I was digging through some old posts over at blackjackusers and came across this link (http://www.cellphoneshop.net/auvimucafors.html) for an audio/video cable for the first blackjack. I immediately was interested because this would expand the phone's usage to so much more, playing roms and watching movies, giving presentations without a pc, etc...

I suspect that there must be something keeping our phones from doing this or there would already be such a product on the market. Anyways what the hell... Does anyone know if the i617 has these same capabilities? Thanks

edit: after reading more, I realized that the cable actually doesn't work for the i607. So I assume these phones do not support video out through the usb. Anyways, if anybody knows I could get my phone to play on a television (seems far fetched to me now sad.gif...) please share.

My little hatch that covers the USB port fell off... Does anyone know where I can purchase a replacement? I have contacted Samsung but they want me to send the phone in and I would prefer not to.

WOW! Very creative! One question though...did you take the battery out too before popping it in? I can't seem to wedge it in without taking the battery out...

Fortunately for me though, I got myself a 4gig card smile.gif

No I left the battery in. The jagged edge of the microSD slides up into the space between the sim card and the phone. (Maybe my sim card is thinner than yours allowing for more wiggle room).

I recently bought 2 2gb microSD cards (simply because they were cheaper than buying one 4gb). I plan on using them both throughout the day because one has a ton of songs that I play while driving and the other has the lectures that I have to watch (I'm in college and most lectures are video downloads through WMP). The lectures are fairly large files about .5 gb each so I needed the extra space if I wanted to bring them along.
I was faced with the daunting task of keeping track of the other teeny tiny card while I was using the other. Knowing I would someday lose it I began to get curious. I popped off the battery cover and it dawned on me. I wedged the card near where the sim card and reader is located (jagged edge of microSD towards the top of the phone) and popped the battery cover back on. To my surprise it went back on without any signs of misalignment or awkwardness.
Well if anyone else out there is too cheap to splurge on a high dollar / high capacity microSD card, just know that their is a little cubby hole just waiting to house your spare. biggrin.gif

Hi I'm pretty much a newb when it comes to the smartphone scene, but after using the BJII now for a couple of weeks I have found it to be a great improvement over my old Samsung D807 cool.gif .
One thing I have noticed it that the speed/sensitivity of the scroll wheel is somewhat slow (requires too many revolutions to navigate between fields). when doing things like navigating websites. I was just wondering if it would be possible increase the sensitivity or speed (?) of the scroll wheel so that it would cover more ground in less rotations. Perhaps an registry edit of sorts or would overclocking achieve this (I have yet to do this as it seems to cause some issues). Thanks.

HKEY_Local_Machine - Software - Microsoft - Internet Explorer - AboutURLS

change "Home" value from http://home to anything you like.

Has anyone else had problems with this. My Home value is changed, shows up http://google.com after rebooting. But browser still wants to go to http://home.
Please help.

Hmm, interesting, I hadn't tested this one, and now see that there's a missing folder.

Here's what to do assuming you're using RegeditSTG, but it may or may not work. Post if it works though!

Open RegeditSTG and press menu - go to my device. Then click the folders as listed "HKLM" then "SOFTWARE" then "Microsoft" then "Inbox".

Now press "menu" and "New key". Type "Settings" there.

Now go into the key you just created by pressing enter on it.

Here, press "VALUES" (your left soft key).

Now press Menu - New Value - DWORD

Value Name should be "SMSNoSentMsg" (assume it's case sensitive!) without the quotes.
Value data set to 1.
Base = decimal
Value type = REG_DWORD

Now press done, and restart your phone. Send an SMS and see what happens...

Great. That got rid of it. Thanks biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

*** change internet explorer home page ***

navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/AboutURLs
Find the value called "home" edit it's value data to http://whateveryourwebsiteis.something/
*** speed up the interface ***
Display cache increase
RegKey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE
Change from 16384 to 32768
Filesystem caching (default is turned off)
RegKey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS
Change entry for CacheSize from 0 to 1024
RegKey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS
Change entry for EnableCache from 0 value to 1
Create RegKey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Filters\fsreplxfilt
Change entry for ReplStoreCacheSize from 0 to 1024
Get rid of the annoying SMS Sent message
RegKey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings
Create DWORD as SMSNoSentMsg with a value to 1
Reboot

Has anyone else had any trouble using these methods? I followed the instructions to change the homepage (changed to http://google.com tried http://www.google.com as well), rebooted and it still wants to go to http://home ...

If anyone could shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
