone know how to dissaseble the sliding mechanism, on the back.

That sounds pretty well screwed. I'd back up an docs, hard reset and restore the backup you've already attempted to restore.

Hi, ive hard reset my device, and then attempted to restore from the back up file. however it seems watever it was that infected my device in the first place, also messed up the backup file, as it would not restore properly, anyway i have reinstalled everything from scracth and it seems to be running fine now.

could anybody reccomend a antivirus proggrame for it?

thanks.

Hi guys i dont know what just happened, ive got a Orange tytn II, had it for about a month, i was just using internet explorer and the phone crashed, so i soft reset it, (pushing thy stylus in the bottom of the phone once) like i have done before, and then when it loaded up it took me through device setup, alligning the screen etc, like you do when you first get the phone. then it reloaded the orange stuff, but kept the background i had, and then when i go into proggrames most of them are still there but they are dead links, when clicking on them it says this programme is not valid, please reinstall. also the phone will not switch on, it remains in flight mode even when the comm manager it says the phone is on. i cannot access contatcs, the phone will not connect to activsync, via usb, wifi, bluetooth, the backup software has stopped working, so i reinstalled the backup software from the memory card and when i run the backup file the backup software just closes itself. also it has made duplicates of each proggrame you get as standard, e.g there are now two windows media players, two file explorers and so on.

i cant belive this has happened, i dont know why it happened,

is there anything i can do?

is it a possible virus.

can anyone help me please.
