QUOTE(Rushabh Mehta @ Sep 19 2008, 19:13) *
i use vodafone, mumbai but this method didnt work for me.They said that windows mobile foes not support the free(basic)gprs and i have to go for the advanced one which is for 250 a month.Which one do you have the basic one or the advanced one?
Thanks

Go for the basic plan ... no monthly rentals, pay as u use. OperaMini, Google Maps working. Not so with Gmail App :-(

see my settings below

settings -> connections -> gprs
Description: Hutch Wap
Connects to: WAP Network
Access point: portalnmms
User name: [blank]
Password: [blank]
Authentication Type: None
Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
IP Address: [blank]

settings -> connections -> proxy
Description: Hutch Wap Proxy
Connects from: WAP Network
Connects to: The Internet
Proxy (name: port): 10.10.1.100:9401
Type: HTTP
User name: [blank]
Password: [blank]

One more setting, which i think it is not required
In connections menu, press right soft key (Menu -> Advanced)
Internet Connection: Hutch wap
Work Connection: Automatic
WAP connection:Hutch wap
Secure WAP Connnection: Automatic

now, in IE select 'internet' for connection.

i am an absolute newbie at wm devices and i just flashed dr. gonzo's rom.

it is excellen !!! much faster, organised and pleasing to the eye than the original rom.

one issue does bug me .... there are 'refresh rate; lines on the screen now. (like on the comp ?) i used to get it on the original rom when ovrclocking to 240mhz but now even at 204 mhz or 228 mhz i am getting these lines.

really a minor inconvenience compared tot he benefits.

hi ppl.

i have a very strange problem on my htc S710. . . . the opera mini doesnot seem to work all the time.

i have to install it through the "java app" ..... usual prompts come up n installation continues ..... voila !! it is working flawlessly :-). I can exit and then when i start the opera mini, it works again.

the problem is that if i re-start the phone, opera mini stops working n i get error to start connection test .... which never connects again.

so, the only work around i have is to un-install opera mini after every re-start n then install it gain.

can anyone help me with this? i have tried all possible versions but same problem.

IE n Opera mobile work as usual but i need opera mini to cut down my bills.

i even got the latest jbrd3d mod, hard-reset etc n same problem still :-(

some one plz help

Hi.

I am an absolute newbie for a WM Device. I just got my HTC s710 two days ago.

Can anyone help me with a step-by-step setting for Vodafone Live settings ?

I use the network wizard but the settings don't work. Not been able to find anything on Google either.

I open IE n can only browse the default favourites. Cannot download anything either.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks
