Is 3G only mostly used for data transfer, and connections to the internet?

i wonder this because i do not have a data plan, and if i could turn of the 3G band switching off.

Sometimes on my BlackJack II when its just laying around and I'm not using it, the backlight lights up the display for some reason, then it turns off after the time I set but like comes back on shortly after and this cycle repeats.

This is when nothing is running in the background so I don't know why it's happening, can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks

this happens to me when bluetooth is enabled.....

I like Webcam plus.

How to use your PDA/Smartphone as Web camera.

1. You should install WebCamera Plus on Desktop PC and device (versions on PDA and Desktop PC should be identical).
2. Connect PDA (or Smartphone) to Desktop PC via ActiveSync (through USB or Bluetooth).
3. On Desktop PC start application you need (Skype, for example), choose "WebCamera Plus" capture device and start video chat.
4. Start WebCamera Plus on device.
6. Press left soft key ('Start') on device.

You can connect your device through Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/GPRS/EDGE/LAN without ActiveSync. In this case you should enter Server (Desktop PC) IP-address in "Setings" dialog on device (Menu->Settings->Network) .

the only thing i found annoying about this program, is that i wanted to use the screen as the source (and use the internal camera and its zoom, and brightness settings), but the screen times out in a certain period of time.

ya i have gotten it to work while standing still and also in a car, its just doesn't make much sence because sometimes it picks it up in like 15 mins and others it takes 30-45 mins if not at all

Hello, i have recent gone on trips to nyc (aproximentaly 3 a hours away) and i tried to get the GPS up and running on the bux so i could see where i was. So i started cross's GPS test and it never fully got a signal was on for 2 hours) and thus garmin was not able to run. I tried using the internal GPSTest on the bj2 and that did'nt work either. Is it harder to gain a signal when moving on the highway rather then standing still? or is there something i can do so that the GPS can get a fix faster.

I don't like the idea of a blackjack and a case, or any small devices in cases because it makes it that much more bulky, but i would recommend to everyone that a screen protector is mandatory, all i have for my BJ2 is a screen protector and my right front pocket of my pants.

Im familar with simpler phones to have different kinds of vibrate, ie pulse 3/2 times or one quick time but the vibration lasting like 3 seconds is quite annoying and i would assume to be power draining, is it possible to customise the types/kinds of vibration on the BJII?

I just got a i617 and was looking for the hole to attach my wrist strap/lanyard, but can't find one! Is Samsung trying to emulate Apple by not putting wrist strap attachment holes on the BJII? Please let me know if there is some way to attach a lanyard, thanks!

i do not believe there is any loophole, and also i don't think in doing so they are emulating apple in anyway....

this is just a simple question dealing with the GPS in the Blackjack 2. Is it possible to use the GPS feature if i do not have a internet/data plan with my service provider(AT&T) if so how would i go about doing this, (including unlocking the GPS chip other things)

ps. im pretty new to cellphone modding
